Need more votes, y'all. Let's see what's been happening in Slaver's Bay.

-[X] Ghiscari Investigation

Lets make sure that the Ghiscari haven't done anything termanily stupid before we Reconquista Westeros.

Meh, I'm in the mood for infernal intrigues today.

Plus, we have a lack of Malarys and Garin lately, and I want to see them on screen. And to see how those two Drow are doing.

And also Mereth, the sooner she is free the sooner we get to send her on missions with Richard.

Interlude DCCCVII: Weighing Fortune
Weighing Fortune

Sixth Day of the First Month 294 AC

Meereen, Slaver's Bay

Tyene looked at the ciphered message in exasperation, unsure if she should be thanking the handful of gods she knew were on her side or curse her ill luck to hell. She had not planned to make any moves before the others returned from the Far North, but as is often in the games of intrigue and misdirection, opportunity and peril made a mockery of plans laid in advance. She turned to the alu demon currently lounging on a silken divan. "How certain are you this isn't a plot to flush us out of hiding... or, well, to flush the enemies of Baator out of hiding? They could hardly have missed all the agents Malarys swept up last month."

"Pretty sure." Azema started, counting reasons on one delicate clawed finger after another. "The Feast of Wrath will draw in all the great families, including the ones too cautious or too reclusive to recruit normally. It almost has to draw in the ones still aligned with the Sons of the Harpy because of the religious connotations of gaining vengeance for Old Ghis. It would be the perfect stage for recruitment and the perfect killing ground for assassination if the devils are looking into intimidating the heads of Houses into joining them. And who better to assassinate than the oldest of the Graces, the one who pretty much secured the peace after the harpies were evicted?"

"It seems almost desperate though," Tyene mused, tapping her hand against the cedar desk. "Something as blatant as public assassination seems more like..." she paused and gave a sheepish sniff.

"Like something demons would do," the inquisitor finished with a cheerful smile, flashing just a hint of fangs to one, who like Tyene, could see beneath her glamour "Maybe Old Brimstone Ass isn't desperate at all, maybe he just doesn't need the rest of the Mereenese aristocracy and he's just gambling big to see if he can win big or clear the board. We don't really have that clear an idea who's in bed with Baator besides Loraq, but from all the petty fiends we found sniffing around last month it could be half a dozen others."

"I'd be a lot more comfortable sending someone in if you hadn't found the information so easily," Tyene sighed. "Generally it takes more than slipping into the sheets with the right fool to reveal the plots of Baator."

"Oh, there wasn't any bed involved..." Azema began, but the Dornishwoman just shook her head.

"I don't need to know any more on that matter, thank you."

"You're no fun." Had there ever been a sight more absurd than a several thousand year old demon pouting like a toddler? Tyene wondered.

"I'm sure you can tell Yrael all about it, or Mereth if you are feeling brave," the sorceress offered in consolation, quite an effective one at that to judge from the thoughtful expression that crossed the demon's face. "For now I think we should gather to decide on this and send a message back to the Deep for counsel as well. We only have two days to decide one way or another."

Companions: Waymar Royce, Tyene Sandviper, Garin Drekelis, Malarys Vanor
Vassals: Yrael Elaenos, Mereth, Azema, Teana Strycos
Agents: Aradia the Huntress, Nuri the Dancer, Tuin, Morwyn, Liomond Lashare
Misfits: Ceria 'Storm', Criston Storm, Denys Trainer, Chun Ting Lo

Do you send anyone to the Feast of Wrath in the hopes of foiling an assassination?

[] Yes, the chance to capture a high ranking agent of Baator is too good to pass up
-[] Write in who to send

[] No, agents of the Lord of the Ninth would not be so sloppy as to let their plans known thus, it's probably a trap

[] Write in

OOC: Hopefully all this jumping around on the timeline isn't too hard to follow.

[X] See what means there are to gain entrance. A trap isn't full proof, or else immune to being sprung from the outside.
-[X] If it is ensured that there is only one possible avenue one might gain access to either information or a clear shot on anyone involved, that means that all other vectors of approach were carefully assessed and pruned away.
-[X] Double check for false trails or obvious baits in anticipation of an enemy just as paranoid as you are.
--[X] If it seems too good to be true, like an idiotic yet conspicuously high ranking individual left alone, invited and well-placed to grant an entourage of guests access to the event, it probably is.
--[X] Leave room for doubt, or even insert a group of reasonably competent Inquisition agents/Investigators to accompany such an individual, covered in enough wards and their own modestly enchanted equipment to be inconspicuous in the case of mages, to the average interests, yet conspicuous to someone making use of True Sight.
--[X] They will enter with a good enough cover to hold up passingly but mostly to spring an ambush whereby the less well-placed group (containing Tyene, Teana, Azema, Liomond and the Asura Upasunda (CR 9) ) are ready to intervene.
--[X] The Misfits and Morwyn and Tuin will wait nearby prepared to cut off anyone escaping on foot (mostly meaning targets of opportunity), while Aradia and Nuri will provide overwatch for them.
---[X] Everyone in this operation will be provided with Planeshift + Teleportation and Sending Charms, mostly meaning the Inquisition agents acting as bait, who will escape as soon as the ambush is sprung if possible using the Planeshift ones to escape to prepared locations in Armun Kelisk or the Opaline Vault, or if they have a good shot and have the spells for it will try to aid the group counter-ambushing.
----[X] You will have one fall-back position for short-range retreat to regroup at, and a more discrete and distant rendezvous point. Those escaping outright will be expected at our Embassies in the Opaline Vault and Armun Kelisk, respectively.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, @DragonParadox.
