This is a terrible idea, and I desperately want to do it. I mean, come on. How cool would that be?

I'm also of the opinion that it is a terrible idea, but I kinda want to see it anyways.

I sure hope SV would be more diplomatic than that. Mathilde was a noblewoman albeit a low ranking one and a would be magister (because I can't imagine SV not considering that someone with her accomplishments wouldn't get promoted to magister).

Lol no- the closest situation we have to Mathilde being Roswita and getting handed an existing organization is the Stirland watch. And there, as I recall, we ignored or overruled the captain until he resigned, put a thief in charge, made them start dealing with sewers and shit, then tried to institute worship of Ranald.

So, WAY more high-handed than Roswita treated us, with way less awareness or consideration of it. And I think "disaffected former captain of the Stirland watch" is a very bad enemy to have made as the spymaster, so I see the larger calculation game as pretty equal too.

I don't think we're friends, but with a bit more effort we'll probably get recognized by Asarnil as an actual person instead of a particularly intelligent animal. :V

Closest thing to a friend he's had in almost 200 years? Seriously, there's an arc here where we go to ulthan and somehow manage to wrangle him dispensation to visit so apologies can be discussed, but while he's there he realizes he doesn't actually like other elves as much as the mortals he's been chilling with lately- namely, us. And so we get him as a real friend and on-call for adventures.

[X] Sir Ruprecht Wulfhart the Younger

I'm just wondering... It was said the Leylines for the Karag Vlad flowed from Karag Dum (and cutting that connection was Mathilde's job)... So basically the mountain that works as the Waystone in Karag Dum is operational.

Exactly how much energy will soon flow to the rest of the Leyline network?

Come on let´s give the Combes alittle more love!!! We only need a handful of votes to distance them from Sir Ruprecht!!!

I have nothing against Ruprecht, but having a conversation and building rapport with him is not nearly as valuable as the intel or loot that we can get from the Skaven (including information about how much they know about the expedition, or if they plan to attack it)...

i am off the opinion that talking with someone who we will be fighting alongside will be more valuable than the chance that we find something interesting with the skaven
At least the Dawi-Zharr are completely new so there is much more to learn

Why? I fail to see how is more valuable (from an utilitarian POV) to get to know a fellow officer of the expedition than it is to check one enemy fortresses that we are forced to travel near it, which will allow us to know the plans of the enemy and if need intervene to stop them...

You are saying that fresh intelligence reports of the enemy are less valuable than a higher level of camaraderie with an officer

Did I miss us reaching Lady magister?
When did that happen?

Huh, I do not mean that in a mean way, nor do I want to criticise you, I just feel genuine bafflement and HAVE to ask, how does one miss that? Even if one does not follow the thread and just wants to read the story (which is totally valid, I just put it as an example because it is the minimum of interaction one CAN have with the quest) It was major part of one update, and it featured heavily in story afterwards with people noting our new credentials and it painting our relationship with the new wizards. Its not some tiny, maybe relevant maybe not detail that only someone doing a reread or @picklepikkl would notice, it is a major plot point and we have been referred as that for more that 10 updates.

is it not logical to want to know who you will be holding the line with when you have to face a common enemy?

an enemy that might not have been alerted to our presence unless we leave it up to chance whether our scouting of them is successful or disastrous
We will only know if they have been alerted of our presence if we scout them, and maybe they are not aware of our presence, but the sudden appearance of several demons of Tzneech running away into their territory is a good indication that something is coming...

This is a joke I do not understand. Please explain.
One Piece reference... The Island of the Snipers is where Ussop´s Alter ego Sogeking was born.

Basically, it is not a real place in-universe.

Or we could trust the knights that are scouting our surroundings to find any potential ambushes or approaching Skaven. Its not that clan Eshin is known to be in the area and the knights should be more than capable of finding a horde of clanrats or ratogers.

We are travelling on the most important road in the region with a small army, a dragon and six house sized steam-wagons. For either of the major regional powers to not be aware of our presence would be baffling incompetence.

In Boney's words :

Every step will likely be watched by at least two sets of eyes, watching for any moment of weakness to attack and turn the Expedition's resources into their own.
