Holy shit, Xuan Shi has S25 Physical Armor. I wonder if the other ducal scions have S level stats as well. Is Xuan Shi Green 2 or Green 3?
The vote here seems fairly easy. Xuan Shi's defenses are amazing and we seem to have the strongest offense.

What's the logic behind everyone choosing defense? That option doesn't seem to make sense with LQ's and XS's stats in comparison to the Guardian's.
EDIT: It seems like the purpose of the offense is to find weaknesses only, not to attack. Our defenses are good enough to handle the Guardian anyway. The wording of the choices also seems to imply that Xuan Shi could find a way to completely disable it, which we probably can't do.

Xuan Shi has great defenses, but in this context, 'Be the defense' likely includes using FVM to debuff it and wear it down. Xuan Shi is a Formations specialist, and we're fighting a construct. This is literally his natural prey.

We got CDE and a very, very good combat perception thanks to it.
And beside if we can't find a solution, let's break it with our spiritual attacks, that are superiors to Xuan shi physical attacks.

Murderizing the thing is always the solution in xianxia. Moreover, out of the two of us, we have the best perception. If our goal is finding a weakness, we will have more chance than xuan shi to do so.

Combat perception may be only one factor, though. Xuan Shi's the only one who knows anything about the story.
Also I think Turtle Boi would prefer us to not wreck his dork temple

Xuan Shi's P Armor outclasses the construct's attacks in a serious way. Also Ling Qi isn't just some thug, I think she can figure out the trick here if there is one. CDE has both a tech to find secrets and a combat thinker tech.
And if we can't find a trick, there's always FSS.
