The fourth? I know two.The is Lys and Sorceror's Deep. Wait is the Flesh Forge tree giant also?
The Tree of Lys, which is as big as a Giant Redwood IRL, then the Tree of the Dawn Age in Sorcerer's Deep which is one-thousand feet tall, and the Flesh Forge Tree which IIRC should be as big as the Tree of Lys since functionally it had the same sacrifice. It's just shaped like a giant jungle tree rather than a normal Weirwood Heart Tree.

This is a nice first step for followers of Old Gods and Seven, and maybe even the gods themselves will come to at least tolerate each other. They have to see sense in working together against common enemies such as Winter.

As long as the Seven have a blood magic hate boner and the Old Gods have their hate boner it aint coming to pass. At best they will work together temporarily and then go back to hating one another.

Edit: We would be the thing stopping the fighting.

Love it, it's nice and thematic. Also a big yes on more item sacrifices, now-a-days we're looting so much crap from the Efreeti.

Temporary things have a way of becoming permanent if they last long enough. We just need to prevent open war until one of the incoming apocalypses really gets going, and the problem should fix itself.

If the Others delay, then it'll probably be war to the knife, but let's hope they don't catch on to that.

Could someone remind me do the Djinn or Shaitan have a designation for magic items so cursed it would cost more to uncurse them than the base is worth? Because we should have enough trust with both to become that service by now right? Even if it is just giving them to their specialists. We could literally pay them for the service.

God's can change. It's usually a process of centuries, but they can be convinced. Lied to. Shown the error of their ways and even feel empathy for lesser beings.

Though Yss and the old gods aren't big on empathy to be fair :V

Gods have long memories. The Old Gods still remember. It has been 4000 years. Unless you think that the apocalypse will last longer than that I sincerely doubt they will forget.

Depends on whether the Void proper takes the field. If they do, they'll probably do something that makes cutting down weirwoods look like a minor breach of protocol.

Yeah or they could see that and have the grudge be paid back and they could decide after all is said and done to collect their due. We don't want to wait till after the apocalypse because fighting ones own allies after the end of the world is generally frowned upon. But so is breaking ones word.

The Old Gods' rage will lessen once the Seven are humbled.

What we're doing right now is definitely part of humbling the Seven. We're planting Weirwoods in their holy land. They will not be pleased.

Ah, neat. We haven't seen a Soft Strider interlude in a while.

I know but ideally I would like to have the humbling done before the fucking apocalypse. I genuinely do not want to have to collect dues after we beat the Void.

Edit: I would rather not rely on the Void being a jackass to change minds here.

Not going to lie. My sense of scale in regards to this quest is real wonky. Dragon king ball too hard.

To be exact, what we're doing is major belief manipulation, to gods who actually depend solely on that. They are going to be mad as hell. Not as mad as the Fae would have been over blatant story manipulation, but just about.

The Seven will be dealt with way before the apocalypse, rest assured.

It certainly doesn't help that GRRM didn't have a good sense of scale either. :V I'm not sure how true this is, but there's a story circulating that he visited the set of Game of Thrones in the first season and complained that the Wall was way too big... when it was like half as tall as what it was supposed to be and they were going to greenscreen the rest.

It is a 700ft tall 300 mile long wall. How big is it supposed to be if not absolutely massive.

It's tall enough that you can't even reliably shoot people when you're standing on top of it.

That said, it works better in this D&D crossover with magic and monsters.

Hell, it would even work in canon ASOIAF if they bother to show the Giant Ice Spiders.

Oh yeah shooting spiders that climb the side of the Wall. That sounds absolutely terrifying. You are dangling and looking down held on by some rope and beneath you are Giant Spiders. Fuck that. I am out.

It reminds me of Skyrim. They might not have been the strongest monsters, but hell if they weren't fucking terrifying.
Especially when they snuck up on you.

Ever read the in game book about harvesting their venom? At the end it shows a graphic depiction of how that will always eventually end....

OK vote closed. We are going to see the trees on screen next month, for now back to the intrigue in the Crownlands.

There's a real risk that the next update will be weird then. Imagine things in reader mode : the last update ends with a question which is never answered, but is alluded to in 20 pages.
