Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Anyway, I want to touch on just how cool it is to meet a Leigong here and have Yu Nuan get an invitation to his Thunder Palace.

If we are able to tag along with Yu Nuan when she eventually travels to the Thunder Palace (which she should because this is an incredible opportunity) then we would have the opportunity to meet the Leigong's court. Which is great since we are working on SSC and SSC rewards acts of daring, self-expression, and the dealing with spirits of the world.

Being able to engage with spirit courts as well as powerful spirits that hold sway over entire biomes is something that I really want to see continued and developed. And here is a perfect opportunity to do so. Presenting ourselves to this Leigong's court and interacting with them will give us some wonderful experience in dealing with other types of spirits as well as meeting some of the movers and shakers of the wind and thunder spirits.

Also, I just think it would be really cool to go and see a thunder palace. We have an incredibly powerful talisman of flight so getting there shouldn't be too difficult.

[X] Reunions(Ling Qingge & Biyu, Su Ling, Xiao Fen)

Yu Nuan may end up taking some thunder god as a patron, or maybe she won't due to Generic Punk Distrust of Authority, but I feel that LQ shouldn't meddle with that. We already have way too many threads to follow up.

As for basic cultivation arts, I hope that by the time Biyu can start cultivating, LQ will be good enough at art creation to custom-build one for her.

For Biyu, our first custom art or an art that has thousand years of history? Eh....

Not our first custom art, but one custom built for her. Unless she's compatible with EPC and ends up following the Moon like LQ did, we will have access to generic arts which may be old but don't hold a candle to major families'. Besides, that'll still take a while, there's plenty of time for LQ to grow in cultivation and find loads of fortuitous encounters.

Working out the carry was more awkward than she would have liked, even if she was taller than Yu Nuan, having the other girl sit on her back was awkward, and lacking Hanyi's bond and nature, she tended to fall through whenever Ling Qi sped up, maneuvered sharply or crossed distances without moving. Since her hands had to be free, she couldn't keep a hold on Ling Qi's shoulders either. Still, they eventually came to a solution.
I like imagining this from Yu Nuan's perspective as Ling Qi REPEATEDLY DROPS HER ... because Ling Qi has to get used to remaining consistently solidly in a single location instead of habitually teleporting and habitually becoming intangible

Yeah, I've been looking into what kind of things Ling Qi would need to actually train guards in whatever territory she ends up managing, and the moment I went beyond looking at likely platoons, it went from 5 arts (cultivation, melee attack, ranged attack, defense, buff), to almost 30 (successor arts, as well as all the missing arts for filling out a high red's art portfolio, successors for those, and then the specialized shit) and then the pill recipes and talisman plans to support those arts. And I was only considering soldiery, not any of the arts a non-combatant might use.
The average red guardsman will never be able to open enough meridians for even four arts...

Word of God on Meridians and Mooks said:
So it never came up since you've always had good rolls and pills on meridians, but enough partial failures(I.E getting within ~2 of the target number) will eventually cause the DC to tick down one at a time. It is thus possible for even talent 2 guys to get one or two meridians with enough dedication... though obviously your gonna have to get used to a lot of pain and have medical resources available... like if your part of a military or something.

A red level cultivation art which focuses on meridian clearing is also something that gets used, though at that quality level it's usually to the exclusion of all else. Typically though yeah, a talent 2 guardsman is realistically never going to have more than one art to use, maybe two for older and more experienced ones. Their job is deal with day to day spirit beast shenanigans and shepard the mortals about, so that's generally enough. It's much easier for cultivators to reach peak human in attributes and skills after all.

For the Sect, their baseline for mooks is talent 3 which gives them enough leeway to get the first couple levels of current and storm installed at bootcamp with a reasonable amount of resources.
