[X] Viserys will go to speak with Darkstar and, past soothing bruised egos, will note that he doesn't fail to recognize those with skill and valor, and with said recognition usually comes many boons, especially to those in his direct service...
-[X] Send Richard to speak with the young lord Connington. They might be amenable to ties more lasting, at least securing a meeting with their father.
-[X] Send Waymar to speak with the young lord Redford. Same reasoning as above.
-[X] Have Tyene send your congratulations for the bout to Ser Philip. That was well-struck. See to it that he is given a decent pair of steel plate before the next tilt--normally impossible on short notice, but we can fabricate to specifications. Also heal his eye.
-[X] In similar vein, congratulate Ser Bonnifer and grant him some decent armor as well.
-[X] Make a note to speak with Roger Hill later on.

@Crake have someone soothe Darkstar by essentially admitting we were expecting him to win, but luck is a fickle mistress. Also non-subtly dropping off hints that he should have noticed many of the most skilled in our service were already as well, or better, equiped than the prize winners. That being skilled, such as someone who came so far and only lost due back luck hint hint nudge nudge, is a sure way to prosper and be acknowledged in our service.

Also, talk with Foote, and personally heal his eye and lend him some unmarked plate.

And also Ser Bonnifer, he is wearing shitty half-plate, just bullshit it as it looking too worn for a joust. Which isn't wrong, jousting armor was actually ridiculously reinforced.

Nis let's just take a moment to imagine how chilling this was.

What about Elia, Rhaella and Rhaenys?

Decent? Ideas? Any others you wanna grab?

I don't really wanna steal Zherys' man for example, intriguing as I find him, honestly I kinda just wanna steal Zherys.

I believe Zherys is almost stolen at this point. The isolation his position and personality out him in makes Viserys & Co people he can talk to as peers+.

Remember the Bey Assassination? Humanized him throughly, that.

But @LonelyWolf999 can point out the badest of asses around.

Nope. I've raised the point before, people don't seem to be overly worried.

@Duesal how long has it been since he got cursed?
Ah, the Archer of the Wild Hunt?

When he was cursed:
Twelfth Day of the Twelfth Month 292 AC
Now:
Twenty-Sixth Day of the Eighth Month 293 AC
It's been more than eight months.

Then again, we literally have nine years, and I highly doubt that deer is going down any time soon.

I thought it was one year.

@Crake make the talk with Darkstar more about recognition than anything, the way you've out it it sounds a lot like his intentions were purely mercenary. But recognition is what he really wants.

Something like "have XXX mention how Viserys doesn't fail to recognize those with skill and valor, and with said recognition usually comes many boons, especially to those in his direct service..."

Anyway, perhaps Viserys should talk to him directly, while Tyene handles Foote? The implicit recognition would ring far louder.

Alternatively, she can soothe that bruised ego with making it implicit that Viserys expected him to win an easy victory and probably bring home a blade and good words about him and his rule. A good note at this point would be how well equipped everyone in Viserys' direct service ends up being as a matter of course...
This is likely to infuriate him further. He lost a tilt that he should have won by a landslide, so telling him he was expected to win is just rubbing salt into the wound.

Done.

Edit: Switching names.

It's the phrasing. Noting that is meant to underline how Viserys had faith in his skill.

That Viserys recognizes it was bad luck.
That's not what he will hear.

Instead I would suggest:
-[] Personally talk with Darkstar. Tell him that you didn't like to call him down like this, but you didn't want to see a promising knight like him throw it all away over a few unlucky jousts.

[X] Talking to the Knights
-[X] Have someone privately ask Ser Bonnifer Hasty if he wants to be granted some better gear or is comfortable with what he currently bares.
-[X] Ask the Inquisition to give you a report on Ser Roger Hill.
-[X] Personally meet with Darkstar. Downplay the importance of the joust and suggest earning glory in the best way he has available.
-[X] Publically congratulate Ser Philip Foote for making it this far with dogshit gear and missing an eye. Ask if he wants us to fix that.
-[X] Keep tabs on Halys Belmore and Vardis Sunderland in case they're looking for an opportunity to represent their houses.

We'll handle Connington, Redfort, and the rest when they show up in the lists.

Any and all werebears who are not proponents of a disgusting and self destructive philosophy inimical to the peaceful governance of the Imperium are to be welcomed with open arms.

[] Viserys goes talk to Darkstar and generally soothe his ego. Mention how, from what we'd seen of him, we were confident he should have won that tilt, but we recognize he lost essentially due bad luck.

Like so?

Any ideas on what to do with Darkstar once we recruit him? I was musing on putting him straight into adventuring and clearing out barrows.
