It is possible to sneak into Uzkulak? I know we've managed some rather insane sneaking stunts already, having a peak in would make for a wonderful research paper.

Oh nice, survivors! Ornery survivors, but what can one expect of dawi that survived being besieged in a pocket of reality floating in the aether.

Doing the Light triad would probably be timely, I think? Snorri as well, given we've spent a lot of time with him. I'm a bit iffy on the Other options though, neither seem too good an idea.

"Here, I think I've got an idea. Budge over." A moment later, a much louder voice asks, "what about the Elgi? They turn up for this Great War of yours?"

You smile. "They sent three people and they still act smug about it."

Silence answers that. "I think it might be real," someone finally says.
This is fantastic, I'm glad Mathilde has finally admitted it. One hold reclaimed, one more to go on this expedition.

Egrimm sighs. "Facing the forces of Chaos is the purpose of the Order of Light, and as such we try to prepare our initiates as best we can. But there is always attrition, and those that stare into the eye of the Great Enemy and balk are the least of those. It can be impossible to tell from the outside whether someone has recovered from their encounter with Chaos and are ready to face it again, or whether they have found in themselves a desire to seek it out for the wrong reasons."
You're having entirely too much fun with this.

They'd act smug about sending a horse.

If the Expedition turned back this instant it would still be a net win for the forces of Order. But we're a Ranaldite, let's see if we can turn this into a winning streak.

Well Egrimm I still don't trust you but I do admire the fact that your keeping an eye on your ducklings.

And jeez surviving dwarfs from Karak Vlag is massive! And not our problem but something Thorgrim will have to deal with when he hears of it.

Welp, I'm gonna vote to go to Uzkulak, just to see what Boney does with it.

I make no claim that it's the correct choice, but it's definitely the most interesting one.

About a big a win as can be expected, considering.

Alright, go poke the Light Journeymen, see what's up there, and I do want to go see the Chaos Dwarf city, see what comes of that.

What was the Ice Witch up to during the fight?

She will be doing shortly after the Expedition sets off, and I'll try to remember to say so in the beginning of the next update.

Power from Vlag's waystone network gets added to the greater one and Thorgrimm gets the notification.

Cue much happiness and confusion on his part.

No need to send a runner to the South, he will be sending scouts within hours of seeing the added flow of power.

Yeah, this is the kind of thing that usually boomerangs back in your favor once things settle down a bit. Restoring a node on the Karaz Ankor's geomantic network is also going to help out quite a bit. (And if the flow is two ways, it'll also flow back up to Dum, which might have importance later)

Looks like while they're hurting, they're still fairly solid, I think they'll be okay unless a Waaagh! materializes from the aether or the Skaven suddenly emerge from nowhere.

and you're barely able to grab him by the collar and yank him out of the path of an incomign crossbow bolt.

Weird how little respect the runesmiths (runepokers) are getting. Maybe the dynamics of those surviving dwarves are especially skewed somehow.

Could be that "proper" runesmiths were already dead, and the ones remaining had to basically teach themselves from the ground up.

Also these poor dwarves are all probably culled to only have the most suspicious be the most right (or just have the most numbers remaining), so those get put in positions of authority. These dwarves must have had an absolutely shit time surviving the temptations sent their way.
