All this talk of Time Dragon reminds me of that dead "Tyrranids in Warcraft-verse"-quest I once binged.

To this day, I still have sadness, that they haven't eaten that ripe and fresh Bronze Dragon's body, or any of the Infinites lying around.
:'C

FYI that Time-Dragon ability that Snowfire quoted is only a problem if we get close or try to target it. Nothing stops us from filling the entire area with AoE attacks from outside, buffed with True Casting. And having Greater Anticipate Teleportation + lost of couterspellers to keep it from closing will help.
Mythic Shadow of the Doom anyone? :D

Still, I would advocate running first.
Well no. I would advocate DIPLOMANCY, because recruiting one would just be so amazing :D

OK so I was thinking about team fights and I have to ask, you guys are fine with higher levels in in this competition right? I want to use the drow as well as Siduri and Yrten, maybe Relath too.

It's a Psion, though. And it's travel through time and space ability is Ex with no additional descriptors :V

Also, technically you're lacking line of effect on anything inside the effect :p
Cue the insanity of how total concealment can, by RAW, stop fireballs.

Hrrrmm on one hand I agree with the points made that maybe starting a very antagonist shadow war against the Court of Stars before properly trying to Diplomance any of the Courts directly seems hasty and this guy doesn't seem like a great bet to start one with anyways..

On the other hand even if we could've pasted her battle wise, it's pretty clear that Dusk Dancer is actually considered pretty high up and likely that her attitude and goals are the overarching goals of the Court. So given our single interaction and everything we've learned since then, it's all painting a bleak picture on whether we can Diplomance from our current position. And we'd have to lay groundwork for breaking up the court waaaay before any decision point to break up the court. Also agree that this guy as an individual is less important than his ability to serve as a narrative "rebel" that others can latch

[X] Accept, it is as much as you would to for any sworn to you
-[X] Of course, he must in turn swear to never deliberately allow himself to be captured when be would normally be able to flee, or would have made the attempt to flee, if he did not have our assurances.

I think it's be wise to activate old Glyra protocols tbh and provisions on not messing around with Imperium citizens. Even if his main beef if with the Court of Stars, I'd think he'd would try to mess with us or our citizens if he sees a chance.

AKA: "I'm lazy and I've run out things to throw at you."

Later...

Defeated: "Why should I allow this?"

"Because winning conventionally isn't possible, and if you're going to run a session with one of these as the main encounter..."

DM: "...either allow you to cheese around it or end the campaign?"

"I really don't see how you didn't see that coming."

I agree with @Azel
And Snowfire, you'd have to be using the 3.5 Epic Time Dragons. Because the Pathfinder Time Dragons are boring and weak, and could be killed by Viserys like any other Great Wyrm. Their big power is casting Time Stop... Big whoop, any Great Wyrm can :D
I don't remember the stats for 3.5 Time Dragons, but I know the PF version can time travel three times during it's lifetime. It's hard to win against something that can just go back and kill your parents before you are born.

Exhibit A of why you never introduce one of these as an antagonist. If the party chooses to make it one, well, that's their funerary pyre.

Unless you can time travel too. :p

You have a limited number of a spell slots. A 3.5 Time Dragon is not nearly so limited :V

As good a reason not to include them in a setting as any.

Two different schools of thought.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing. But at Epic levels, getting right down to balance in the universe where Time Travel spells do exist, the existence of Time Dragons is an effective counterpoint to the question of "Why doesn't everyone go back in time to ensure victory?" The answer being that the smart ones fire a high power Divination spell at the consequences and get "Swift and painful death" back as the result.

No, we didn't go merrily waltzing through Essos killing anyone we didn't like. We created laws, and executed those who broke them. In practice, this tended to correlate to the same thing because a huge amount of Essosi magisters were absolutely monsterous, but I assure you there are still plenty of 'bad' people who support us, just as there will be Westerosi lords who treat their peasants poorly and are selfish meanies that serve us.
Ok, I seem to have not come across properly;
First I assume that we're gonna apply the same laws to Westeros as we do to Essoi.
Second that hunting peasants for sport is about as bad the monsterous Essoi magisters.
Ergo, we're going to kill Westerosi lords that get up to things similar like that.
Why is that our policy? because those people are generally millimeters away from working with demons/devils, just like that prince just did.

That's what I wanted to express, Westerosi lords that are similarly monstrous as the Essoi ones are gonna get killed.

I would still be in favor of allowing the people to choose team-size between 1 and 4, to allow for some balancing against the stongest.

Also out with the 1-mage rule.

On the time-travel, you know what I would like?

A method (machine or spell) of timetravel that can only be used for petty purposes.
Want to go back to change the past? Nope.
Want to go back to hit Aerys in the face? Sure. You won't do permanent damage, won't help or worsen his paranoia, you will just have the satisfaction of having appeared from nowhere and punched the bastard in his smug face.

So, an advanced simulation built over Akashik Records.

We are moving somewhere in Shadowrun territory, here :/

Sign me up. Lya's Mythic capstone seems to be the thing for this :V

She was also passive aggressive and argued dishonestly to keep Redwyne on her side, the fey did not exactly greet you with open arms. I'm not saying you can't negotiate with them, jut reminding you guys that the relationship started quite antagonistically, with you grabbing a relic they had been looking for and them throwing up metaphorical barricades.
I remember her quite well.

I just don't believe ordering an insurrection is a good way to go about this.

But I'm clearly outvoted.

We are not ordering an insurrection. We are starting a unofficial recruitment drive among the discontent members of the Court of Stars. Nothing less and nothing more.

And if they want to accuse us of more, it's their onus to prove that and our chance to nail them with unpleasant stories that shake their grip on the Reach.

Personally I would just drop the 1 caster rule, so that Amrelath has some semblance of resistance on his way to victory.
Inb4 he gets drugged to death by angry drow exploiting the "drugs aren't poisons" RAW :D

More seriously, some decently buffed melee combatants with good magical support have a chance. Will such a party have entered the battle?
Well, maybe not. But the 2 Drow + Bronn + a Minotaur could make a good showing if needed, for example. Spread fire resistance, miss chances and attack buffs to everyone and then attack attack attack!
Some healing would be nice, but... Yeah. The 1 caster rule is a problem, unless Bronn is throwing gold at the problem.

Make an actual vote. You may be surprised.
