Holy book got great. How long will it take to actually read? Want to know so we have time to read it before the Faith meeting.

We can read it immediately by using Scholar's touch but it won't be a deep reading. So it comes down to if we want a deep understanding of the texts or if we want a basic one. So either a couple of minutes for a basic understanding or a day for a deep one.

Yep. We can read it pretty much immediately and have a very solid understanding on all scripture.

Then my answer is a deep one. Still got days to go for the Faith meeting. Need to really understand them to get what we want.

I was conflicted when the Devils started carrying around Beads of Newt Prevention. On one hand I was a bit smug we were that much of a threat. Then it became annoying. The fiends are becoming as hard to catch as rats these days.

This. @D King Hecht, this thread is in no danger of any of the pitfalls you're worried about. Rather ironic given the blood sacrifice and mad science, but the point still stands.
To the best of my knowledge no one in thread wants to pull a crusade on the heathens.

At the absolute worst all we want to do is break the backs of the more assholish gods and get them to toe the party line.

Well that and sacrifice them to our godly allies/eat them, but that's a victim-less crime really.
Alright, thank you both for your comments as I do not want anything to happen to this wonderful quest.

Here you are.

Agreed. We should read it deeply so that we can bludgeon the faith harder during the conclave. We can probably cordon off a day

You think I come without backup?

Commune with Texts

During the spell's duration, you can search the texts and immediately find the most relevant information regarding any topic the collection holds, potentially including singling out spellbooks or scrollscontaining individual or particular types of spells.

Psychic Asylum

While within the mindscape, you can consult any text, recall any conversation, or remember any image that you have been exposed to with perfect clarity and recollection, as if you had an eidetic memory.

I can guarantee we will have a better general understanding of it than all but the most devoted, our ability to recall specific lines and examples to make a point far exceeds even that.

-[X] First and foremost, scry Ser Garth and see where he is as well as who he's meeting with.
--[X] Continue having him monitored so you can immediately rescue him if necessary.
-[X] Do some cursory work and check on the septon's sympathies, see if you can find out who he's in communication with.
--[X] After finding out what you can, go meet with Lord Hightower and bring up these suspicions. If necessary, deflect blame from Lynesse by pointing out you have been investigating Lucan quite heavily.
-[X] In the meantime, contact Yrael, and ask that he and a few Archons go to Whitehead Keep and publicly (and safely, no unnecessary risks) free Septon Dondar. That man is one whose preaching will lead to a land of more tolerance and peace, he must survive. His chances will be greater if he is seen to have divine blessings.
--[X] They don't need to talk if the questions asked are awkward. Their only goal is to be seen while freeing Septon Dondar.
--[X] Send Dany with them to serve as the mouthpiece if needed as well as to fight with them should any surprises pop up.
--[X] They are to be backed by Yss divinations to make sure that no nasty surprises are waiting for them.

I bow to your superior wisdom. All hail. But in all seriousness I completely forgot about that set of spells. Yeah that would make our lives so much easier. And help us with all this.

But why though?

I've been waiting a while to abuse it, as long as the works we received are complete and accurate our knowledge would be so overwhelming the following should be a valid vote.

[\] Bludgeon the (insert religious obstacle) with pointed examples at every turn to achieve X, Y or Z.

Religious texts are full of contradictions and our tools of recall to manipulate interpretation is just straight up unfair compared to anyone not mainlining the information like scripture IV.

Dondar is the septon that Yrael, his archon minions, and Dany are being sent to rescue. He's the heretic who is preaching that each person should be their own septon, and that they have an innate duty to seek their own truth.

Needless to say a dissenting opinion like that is a gold mine for Azel, so he should be at the Conclave once rescued.

Oh yeah, that dude. Planetosi names are hard for me to remember.

Yeah, he'll be a prima addition to the spectacle.

@Goldfish, to facilitate this, perhaps something along these lines?

--[] After rescuing Septon Dondar, Dany is to arrange his transport to Oldtown to the Conclave (preferably without hinting at our identities) so that he is able to meet with the Begging Brother Dywen.
