[X] Lead the Wizards and Asarnil
My bad. It is indeed not two clauses, but one clause with the however in the middle. However, I still think the commas should be there. I did a quick google search and found this article:I...want to say I'm not using it for that purpose, and that this is another way to use it, but I don't know how to put it into words.
Article: Some editors fastidiously move sentence-initial "howevers" to a position later in the sentence, as in I will be back on Wednesday, however, to collect my wages. As long as it's punctuated correctly, it's fine in either location, so there's no need to move it. But note that when it occurs in the middle of a clause, it's surrounded by commas.
It's possible that sentence-initial however could be ambiguous without the following comma, but even then the confusion is likely to be momentary. I don't see this as a compelling reason to avoid sentence-initial however, though I do believe it's important to punctuate it properly, with both a preceding semicolon or period and a following comma, to avoid tripping up the reader.
We had our chance to recruit halflings. More cav instead of more moral was the call. This is the first military campaign Mathilde has been on without halfling chiefs. It is going to be miserable.

It's actually Deathfang who cooks their meals.Maybe we can Asarnil if he is willing to share whatever he's eating. I refuse to believe a Calandorian Dragonlord eats to less than world class standards even if he has to learn to cook himself.
That is exactly what I was aiming for, and it was both surprisingly hard to write, especially at the end, but also quite fun.

If that sounds like a post-facto explanation for doing the practical thing it's just coincidence.Caledorians often insist that fresh meat lightly roasted by dragonfire is the greatest of delicacies.

Not like Elves would ever decieve lesser races like that.
It is worth noting that "Dragonfire roast" has been a stable part of Caledonian Dragons' diet for thousands of years, and their palettes are even more refined than that of elgi.If that sounds like a post-facto explanation for doing the practical thing it's just coincidence.

Almost suspiciously so no? I think it is clear that Sigmar killed Van Hal so that we would go in to become a super dawi saver instead of staying around to help Ableheim in Slyvania forever. It has probably been remarked on before. But I find it amusing that, for all Mathilde doesn't believe in Sigmar, Sigmar in all likelyhood believes in Mathilde.
All of the stuff she's gotten up to since she became an anti-sigmarite is stuff he would broadly approve of. Especially the part where she helped dawi.
Fair warning, if we ever get definitive proof that Sigmar deliberately let Abel die because Mathilde "would do more good elsewhere", that would be my response except with even more undead.Almost suspiciously so no? We should use necromancy to get him back! That would show him!
It's easy. All you have to do is roast an entire cow, then cut away the charcoal to reveal the tender flesh at the very core.
Why is that? Steppe is as good as it gets for commanding cavalry.
