I'll adjust it, but just in general this entire series of events has been fairly training and bitter for Viserys so I feel some semblance of the "facade" cracking not only makes us more human, but honestly channels the thread's feelings, on either side of the divide about this arc.
I honestly think it's what is being demanded. Either by the QM's or by our past actions or just plain moral accountability. This feels appropriate and character driven.
its almost like this being viserys moral cracking point would have been much better than syrax, that 2 update arc that can still be retconned at any time.

But that's way too much weariness. Kidnapping Pixie was unintentional, our bad. But we had several good reasons to go after Lucan's entourage.

"Oh my, oh my, am so so sorry" feels fake.

That's one of the reasons I didn't like it either. Viserys shouldn't be weary, he should be annoyed at being called a man who crafted a Hell-on-Land, to his face no less, and being called paranoid for believing he was in enemy territory while surrounded by the people who, to the best of his knowledge, had been acting like his enemies.

That caught me flatfooted, too.
I cant tell if me already thinking it worked that way means its more sane to think that or less sane.

To be frank, I don't overly mind. I've genuinely been having a whole lot of fun with the conclave, even if things really were not going our way since the beginning. Lucan being reasonable just made him more interesting, even if I was disappointed by him apparently putting the God as a person above the values which made him follow said God.

But the latest two updates... Weren't fun. The penultimate one had me going "huh, why am I thinking of Embra right now?". The last one had Viserys follow the plan like an automaton and it ended up looking like two entirely different conversations were taking place.
Kind of pretty much yeah. I've handwaved uh. Syrax? This is nothing.

*blink*

Am I older or younger?
I am 23

So, I just got back from mowing my yard, and apparently people are being all angry at each other? I don't really have the patience to go digging through however many pages I missed, so here's a funny thought to make people happy. Imagine the looks on Danelle and Lucan's faces if and when they realize the sheer scale we work on and all our other problems. This whole Conclave mess, funnily enough, is pretty much a day at the office to us. An important day, perhaps, but the Faith, which is pretty much everything to them, are just one of the dozen fires we're trying to put out on a regular basis, and not even important enough to rank in the top five, such as Mammon, Tiamat, The Deep Ones, The Sultan of Brass, and of course Winter.

I voted for the plan I did because I wanted to wait for DP clearing up whatever he feels he wants to clear up before changing tracks

And because I knew Goldfish was going to jump to a more sensible ship, namevotes are like that :V

Vote for plan TCD people! I shall bribe you with imaginary cookies :p

And that should absolutely be part of the characterization of Viserys in the update.

I had both that and a moral compass since forever. I just choose to ignore them.

This was more seeing something I once loved and for the first time really comprehending the rot that I have felt for so long.
It's not your fault dewd. It's human nature. Ugly, savage, beautiful, self contradictory human nature.

Show them... the pile of paperwork.

Viserys in my plan isn't guilty that he crafted a realm that is just and prosperous and actually gives two shits about the average person, whereas in Westeros killing your own peasants often results in zero consequences except in the most extreme cases. You just have to be quiet about it.

He's tired because nothing has gone according to plan, and I feel that deserves some recognition.

You're definitely a "regular"
Whatever that words means here seems to change a lot (sometimes I'm one, sometimes I'm not - and then there's @zxzx24 or @Tomcost who've been here for ages but aren't main posters, or poor @BeepSmile who's around a lot but who always seems to get forgotten because he doesn't have a profile pic...)
Artemis1992 is a regular, right?

*blink*

Am I older or younger?
You're not only a regular, but also a certified adult.

Duesal is a weirder case because he's still in uni, but also seems to be in his twenties. Same for Crake. TNE too (not sure why I assume everyone counts TNE as a regular, his posting dramatically decreased 1.5 years ago... But his posts are always insightful, so maybe that's why?).

@Crake, for the record, the next best moment for a meeting between Viserys and the Chosen would be after the days votes in the evening.

[X] Plan Re-Evaluate the Course
-[X] In a single conversation, and all of the proceeding events of the Conclave, one thing has become apparent to you about Danelle: Not just sincerity, but of risk, compromise. She has come here to both act as a Martyr for Lucan to exploit for the sake of the people she hopes to defend, but also a statement in of itself. She has met you half way, and she is begging you to meet her.
-[X] You despise self delusion. You have chosen many rigorous, often thankless courses, stomped on lives like ants just in the course of an average day of rulership and statesmanship. What you have done is torment a woman who has done you no wrong and made her fret and put her life in your hand, with determination or resignation, it almost doesn't even matter.
-[X] Step back. Have Dany release the hostages.
-[X] With some fair degree of honest weariness: "Once you have confirmed their safety, I would like to speak, as I am now, with Brother Lucan." But not alone. During the evening, Danelle and Lucan will meet with Viserys and Dany. You're all for accepting some more bitter truths, but not without the support of your sister.
-[X] There's no point in laying out a list of demands or motivations or goals. Hear out both of their concerns and their motives. If they care even a little about you hearing them out, they will share what they think is necessary, and you will tacitly ensure they know they can ask for clarification from you if it is required for them to share more. This time calls for clear communication, no more and no less.

I ended up switching majors and had to spend an extra year because a lot of my courses didn't carry over. I graduate tomorrow.

...I really, really hate that Baelor is going to be getting justifications now.

This is a railroad, plain and simple.
For ethical reasons, or to subvert expectations...
I don't really care, to be honest.

I'm just finding myself in agreement with those annoyed by how it is all pushed down on us.

But, not annoyed enough to care.
This is a shitshow, and I'm watching the fireworks go.

[X] Plan full Evil Overlord
-[X] Turtle her, then look for Lucan to turtle too. Deal with them and their friends later.
-[X] Impersonate both at the Conclave to do what we intend to do.

(
I'm very much unwilling to back down on anything, yes. And since it's this, or backing down, I'm going all-out)
