I bet that with the Planes fucked up like they are, maintaining a stable section of Limbo is more difficult, so it takes more Githzerai living here and focusing to prevent the place from fading away. Might explain why they don't get out much.

We can compensate with exporting more mortals. Because we have teeming millions of poors.

I am actually kind of excited to go around limbo now. Sugar deer sound...

Sweet.

And for all the... Chaos, the sheer breathtaking beauty definetly came through.

[X] Speak to the Grandmaster
-[X] Engage Saruk in conversation as he leads us to the Grandmaster. Gently try to learn as much from him of the Githzerai and the Monastery of the Unbroken Circle without seeming to interrogate him. Reciprocate if he asks and there is time, telling him of Sorcerer's Deep and the Plane of Balance.
-[X] When we meet the Grandmaster, be polite and grateful for the opportunity to speak with them, but do not beat around the bush. Tell them why we have come, of the Deep Ones infesting our world, and our hope for gaining allies among the Githzerai, who are said to be among the fiercest foes of the Mindflayers and their ilk.

It's not that easy or the planes would not have an economy, Most things crafted in Limbo decay to nothing when taken off plane.

And one distracted mind is an open gate in the fortress-wall and a shout to all nearby predators.

Limbo is a great place for a mage-tower, but not for loads of civilians.
Maybe we can make a branch of the Scholarum here, but nothing bigger.
I think Limbo may have a sizeable human population. I remeber reading somewhere humans live on every plan at least a little bit.

Edit: @Goldfish defining exactly what "allies" entails may be helpful for negotiations. Are we after soldiers? Teachers? Information? Ect?

Damn, I just now realize, that we should have taken Ting and/or Adamantine Golem with us.
:V

[X] Goldfish

Worst case, we don't get any support, but we still have them as a market, and whooo boi, do psionic items have some sweet sweet bullshit

I would be surprised if there aren't humans here somewhere, but living in Limbo requires significant willpower and mental discipline and large settlements are difficult to maintain. For this Monastery to be so large, there must be a very large number of Githzerai in constant meditation reinforcing it's existence.

I'll take whatever they're willing to share with us. Soldiers would be great, but so would Psionic lore, intelligence related to the Deep Ones, etc.

What we need are a force actually capable of standing off strategically (much less tactically) against the Deep Ones. The location of all their assets and military forces is really inconvenient to most of our force projection, and even if we can attack installations and wipe out forces by gathering PCs in strength that weakens us on other fronts significantly, and Varys' whole strategy counted on us gathering to attack them, meaning obviously Tiamat is ready and willing to try it too, and why wouldn't the Devils, who have been fighting the Deep Ones just as much as they have the Lannisters (if not more)?

We need enough military force from mercenaries or allies that we can split off a strike team of PCs but keep the other half ready to respond to any attack on our holdings, basically.

Yeah, but what we need might not be what we get. An army of Psionic Murder Monks would be ideal, though I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much.

An army would be the best case scenario, but a strike team of PCs alongside teachers for psionic and monk arts would be great as well.

Don't forget to get Psi-crafters along with all the best Psi-gear for Jeyne Weaver.

EDIT: Also don't forget to get Gith Smiths if we can. IIRC they have an ASF modifier just like Fey Smiths.

Crafters! Yeah, that would be really nice, too.

I think most of their able bodies and hardened combatants would already be fighting the deep ones.

It's not like they are actually hiding. Definetly not in Nirvana.
