[X] This is Dawongr Weber's money. The funds will largely go projects within the Karaz Ankor - your tower for one, but also investing in the Undumgi or Ulrikadrin, or purchasing goods made by Dwarven artisans or sold in the markets of Barak Varr.
[X] This is tomorrow's problem. Let the money sit in the King's Armoury for now. Once you've decided what your future will be, then you can decide what to do with the money.

so, 15 favor on a kickass weapon, 10 on getting our tower constructed, 8 on training in rifles and axework? that uses 33 of our 35 dwarf favors. we will want to get the weapon going while Krag and Thorek are here.
We can probably just pay cash for the tower, and the trainer cost was for an entire organization. An individual instructor might we'll be less.

But yeah, this is basically our one-and-only chance to get a weapon that is a collaboration between Kragg the Grim and Thorek Ironbrow. :D

Well, going to the king Thorgrim Grudgebearer and saying "Grudges are shit and if you care about them so much then fuck you" was decidedly not a very diplomatic move from Belegar. However, a bit more attitude like that would probably be healthy for Karaz Ankor, and even if Thorgrim denied Belegar yesterday's glories, he very pointedly did not leave him without support for tomorrow's victories. So it was a pretty good reaction, all in all.

So... that's our dwarf favor... is dwarf rep not decided yet then?

Edit: Nevermind, apparently it got put into the character sheet, but not the update (that I noticed at least)
That's... a hell of a lot of Dwarf Rep though. I'm looking forward to seeing what it is, if we manage to help them take the rest of Eight Peaks.

We have 52(!) Rep with the Dawi? When we had 20, it already had a large effect on how they thought of us, 40 was described as pretty much every Dawi who knows anything about the current goings on of the world knowing of us and thinking we're not too bad. What does 52 mean represent? What do do the Dawi think of us now?

Dwarf Rep is lifetime total earned favour.

To Dwarves, the story of Karak Eight Peaks is pretty much going to be about Belegar, Kragg, Mathilde Weber, and a bunch of other people.

This update was fantastic and I am so glad the Karaz-a-Karak scene won just for how incredibly good it was. It did a great job of illustrating so much setting, characterization, drama, occasional comedy... that was this quest at its best.

Particularly this part.
The most venerable of the Longbeards began to leaf through at the High King's instruction, who then turned his attention to King Belegar. "If you can keep the fight going until a Throng gets there, we may be able to double the harvest of avenged Grudges. How long can your foothold last?"
This. This line was Thorgrim throwing a gauntlet at Belegar, smacking him in the face with it as hard as anyone could. It's a direct statement that he thinks those sapphires are going to be popped right back out of Belegar's crown, that nothing he has achieved will last, that he is not reclaiming a kingdom but establishing a foothold. He spits on Belegar's dreams and deeds in what should have been the moment of triumphant return, and he doesn't even realize he's doing it.

Is it any wonder that Belegar spits right back at him?

[X] This is Magister Weber's money. Make no attempt to push the funds through any of the available loopholes and spend it all in plain sight of the College. You would be beholden to spend it on ways at least nominally good for the Empire, and soon.

On the options, I'd like to shill for getting to know King Kazador and Prince Gotri. If we intend to be the outward facing spymaster, this option is almost invaluable. Having a relationship with King Kazador will give us invaluable information on the state of the reclamation, but Prince Gotri is the one I am really excited about. Having friends on the (air) force would give us a tremendous advantage when it comes to scouting and keeping an eye on our foes. Plus, it makes retrieving our research goodies much easier if we can just hitch a ride on a gyrobomber.

But it's mostly the scouting that does it for me. Aerial reconnaissance is a truly stuoendous advantage in warfare, and now that we have it, we should make sure to keep up good relationship with the guy who can provide it for us.

I kind of dread Belagar meeting the Emperor or any Elector Counts after this, tbh. The roasting is going to be spectacular.
"Hey Emperor! Your manlings did great!"
"But we didn't send any-"
Belegar, /grim stare.

[X] Citadel Tower

Preferred choice is the Citadel Tower, for being close to Belebro and the entertainment of a 50% chance of stymieing any overland attacks with Burning Shadow. Karag Nar penthouse because we proved we can get a good night's sleep there, and for the pleasure of having a full 360 degree view of the entire eastern valley with which to use our ulgu spyglass with.

I want to swing back by the Empire and push that 1/4th remaining gold around. Books and tithes and reports and spreading some gold around in Stirland. I'm normally the first in line to vote for meeting new people, but I feel like the Sky-Thane and Kazador can wait a bit.

We shall make our penthouse tower out of literal gold!

... Yes, I know we have the wrong wind for that, but it would be really cool!

Okay, I might still be slightly miffed at Ranald for that four below par roll, but I still think this is a glorious opportunity.

I wanted these two the last update and I sure as turtles are cute still want them now.

[X] King Belegar is allowing you to use the King's Armoury. Recover your extant study materials from Stirland and tuck them away safely in there.
And if we're going to make some study papers we still need our study materials. We can't look at our cute snake from a distance!

With our rep we can probably just pay cash for most instructors I bet. If we ask to learn the axe they might even do it for free just so we stop using a sword.

Also I fear what a collaboration between Kragg the Grim and Thorek Ironbrow would bring. Probably something terrifying for everyone nearby both during construction and after.

I doubt we can pay cash for Kragg's help enchanting the tower and that is what I personally want.
Our tower options don't seem to be notable magical loci though. These all seem to be good temporary locations but we want to spend our favor on a place that really kicks ass. Right now let's just spend cash for the some renovation and we can pay favor later when we get somewhere really good.

We do still have that debt with the EIC right? Could we just use a portion of our winnings to clear that debt up and either save the rest or deck out our new wizards sanctum with what remains?

So an idea for the tower:

On top of the tower, have a bunch of stuff to cast shadows with, like fires, mirror's and sheets. We could totally munchkin out Burning Shadows by setting it up so we can shadow anything within sight. With help from the dwarves, we could get a really bright light to make sure we can cast a shadow stronger than the sun's if there is any cloud cover.

We could also our tower to be able to cast a shadow in any direction by making/commisioning a contraption that can spin a light around the tower. If we do this around the middle of the tower, the shadow would go on practically forever. We would just need some really bright lights so the shadow can compete with the sun.

Ideally we would want the top of the tower to be used for casting both the Burning Shadow spell and the Lenses Spell to make a Solar Laser.

It kind of has me thinking of a Lighthouse, maybe with someway to store sunlight magically?

Yet! Though whichever dwarf tried to become the first Rune-Engineer would face a hundred thousand dissaproving faces on the way there, and we're maybe hundreds of years too early for that sort of thing...

2. Just 2 favors. And it's making hand-over-whatever the expression was in profits.

We should also remember that the Stirland Watch is no longer helping or protecting the Rat Hunters below Stirland and that they work for Mathilda now.

We need to get them Training and Support to face the Skaven now that we know they are a threat.

Imagine the dwarf favor we would have had if Belegar was as skilled in diplomacy as he is in stewardship. That must have been something like 20 favor in grudgey goodness.
We got like, 8 favor for Castle Draken, so, yeah. Maybe not 20, but most assuredly a really solid chunk.
We have 52(!) Rep with the Dawi? When we had 20, it already had a large effect on how they thought of us, 40 was described as pretty much every Dawi who knows anything about the current goings on of the world knowing of us and thinking we're not too bad.

Imagine RsVH, or , actually, anyone telling Matty to leave the room because she is a filthy witch in the presence of Belegar. Or any other dwarf that was with us in K8P, really.
