I know that someone will suggest it, so : I am voting against murder. This is a diplomatic opportunity !

The ideal situation here would be to continue on our course but Diplomance the Archon too. It would be difficult, but also amazing ! Perhaps a shift towards institutional arguments about the long-term effects of the Faith Militant ?
A more likely outcome would be information-gathering.
To actually turn the angel we would have to talk eye-to-eye, as Viserys.
Dywin the begging brother can't do much here, at most lay a seed of doubt we can later utilize, but I doubt it.

@Snowfire don't forget to act at least a little starstruck, were supposed to be a devout follower of the 7.

Edit: oh, also

@DragonParadox did we happen to catch what they were discussing.

Also tea and scones. Goodness. That mental image made me chuckle.

@Snowfire maybe talk to angel openly in wanting to know about Lucan himself and that we would gladly hear more about him from the angel himself? Has the benefit of being the truth and we can play it off as a Brother who simply wants to remove rumor from true fact.

Oh, damn...it's right here in front of us. Without allies. Such an opportunity, such a gamble...

No, this is a @Snowfire type of opportunity, not a Goldfish one.

Way ahead of you. But thanks :)

This is going take a while to write out, however. @DragonParadox could I suggest an interlude to give me time without feeling like I'm snarling things up?

Can we get a small council interlude reaction to the traitor tournament. We have enough spies in the SC that it will not spoil much maybe from either blood raven POV or the grand master

Fellow threadgoers; please, at least pretend we aren't leaning on Snowfire for this so much.

Take the X out of your boxes at least untill he posts an actual vote. ;)

One big thing I've been thinking on is that a spilt in the faith of the seven will be highly likely to lead to a civil/religious war. (A very bad thing imo). A split in the seven a) looks like it will be more useful for humbling them to the OG than their faithful warring, as we might be able to convince one or two of them to apply pressure to the elements that pushed to commit the Andolos genocide of the native Westorsi and b) leave a lot more people alive to help face the long night c) not have Westeros be on fire, and this one, would be of our causing either.

... Oh, nice @fan550, but please, call it the "Traitor's Tourney." If our foes wish to give us such awesome names/titles to use, it seems rude to not use them ;)

Then again, politics can spin, and usually should spin, into big discussions, and right now, threading the needle of the conclave is already taking a lot of mental attention from me ATM. Not that I'm throwing out many ideas :/

You say that, but my interpretation is that the Old Gods need the Seven to be humbled for the genocide done against them by the Andals, enough for the calmer voices to drown speak down/hold back the louder that would call for vengeance still, the ones that would never be sated.

The splintering of the faith idea is one method by which that can be achieved/enabled, but your wording leads to an unfortunate obfuscation of what our actual goal/deal is WRT the old gods and the seven situation.

Perhaps try linking to the story posts where we made the deal with the OG (via BR, or links to "Word of DP" posts?

Edit: that septon messing with Richard's mother was being influenced by a Deep One. This is known IC and OOC. Please change that bit of your post

In fact, your very "DP quote" has the suspicion of "bullshit" in it right there, which was later confirmed as Deep One activity.
Got it, thanks. Unfortunately, you seem to be incorrect about what the old gods require. Here's a DP post that clarifies:
Unfortunately not, it will probably take at least until the Faith explodes into squabbling denominations.

We're in a high pressure situation, I'm not surprised people are name-voting a comptetent writer for a diplomatic vote. That said, still trying to think about Lucan. Know your enemy and all that.

His objective. Uniting the faith obviously, forming them into a shield to guard the realm of men. This is a man that I think takes a very defensive, turtleling (strategically I mean) approach to conflict. He's been gathering forces, allies, trying to get everyone on the same page. I don't think he's inclined to rash behavior.

I think his plan is straightforward: get everyone working together under him by the end of the conclave, establish his authority. Then, beginning the so called "weeding" of his garden, removing dissidents after the fact. I don't think much trickery will come from him.

Does anyone have other views in his personality/goals? @Snowfire @TalonofAnathrax anyone good with basic empathy please chime in/link me to what you've previously said if I'm being lazy and didn't read it.

@DragonParadox what values would be antithetical to followers of the father/what traits would the father abhor? Bad leadership/lordship in the Westerosi sense I assume, but are there other things?
