You really want to earthquake the place, huh?

If they're in the house, the Earthquake will either catch them completely by surprise and trap or kill them via collapsed rubble, or prompt those who are capable to attempt to do an emergency Teleport to escape.
That's actually exactly what we've already put in place. The moment anyone tries to use Teleportation magic within the house or a significant area around, above, or below it, they will instead be transported to our prepared ambush spot.

Imagine Viserys sticking his head through the bathroom door like Jack Nicholson lugging a wood axe.
Mmmm.
Well the golden company just. Uh.
Showed their hand.
In a big way. The Kami are going to be pissed. They hate it when mortals go against them.
I think you can, to some degree, cow and disorganise them by killing enough Fey Lords/Ladys or eventually a King or Queen.Basically, fey are tied to the land, which is why you can't just get rid of them without doing basically what the Dragons did, burning a land to the bedrock so hard that you literally scrub every metaphysical link it bore, but also made it essentially completely barren and uninhabitable in every respect, with nothing, not Void-taint and certainly not nature, able to get a foothold over it.
That's basically just going to ground, though, getting annoyed with being stomped on repeatedly and dipping out back into the Feywild except for when there's something you want. Best of a bad bargain if you risk the prime real estate being turned into a toasty briquette if you go full ham and cheese against whatever is annoying you. It doesn't mean you can't pop back in and take over where you left off, you just have to wait for whatever evil empire was after your jock to get wiped out. Happens all the time.I think you can, to some degree, cow and disorganise them by killing enough Fey Lords/Ladys or eventually a King or Queen.
The Valyrians brought the Rhoynar region under control well enough without burning it to the bare rock.
Our new vassal Silore is an example of that, a fey that preferred to wait out the Valyrians after they made examples of other fey, instead of fighting against the overwhelming power.
Well the hope is that someone will eat a Stun to Celerity into Teleport... right into a Teleport Trap. And then we gank them.@Goldfish, why Earthquake? It doesn't seem likely to kill the enemy, it will make confirming the kill very hard, and it isn't the only way to imprison the enemy.
0/10, I do not approve or understand
That's why Viserys is sending in Janni scouts to check out the place before, during, and after the Earthquake hits. They'll be able to look for tunnels and survivors. I don't expect anyone to be killed, though. Possibly trapped, but more likely fled using Teleportation magic.@Goldfish, why Earthquake? Also, the update where Viserys nuked the Cleric of Asmodeus' hideout and he came out pissed off with all of his tricks rendered irrelevant comes to mind. That's why Viserys is sending in Janni scouts to check out the place before, during, and after the Earthquake hits. The reason I don't want to us go into the house to attack directly is because it sounds like a perfect place for an ambush or trap of their own. If I was using the house like they are, I would load it up with Glyphs of Warding, Symbols of various sorts, Ghoul Glyphs, etc., just waiting for it to be raided by pissed off Trader Town guards and mages.
Something like this?Honestly, I would prefer to use a detection ability (Varys and Janni as recon is a good start) and then Disjunction anyone they see who seems Mind Blanked to Varys' Telepathy.
Spending a lot of spell slots there. Worse, spending actions : the enemy likely knows things have gone wrong already, and may be trying to leave the building.Something like this?
[] Scout the townhouse to learn if our foes have already escaped by unseen means.
-[] Viserys casts Scintillating Scales, Shield, and Greater Arcane Sight so that Varys may benefit from them, Lya uses scrolls of Superior Invisibility and Mind Blank on her, and Varys herself activates her various enchanted items. She'll fly within range of the townhouse to determine how many unwarded minds might wait within, as well as any spells which may have been used to ward it.
--[] Viserys expands an 8th level spell slot to cast Summon Monster VIII via his robe's enchantment to Summon 1d4+1 Jannis. They will accompany Varys while she scouts the vicinity of the townhouse, remaining Invisible and Ethereal, looking for hidden tunnels, other escape routes, and anything else of interest. They will relay anything they find to Varys, who will then share it with us via our Telepathic Bond.
---[] Depending on what Varys and our scouts discover, we will determine how to proceed.
We've already been waiting here for a long time, as we saw in the previous chapter. The extra 18 seconds it takes to buff Varys isn't going to make a difference one way or another, IMO. They'll have fled long ago or will still be within the house. As for spells, the only slots being 'wasted' are a 1st, 2nd, and 7th level slot for Varys and an 8th level slot for the Janni scouts. The spells Lya is casting are all from scrolls. Viserys has plenty of slots to spare and this is why we have Lya scribe high level scrolls to begin with, so they can be used.Spending a lot of spell slots there. It's a solid plan, but IMO it needs to be trimmed down.
