@Azel, we could also invite her to Sorcerer's Deep as a tour to show off how awesome our city is, as a way of laying down a very long term investment of her princedom joining the Imperium.

Given that the lady seems to have trust issues, that might be difficult. However, I trust Viserys golden tongue to convince her of that, if he sees a chance to make it happen.

We are on the shit-list of the Efreeti empire, at least one Archduke of Hell, Tiamat, at least one Demon Lord, at least one of the rulers of Abbaddon, the Illithid empire, a metric fuckton of Essosi mages and nobles who lost everything to Viserys, the Bloodstone Emperor, the Others, the Void...
...Llolth, the Seven, Sseth, Ymeri, Black Goat, the 15th God of Valyria, Court of Stars, at least some Marid houses, whatever almost attacked us in Dreamlands that one time, Euron...

Her sending her son to us as a ward is a fairly good sign, so I've got hope of things progressing in that direction.

By the time we're in a position for Amrelath and Yrten to forge their own Imperial Provinces in the Plane of Fire the war against the Brazen Throne would have made significant progress, so the Salamander Queen should be of a mind to consider joining us in full by then.

I've got my money on Nurgle for that dreamlands thing. ASOIAF has all the Lovecraft references.

Security detail wise, I'd say a Black Champion guarding him 24/7 and at least one Erinyes guarding his home and accompanying him when he is out and about. Also, light Inquisition spying and regular House of Mirrors check-ups.
That should ensure assassins are properly dealt with.

Include that in the vote and I'll edit the assignment sheet and proposed turnvote right away.
Will likely forget later.

It'd definitely help if his mom has a spare Mind Blank ring she could pass on to him, though that is unfortunately unlikely.

Considering the kind of enemies we already have, I'm less then worried. Let them get their number and get in line.

[X] Offer to foster her son in Sorcerers Deep
-[X] Meet personally as a sign of respect to hash out the terms, namely what we should teach her heir and if there are any things we need to look out for. This meeting will also be used to ensure that there are no diplomatic misunderstandings due to our different cultures.
-[X] Also offer her the sale of minor, non-soulforged undead, who can be used to beef up her defenses, especially against infiltrators. We would also offer other assets, but these are the only ones for which her own people can guarantee that they come with no hidden agendas or other surprises.
Given the Salamander's innate metalworking ability and their cultural appreciation of the craft, this would be a good opportunity to introduce him to some our more skilled Mage-Smiths and the Qohori smiths we poached.

Those would be the more visible guardians. A Vigilant Hunter Bio-Construct could always be nearby, hiding with their highly developed stealth skills and Greater Invisibility SLA, while keeping watch using their Watchman abilities.

Eh. I doubt he is that valuable to her. It would also likely do more to hinder our Divination surveillance of him then it would stop assassins.

If we actually do get her to visit SD, we should straight up show her the construction site of the Dauntless. Both due to being massive metalworking project and as a power-play.

Also, I can add that bio-construct, but are they really named "Vigilant Hunger" or was that your Kindle stating it's intention to devour the living?

That's part of the reason I wanted to get her to accept an official state visit. There is a lot we can show off to her, stuff that will make a hell of an impression.

Added that and (@Duesal) an explicit mention of inviting her over.

Another thing, @DragonParadox, could we give Yrten some of the Adamantine from the captured ships to armor up the Golden Wind some more? If the Efreeti are starting to view him as a problem, I feel that it might be warranted.

I wonder how old he is? A younger heir would be easier to steer away from trouble. And into glorious imperial glory.

Speaking of the Golden Wind, if it's in good enough condition to travel to SD, our drydock repair facilities are extremely capable. Between the multiple Rods of Make Whole and Greater Make Whole, they can repair anything short of catastrophic damage at no expense, and if the damage is really extensive, the drydock's Memory of Function feature can repair anything short of total destruction for 2,000 IM. We should make that available to him.

Hm... point. If we get him to SD, we could also to some retrofits on our own. I don't think that Steam Cannons would work, but we could install some Steam Projectors for close range defense and maybe a few Launchers.

Don't forget Robert Baratheon and Tywin and Cersei Lannister!

...

Bahahaha I can't keep a straight face typing that.

How about some of those Elemental weapons we have laying around?

Anyway, we have five Sword Ships retrofitted and crewed by the Shaitan BTW that we never did anything with, maybe we should have them assisting Yrten?

And I guess we're scrapping these captured ships for the metal?

I could probably squeeze a Brilliant Barrier Projector into next month's crafting schedule, too.

The Sword Ships aren't metal-plated so they can just be retrofitted and sent to join Yrten's raiders.

The Turtle Ship on the other hand... One Turtle Ship on average yields 34.67 Metric Tons of Adamantine. Hell yeah we're stripping that. :D
