Keep in mind that the economic situation in Westeros is going to go entirely tits up in spring. So 5th month at the latest, there'll be riots in the streets.

Does anyone have the post describing the grain plan? I forget the details.
The gist if it is that we had Littlefinger cause a speculation bubble. Between the usual winter shortages and Robert blocking imports from Essos, food is at a premium right now. Come spring, the embargo will be dropped, harvest ritual fuelled spring harvests dump tons of food on the market, we make it worse by selling dirt cheap grain from our stockpiles and suddenly Westeros will get crippling deflation.

Side effect is the large amount of food ready to be bought up by the Legion while marching through the continent.

How are we bringing the embargo down?

On the one hand, there's been some distance growing between Ned and Bobby over us and the NW. On the other, Bobby's reliably sentimental when he's sad, and his second dad dying will likely send him looking for comfort from his all-but-brother, just like OTL. Even Tywin has to at least partly realize it won't be him, to spite Cersei if nothing else, and I'm not really seeing any other options on the table. Hoster Tully, maybe?

Hmm... assuming Planetos has earth gravity and condidering terminal velocity of human bodies...

How high up are the chambers of the Hand again?
You also have to take into account the odor which permeates King's Landing. It's so thick and pungent that it probably provides a tangible amount of resistance to large bodies falling from height.

💩

Personally, I'm just waiting for news that Robert is missing from court for no reason and a few days later the Inquisition digs up records showing a gentleman called Bobert Raratheon leaving by Terminus to Anun Kelisk, never to be seen again.

So, a shitface. Literally in this case if the fall doesn't break whoever the poor fuck is.

Hmm :thonk: .

Hey Bloodraven, do you want to be a King for a while?

Brynden: "For once, the prospect is not so appealing as before."

That wasn't meant as a joke. Robert might be seriously considering to make a run for it and his options are becoming fewer every day. Sellsword in Essos is out and the Nightwatch would be suicide.

From his perspective, what's there left? The court is filled with nervous people who thought the Lannisters are a safe bet, with everyone else staying away for some inexplicable reason. He doesn't love his kids and hates his wife. His father figure just died. He is estranged from his brothers.

The only one left is Ned and he might be thinking that bringing him to Kings Landing might just result in him too having a very tragic and very unforeseeable accident.

Either this or he is slowly going crazy with hatred in his isolation.

I think I mentioned something like this a few months ago. If offered a chance to leave, no strings attached, to go somewhere far away and live his life how he sees fit, there is actually a decent chance Robert might take advantage of the opportunity.

It's something we could arrange easily enough, but I don't think it would be to our advantage. We're going to retake Westeros, and while we want it to be as relatively peaceful transition with a minimum of violence, there needs to be a bit of bloodletting for political reasons if nothing else. Robert disappearing or abdicating would prevent or blunt some of the necessary roughness.

Of course, we could fake his death if we really wanted to, though Viserys doesn't really have any reason to do that.

Imagine Robert's reaction if we showed up in his bedchamber with a traveler's chest like the one we brought all of Brienne's gear in, full of top of the line enchanted stuff, a pile of Djinni Wind Notes, a coupon to Elaheh's Cosmetic Fleshcrafting shop good for a full body makeover, and a one-way Plane Shift charm keyed to the furthest Djinni outpost we can find on the Plane of Air.

@Goldfish, Robert disappearing at the right moment, leaving Westeros in a succession mess, wouldn't be bad for us.

I'm also still willing to offer "fake Roberts death and quietly exile him" as a concession to ensure Neds compliance to the New World Order.

Aww, but I wanted to have The Moonchaser bomb his face! :(

Eh.
Sure, let's try to use him to grab Ned, why not.

Do keep in mind @Azel, that it may be just a mite OOC for Viserys, it was noted multiple times that we absolutely loathe Bobby IC.

Also also, yeah, I think @TalonofAnathrax is right, we don't really have the means to fight the illithid quickly.
I disagree with the notion of waiting for them to strike first, however, as it can take a very random amount of time.
We're on a clock on... way too many matters.

Bottom line, we'll have Vialesk, Mrdja, and probably at least 2 more Marid Emirates in defensive pact with us against the Squids- and some elite-ish Gith - to blunted the impact.

We'll definitely lose people in the war to come, possibly permanently.
:/

The Efreeti have to be dealt with.
Bottom line, we can utterly ignore the siege of City of Brass.
No PCs, no Moonchaser (who'll be in danger without PCs to begin with), no Dauntless-clqsses.

Just do a hit-and-run on their forge and a ritual afterwards- if we do things right, the Efreeti won't really have the chance to reciprocate by sending forces to PoB - nor the bling to pay such forces to, really.
We'll lose out on PR and lots of profits, sure - but we'll probably keep a lid on Westeros that-a-way.

Viserys is also pragmatic enough to consider thd bigger picture. Besides. It would be exile instead of death, not a pardon and a offering of making him a Targ by marriage to Rhealla.

As for the Illithid, the issue remains that we can't defend against their attacks, so waiting for them to strike first would cost us dearly. Better to treat this like a nuclear war. The first strike must be hard, fast and take out as much of their capability to retaliate as possible.

You know, months ago I sent DP a dangerous and powerful monster that Deep Ones could have. It was something that was both a terrifying saboteur and infiltrator, as well as a deadly combatant. DP said "oh yeah, I already have that as part of my list of things for the Deep Ones to throw at you".
I expect the war against the Deep Ones to do serious damage to our empire, to kill a pile of our troops and PCs (hopefully not Companions, but who knows...), and maybe to release WMDs and bioweapons all over the place.

We're preparing as best we can. A couple more months to build our forces, not to mention outright grow them, might be enough to help mitigate the effects of a war with the Deep Ones.

This weekend we need to place another large Forge order for the month.

You too?
Funny how these things play out.
Azel has given him ideas too.

I wonder if more people did.

I'd like to start the Kobold project at this juncture.

Do you want to merge Undead and Forge ordering in general? Because I also have some ideas in regards of terraforming, and they could do with some more ambulatory bags of disposable HP.
