Same as for humans: death gods and afterlives. Morai-heg and Ereth Khial.
Does Mathilde know anything about Loec beyond "elven god, something about dancing"?
With Deathfangs comment, i kinda hope we could do some research on the possible Loec/Ranald connection.
It is certainly possible that Deathfang is mistaken, or just messing with us, but somehow i don't think it likely enough to ignore the possibility.

Just the one-line description, really. Information on the Elven gods is hard to come by in the Old World, the Elven polities aren't really big on sharing their secrets.

Hmmm, wonder how badly we'd get trolled if we asked Ranald? :V
Well, something to look forward if/when we get around to elfcation.

Considering he apparently arranged to be accused of stealing a dwarven soul and putting it in a human body for shits and giggles, I shudder to think of what he's going to come up with next.

I mean, wow. I'm just crushed by all the awesome options here. Kudos to BoneyM and the people who developed these ideas.

[X] The Waystone Project
[X] Markgraf of Eastern Stirland
[X] Spymaster of Wissenland
[X] Ambassador-at-Large to the Karaz Ankor
[X] Governor-General of Swamp Town

Can I also get a tldr on why people want to go to stirland again?

This seems to me to be the most boring of the options available.
Playing empire builder, battle wizard shenanigans, a shadow war with the Lahmians that didn't decide on the Draco Malfoy Slytherin finishing school of anti subtlety for their graduate education, messing about with Dhar in ways that can be trivially spun as containment and isolation, Roswita interactions, blatant abuse of power to enrich ourselves and/or the Empire with the EIC, figuring out a Seviroscope the can be used as a Dhar Geiger counter to help decontamination of the region, the ability to mess around with waystones on the side, relative proximity to K8P over most other options, and anything I couldn't come up with in five minutes.

A similar spiel could certainly be done for any of the other options.

Multiple reasons:

A. You know that whole worldbuilding tidbid with Kasmir and the Old Gods of swamps and fens? Guess which project will have Mathilde learn more about it?
Also, who knows what else obscure mysteries lurk in that forgotten realm.

B. Opposing Sylvania was Mathilde's baptism of fire. She's a born Stirlander and the right hand of the Hunter-Count.
Campaign against Drakenhof, the chain of events there culminating with the destruction of Castle Drakenhof, not only created her legend but it also in many ways defined her as a person.
Her love of dwarfs even stems from those events.

Why does this matter?

Because as her later actions show, Mathilde cares about what happens in Stirland and Sylvania.

And the job of pacifying Sylvania, Abelhelm's old dream, is not yet done.
Mathilde's has personal reasons to take her shot at it.

C. She's an excellent candidate, one of the best (if not the best) for the job. She could do a world of good.

D. I like reading about fighting Vampires and Necromancers, and transforming hellholes into places worth living.

There's currently five significant New World colonies: Swamp Town (Empire), Port Reaver (Sartosa), Skeggi (Norscan), Santa Magritta (Estalian), and Nuevo Luccini (Tilean).
Did Swamp town just get overtaken once Empire heard there is something worth taking, or did Swamp town petition them to take over so they would have protection against Port Reaver? Or is its history entirely different here?

Petition. For a while after the town was founded they tried hiring pirates for protection and to maintain their independence, but then the town was sacked by one of those pirates.

Interesting. Waystones are way ahead of everything, but since this is a vote to investigate with no clear cutoff, Boney can probably justify investigating all of these except Count of Sylvania. (Whick makes sense, that's arguably a clear downgrade compared to Markgraf in terms of how interesting it's likely to be.) Obviously, up to him if he feels writing about less popular options like Ambassador or Loremaster is worth the time. Perhaps they get a shorter summary instead?

Kinda surprised that so few are interested in Loremaster considering the seemingly popular sentiment of wanting to stay in K8P. Perhaps people feel there isn't much to investigate?

Anyone else wondering why the light college patriarch is so insistent on keeping Egrimm firmly under hand? From the perspective Egrimm gave it sounds like poor management, but I wonder if there is more to it. It's pretty well outside of our purview, but it's pretty spooky stuff. Egrimm has definitely not given any reason to disbelieve him.

Egrimm sees it as keeping him under his thumb.
Perhaps Alric sees it as having finally found a worthy successor who he's grooming for the role.

That, and a lot of people have expressed that since there isn't much left to investigate at K8P, it is rather unfair to Belegar if we keep occupying the position of Loremaster, when he could appoint one better suited to the traditional duties of one (internal negotiations, dwarf law, maintaining and updating the Hold's archives etc.) if we were to resign from the post. So far, Belegar's been doing those things on his own while Mathilde acted as the local weird shit expert and magical troubleshooter.

Yeah, but acting as Karaz Ankor's weird shit expert and magical troubleshooter is cool! And we can't do that if we step down as Loremaster, as per Boney.

I really would like to take a little "time-out" in Nagarythe. We have done human, we have done Dwarf. Now let's go see a bit of the elven side of the world that our dear GM will dream up for us. I also legitimately think our dear Grey could learn a lot of useful things there.

Next up I would be very interested in Kislev and involving ourselves in being a divine emissary. Also the sheer irony of openly declaring Mathilde to be high priest of Ranald is too good to be missed. The WTFs going around after that tidbit.....

Hence why both Sinecure and Loremaster-at-Large are options that can be voted for. And as cool as it is, it would seem most people would rather be helpful to Belegar and be able to move on to something else.

Just FYI, this vote's just about determining Mathilde's interest, so we see which of the jobs she'll investigate further before making her choice. Elfcation, along with Sinecure and Research Sabbatical, were marked as options that Mathilde already knows as much about as she can without committing. So votes for them don't make a difference at this vote.
