It's a throwaway vote without actually trying to put critical thinking of what it takes to actually be a good villain.

You know, I would be arguing up and down on why we should put our own needs and agenda ahead of Team Seven-Who-Kill-Fun, but we've basically painted ourselves into a corner here.
Fair. Honestly, my only problem is that it feels too reactionary, like we're letting them judge us. That's why I was all for Goldfish's plan of pointing out everything that made us decide Lucan was an enemy. But I'm also all for having that conversation with Lucan in person so we can say it to his face.

Honestly, it does feel like alignment-based choice again.

And I hate that.
I hate that we are slowly remodelling the way Viserys is being played.
I hate the slow change of narrative in-thread.

And I very much hate that justifications for Lucan's actions seemingly come into play retroactively now, with ffffucking Baelor being the main offender.

I don't like where we are. This whole thing was a shitshow, but I wasn't very invested to begin with, so I dealt with it

I don't like where we are going. I can't stomach that we are compromising with Lucan, that we are taking the bullshit of "he's not the man you thought him to be" to this extreme, with all the proof we have that he is against us.

I don't want to compromise. Plain and simple, this hurts me right now.

Imma gonna leave for now. I am being unreasonable, but so does the quest, to my subjective feeling.

I don't even have anything that I like, to focus on right now in order to feel better :/

Not that I'm actually entertaining the idea, but how do you intend to even pull that off? we know very little about their internal working, would have to fool angels and everyone they've made a deal with... It's just not feasible.
It's a protest vote since we know that there's no way in hell people will vote for it but also don't agree with the popular vote.

Also, congrats @Duesal best of luck in the job search.

The sad part about all this is that... well. It would have been more convenient to murder Lucan ages ago.

And I don't mean that that was the correct choice. Only convenient.

I'll admit, I personally love playing characters of the Good alignment, and even I feel weird about this whole thing,
Viserys has been established as "neutral willing to do bad thing for reasons that further his own interests" for so long, that having him capitulate entirely on that worldview because someone he barely even knows chastises him about it just seems jarring.

It felt weird with Syrax, and it feels weird now.

Congratulations Duesal ! Best of luck on your job search !

The deadline I've been bitching about in PMs (and may have mentioned here the other day) and have been struggling against for weeks has just passed a few minutes ago.
My contract for my next real job is signed (it'll only last a few months, but it's finally in the field that I want instead of tourism/teaching/assistant gigs!), my applications for future studies are sent in (the odds are looking good!), my final exams are done (odds of failure are minimal, so I'm celebrating graduation tomorrow and not waiting weeks for the results) and the research project I was working on (as a mere assistant) has completed its second phase.
Yes, all those deadlines were on the same night : between the 16th and 17th, with the final one at 3 AM French time. Fun fun fun.

DP, expect more NPCs in the next few days !

Oh god damn it I think I figured out the deal with Baelor. Was it ever explicitly stated that he was out to kill us? Because if not I can think of a third king he might have been created to kill.

The Night King.

Bitter fruits of dreary yesterdays.

We ignored Westeros in favor of empire building and we are merely reaping what we have sown.

I would remind you that the Lords who have pledged to Viserys have mostly been doing so after being directly approached and romanced over into the idea of it. Either for gold, or glory or vengeance, or just because they think a popular uprising will make their already loyalist tendencies non-suicidal. But basically and virtually no one, not even diehard Targ loyalists like the Brunes, offered their allegiance right out the gate.

Granted, Eustace Brune basically said he would march straight to King's Landing with us if we asked him to before we had a network of fellow loyalists prepared. So some had more balls than others.

It took until recently before people started swearing to the Dragon Banner for reasons other than perceived ability to gain something out of the bargain.

We are used to dispensing with people like they are obstacles, because the moral obligate was in our favor most of the time and we ended up justified in hindsight most the time we took some extremely morally grey action because the people we were doing it to were just as bad as it deserved, if not worse.

We can wave good bye to that, one way or another. We should start getting used to it.

Possible. Honestly, my opinion is that it doesn't really matter whether he was explicitly made to kill us, he still came for our heads the first chance he got. Opportunism speaks even worse than prupose, honestly.

The Night King being a thing as the Big Bad (TM) is something the TV show made up right?
While the Night King as the former Lord Commander of the Wall is still a thing, the "Night King that is the sole leader of the Others" thing might not be.

There's really also no reason for the Seven to immediately jump to trying to murk the Others with a murderblender while they are distracted with their enemies (the Old Gods) either.

Nice! Congratulations, dude. May 17th is looking to be a good day for questers.

Doubtful, the Night King that would show up is only a thing in the shows, in the books the others are more of a faction of fae than whatever the White Walkers where.

And again, the Seven have beef with thw Old Gods and Valyrians, not the Fae

I sincerely doubt that he could get close enough to even do the job but now we have his template so we can do their plan.

Edit: Right show canon isn't book canon. Statement retracted.

Man with almost every major update the author seems to drive away a long time voter/plan maker, I mean first Azezal and now snowfire, it seems like whatever spark used to be here is gone now in favor of blunt updates and a refusal to fix the mistakes that are made, and that doesn't really seem to work for people.

Super glad that's not true.

That's a relief.

But while you're here, can we craft and Old Gods champion primed against the Night King or Night Queen if the Others ever manage to raise them against us?
Ask again some other time, this is definitely not a moment for me to ponder this.

Honestly, it does feel like alignment-based choice again.

It isn't. When you come to the core of it, it's a Pokemon choice.

If you want it, give up your plans.
If you want your plans to succeed, accept that the Pokemon will be forever lost to you, either by sustained hatred or murder.

We are here because the people want both the plan and the Pokemon.

Their are finely crafted votes available that sacrifice the Pokemon for the plan, just as Viserys used to do.
