Here's to hoping that if the Daemons disintegrate, we can find whatever ritual site inside the mountain was actually causing it to enter the Warp. If not, we might be back to square one when we have to fix the Waystone and turn the power back on.

Here's to hoping that clogging the Waystone doesn't turn off the Runes of Valaya in the Karak, too. We're not cutting Vlag off from KaK though so it should be fine, but we are cutting off Dum which would be super-bad if those turned off.

Huh, I wonder what title we might get off of doing this? Like, nobody is going to know the particulars of what we're doing, as per Word of Boney, just that we're doing "magic stuff" to drag an entire Dwarf Hold back from the Warp so we can retake it. That's gotta be worth something.

@BoneyM I presume that regardless of the vote, the Expedition is sending a messenger back to Pragg - who would be going? One (or a few) of the Winter Wolves or Demigryph Knights?

The warp has no spacial coordinates. How many reinforcements Slaanesh can send is a function of how much of It's attention it can spare and how big the gate is, no more and no less. Judging by the fact that it send those demonettes I'd say It is quite busy.
It might take days to fall back into reality (plenty of time for reinforcements), and the gate is the size of an entire Karak and it's outlying fortifications. Every watchtower in the pass is also missing, so unless we want to risk being surrounded by demons behind dwarven defenses when they return we will need to fall back to the outer perimeter of their defenses.

Demon strangler? :V

Yeah, between Asarnil and Hubert we have CAP around the clock, plus enough wizards to have some on picket duty all the time. We have a huge information advantage. If they sally, we'll know.

A handful of Winter Wolves, probably.
Yep, they're our fastest assets other than Mathilde, and we can't really send Mathilde off on messenger duty for the same reason we can't send Deathfang off.

@BoneyM, at the next Waystone instead of clogging it would it be possible to redirect the stream of magic to somewhere other than Vlag like the inside of another mountain?

I don't know, but did anyone else catch this detail?
Borek shrugs. "Okay. Go reclaim it."

Snorri looks at it, then to you questioningly.
I know that in context it's because we're the expert on magic on the council, but it also looks from the outside a lot like "hey, uh, reclaimer lady? can you give me a hint?"

Dum is already cut off from Karaz-a-Karak. Its energy is flowing south to where Vlag should be, but since Vlag isn't there to provide its node in the Dwarf network, that energy can't make it to the rest of the Karaz Ankor.

Days do not mean anything in the Warp either. Slaanesh has the strenght it has.

Once it popped back into the immaterium it left the watchtowers and fortifications behind.
, and you do a lot of glaring at the bare cliff-face that has once more replaced the entranceway. You might wonder if it had been some sort of hallucination if it weren't for a couple of things: the road and the watchtowers are still where they're supposed to be,

Von Horstmann is still an unknown quantity for us...is there any way that he (or any other sleeper agents) could screw up our clogging/unclogging process?

As I understand it, if we pull Vlag back into reality and starve the demons out, not only would we have a nice, empty dwarfhold we can explore at our leisure (assuming skaven or goblins don't slip in when we're not looking, or that there aren't any mortal chaos worshippers living there), we could also use the hold as a place to rehome any potential refugees from Karak Dum. It's also quite safe for us, as the demons would be unlikely to reach us from the next waystone (we could possibly go a bit further up the chain, if we're feeling cautious).

My main concern is that if we mess up the clogging, or we let the magic build up too much behind the clog, we could end up Chernobyling the local landscape. The alternative, however, is asking a journeymanling to summon a mountain full of demons whilst we're standing in front of it, and that sounds risky. Besides, stone is an excellent insulator of magic, so the exploding waystone wont do too much damage. Probably.
