Clearly more strict supervision is needed.
It looks like they waited until Teana was on vacation. That at least shows that they're not completely stupid.

@egoo, don't we have a Mind Dragon assigned to the Scholarium in SD? And some Watchmen servitors as well, after they finish growing this month? They can at least be on the look out for shenanigans.

Keep in mind these are initiates who have devil lecturers. the details of how you guys got the loyalty of such are not public.
Nor should they really be public... but I guess one is inferring that Viserys has some kind of deal with an Archduke? Or I guess if they have more faith in our abilities, we somehow "tricked one", which... well... define trick...

Using their intellect in all the wrong ways.

But yes, a Mind Dragon is there.

@egoo Not sure it really matters, but Sarah of Pentos is now back in, and expected to be in an on-going basis, Pentos. Since we have her running the Scholarum branch being initiated there.

Eh, she wasn't doing any RAs before anyway, afaik.

Thanks for heads-up, but beyond maybe having Braavos/Pentos Scholrum Branches done this month (not guaranteed) I think we got everything covered as-is.

Look. We want a big barrel that absorbs energy generated by belief into the Imperium and by sympathetic actions, such as what the bureaucracy or the legion are doing in their day to day business. Said barrel of juice can then be used to power other things:
- an afterlife (preferably something akin to the Old Gods, since I prefer hivemind over having a phsyical location that makes the afterlife to mundane a thing)
- Viserys throwing around the odd Divine Salient once there is enough power for that
- bribing the Imperial Pantheon and binding them together
- reforging souls from the afterlife into Outsiders

That's about it.

The guiding intellect will be Viserys, achieving divinity by proxy and thus avoiding the metaphysical baggage.
I prefer the afterlife to be a physical location simply because a big part of our goal there is to make it a massive fortified pit stop for all souls of our citizens. They then have a choice to become an Imperial Outsider or to be guided to the realms of various Imperial Deities.

Just one small note here, Viserys would not consider any of these initiates to be truly children. The youngest is of an age he was when he awakened to power and all were proper mages. It would not be OOC for him to make some allowances on account of youth, but these are not poor wee innocents. they intentionally summoned devils in defiance of the law.

I don't think anything in the current vote is truly OOC though? On the one hand, if they were some kind of cult, and they had conducted murders, or were engaging in actual acts of treason, the specific context breaching the law in this case was while under the jurisdiction of the Scholarum, rather than outside of it, so it isn't automatically treason outside of specific incidences of treasonous activity. They broke the law, but its now in matters of degrees.

It's like the difference between first, second and third degree. If deaths had occurred as a result of this, even from mishap, the tone of the discussion would be incredibly different. Depending on what we found, that could mean removal of all ability to cast spells and imprisonment, or immediate execution... or summary execution if they resisted any of the above.

I think it's better to use this as a lesson to people that mistakes can be made... if you fuck up a little, you can learn from that and the pain and suffering you experience from being in debt and having to do tedious and exacting makeup work might be enough to encourage a little critical thinking on the lecture the motherfucking King took time out of his schedule to give you.

If you fuck up next time, well, one can imagine you are either criminally incompetent just for being caught in the middle of conjuring more fiends (since congrats, you now have the Inquisition monitoring you)... or are more successful than you'd hoped for at conjuring fiends.

Do avoid. For Fucks sake man if you dont want people to consider them children dont call them children.
The chapter doesn't actually mention children, as you pointed out to me earlier. They're just referenced as "younger initiates", which we've learned since range in ages from 13 to 17. Old enough to know better, IMO.

Oh it's not, I'm just a little gun shy of 'think of the children' arguments since the last time I stumbled into a moment that called for one accicentally/
Viserys isn't adverse to attributing innocent virtue on the truly innocent, but he's also totally prone to treating young people like they are just as culpable as a full grown adult if they step up and engage in inherently risky occupations (like becoming a mage).

With that the priest departs at some unspoken signal of his patron and another god arises in spirit, not flesh, from the marble floor of the temple. Though his scales are crimson light, deep shadows flow between them and gold like long dead suns the light of his eyes. Zathir's former patron is present only in will and in voice.

"Ssspeak..."
@DragonParadox, are the Imperial Gods casually visiting each other's temples like this nowadays? I understand Yss and Zathir have a closer relationship, but it'd be cool if the others were in on this behavior.
