I understand what Richard wants. That was the original joke when Daenerys suggested we make his castle a flying one - it fits the wording but not the spirit of the thing.
Nevertheless, I suggest giving him a castle that looks entirely normal even though it absolutely isn't. This is IMO completely IC (just look at how often Goldfish writes "throw magic items at them!" votes), fits what Richard actually wants (a nice small castle to retire to someday) and avoids the issue of said castle being an entirely useless piece of set-dressing.

The purpose of a castle in Westeros isn't just to be a house. It's also a long-term guarantee of safety and relevance for your son's line. If we're giving Richard a castle it'll obviously have to be warded to some extent, so why not make it able to fly in an emergency? That way Richard can keep it on the ground in his family's ancestral lands, and yet it's still relevant to his descendants who can ride it into battle as needed in the far future.
I see no particular reason to keep the warrior nobility alive into the far future for the sake of nostalgia.

Furthermore, I retract all my support for flying palaces of any kind.

For some reason I'm just picturing Howl's Moving Castle but with giant wings instead of legs

Okay I am completely lost on the talks about creating military ships, bases and flying castles.

So imma gonna focus on other parts. Awwww Rhaenys is so cute. Show those snotty Magister kids what you really think of them! (we are trying to obselete the worst of them anyways...). Really looking forward to interludes from the coronation! And Awwww I was kinda hoping some nobles were in attendance for surprise!cantrips. And finally wow Oberyn's been behaving himself due to Elia? Do we need to codify "Elia's Dissapointed-but-not-Surprised Glare" as a spell?

By the way, this was still a pretty costly batch of losses:
- 7x Wyverns Type-A; 22,360 IM each; 156,520 IM total
- 3x Wyverns Type-B; 17,240 IM each; 51,720 IM total
- 2x Manticores; 32,330 IM each; 64,660 IM total

That's 272,900 IM of military hardware that got wiped out. Nearly the net-worth of a 4 person lvl 20 party.

BTW guys I just wrote a small interlude for tomorrow since I will be getting the vaccine and might not be able to write properly if the pain compounds current troubles with my hands. Hopefully I'll be able to write the actual awards update in the morning before I get said shot, but even if not you guys have one update guaranteed tomorrow.

Some people report no side effects for one shot, then multiple days of side effects for the other one... and some report no side effects at all.

It kinda mirrors the virus itself in that regard. My 91 year old grandmother got the first shot last week and said her arm was barely sore the next day, while my aunt who is in her late 60s spent the next couple days in bed absolutely miserable.

So I just realized that we forgot to vote on what honors to present to those who served in the Ymeri campaign.

@DragonParadox, how many of our people were involved, and how many died?

  1. The crews of all the ships were present and no more than that so you can get those numbers out of the statistics.
  2. As for who got killed, the pilots of all the destroyed craft and an extra 250 Airmen from the larger crafts.

Mind. The usual honours are giving everyone a badge that denotes their participation in the campaign and then some further medals for those having done exemplary services.

There should have been around 300 people for the various air squadrons, including pilots, support personal and the auxiliary gunners.

Loosing 250 people on the larger crafts is pretty insane though.

Is this excessive, or not enough? I'm terrible at judging such things.

@DragonParadox, @Azel, I don't suppose one of y'all had a number of crewmen easily at hand?I

Imperial Star of Military Valor for the gunners and priests that manned the exposed batteries during the last run of the Dauntless, and to a few others who are deemed to have served exemplary by their comrades and commanders.

Also a verbal commendation for the Dauntless and its crew for performing such outstanding acts on its very first deployment.

[X] Awards and Commendations
-[X] The gunners and priests of R'hllor who manned the Dauntless' batteries exposed to Ymeri's final desperate counterattack, along with those others among the crews of Imperial vessels deemed to have provided exemplary service, will receive the Imperial Star of Military Valor.
-[X] Viserys will give a verbal commendation praising the crew of the Dauntless for their outstanding performance on its first deployment combat deployment.
-[X] Everyone who participated in the Firewalker Campaign (tentative placeholder) will receive a small medal depicting an enameled Red Dragon curled around and clutching a Dragonglass bead painted to resemble a dying ember.
-[X] Imperial personnel who participated, or their next of kin, will also receive three months of bonus pay (Total: 30,000 IM)

[X] Mereth Level Up
-[X] Class: +1 Steel Fury
-[X] Skills (8 points): +1 Sense Motive, +1 Sleight of Hand, +1 Spot, +2 Listen, +3 Search

Plan updated. That's more enchanting than we can cover this month, so the medallions will have to be awarded next month.

Gonna add Mereth's shortly.
Just leave out the cantrip. I think that's largely superfluous.

If we want to provide them with something tangible beside honor, give everyone 3 months bonus pay (30,000 IM total).

I don't think we need or should make medals into magic items. They are meant as recognition of valor and service, not loot in the classical sense. There is also the issue that you normally keeping the actual medal at home and only wear a small bar that represents the medal. I'm not in favour of making our soldiers look like North Korean generals after a while.

Okay, plan updated and enchantment removed in favor of bonus pay, plus Mereth's level up plan.
