We can work out the kinks when the time comes. That said, the plan is a lot less meaningful if we send someone in disguise. Half the point is for anyone who happens to witness who actually knows what to look for to realize that it's a legit celestial rather than someone under a ribbon or something.
Were trying to start peasent rumors, not flip the 7s champions. Most people in Westeros don't even know what angels look like.

Honestly, them failing isn't the issue I'm most concerned about.

Us asking them to do something contrary to their nature is. This seems to be cutting very close to that line, and taking a big risk with the whole plan.

For the benefit of "someone watching this whole thing with true sight will see an Archon rescuing him".

Which doesn't make sense to me, because most people spying on them with powerful magic will be able to out 2 and 2 together.

Sandor has dibs on killing Gregor
Good man, you gotta respect dibs.

I'm now honestly disgusted with the way that Pen and Paper systems are evolving, since this all feels eerily familiar.

As someone who prefers 5e to previous editions, and not by a small margin, I'm deeply curious about what issues people have with it that cause these sorts of reactions. TNE was kind enough to lay out his issues with it, and they helped me see why someone would prefer the older editions even if I don't agree, but disgust seems all out of proportion with what he laid out. I'd be interested to talk with you and @Snowfire about your issues, but don't want to cause a long thread derail.

@DragonParadox So I'm curious, how did Oberyn know about Clegane's real motivations?

Did we brief him? Was he doggedly searching for a reason to hate him, but found more than he bargained for?

Inquiring minds.

BTW for anyone wondering why Oberyn was being so nice, Dany dragged Tyene to her father's door and then made Oberyn listen to the Hound's story (at least as much as the inquisition pieced together combined with Dany's insights into his character).

Dany does not like to see a job half done so she did everything in her power to help, short of mining Sandor's dreams for answers (which she felt would have been invasive and uncalled for against someone who wasn't an enemy).

Edit: Question Faceless'd

It was Dany's doing as mentioned above

Now we need to recruit Sandor, equip him as deserving of his skill, and help when we can to help him kill his brother.

Once that is done he can truly start to heal both physically and emotionally.

The biggest problem with it is that it is a reaction to the popularity of things like Critical Role. The web series games had/have huge viewerships of people who didn't play the game at the time. In my opinion 5e is an obvious attempt to pull in a bunch of newbies with a vastly simplified system that makes it easier to jump in as either a player or DM.

The big problem is that it alienated large groups of veterans who loved the complexity and history of D&D. My bet is that they figured those folks would end up continuing in 3.5 or pathfinder anyway... Who knows.
I know very little about 5e, just what people I trust to know what they're talking about have shared. It doesn't seem like I would enjoy it much at all.

D&D lost me with the clusterfuck that was 4e, and then I found Pathfinder. So long, WotC.

[X] Speak with Sandor
-[X] Wait until he has regained an acceptable amount of blood and the right number of bodily openings.
-[X] Congratulate him on his victory. There are few men who could have won here and even fewer who would have been willing to take as much punishment as he did. // I mean, it's established that our tourney is a lot more brutal then others thanks to healing magic, but Sandor won half his fights while literally bleeding to death and the last one with a spear in his lung.
-[X] Ask him what he plans to do now with his winnings. // Sometimes the simple questions are the best. He can't exactly waltz back into the Red Keep with all his Targ merchandise and Tywin will be less then pleased at receiving him after publicly appearing in the tourney and even having a friendly chat with the Red Viper during the finale.
-[X] Whatever he does, let Valaena level up
--[X] Attribute: +1 Dexterity
--[X] Class: +1 Magus
--[X] Skills (6 Points): +1 Concentration, +1 Knowledge(Arcana), +1 Ride, +1 Spellcraft, +2 Handle Animal
--[X] Spell:
---[X] 3rd Level: Displacement

Pffft, the man deserves at least the Southern Disputed Lands. In practice it'll be giving it over to our administrators but it'd be an incredible statement nonetheless.
Are you sure about that? I mean... Uthero... what if he fanboys at Sandor?
Newly expanded in territory and refurbished. ;)
Sandor: "That tower is new..." *points at a red tower in the middle of the otherwise grey castle*
Viserys: "Are you sure? I'm, sure it was always there."
Sandor: "Yeah. It kinda looks like the keep of Casterly Rock actually..."
Viserys: "Don't be silly. Would I really steal the keep of a castle and silently add it to another one?"
Sandor: "..."
Viserys: "..."
Sandor: "Did you at least get rid of all those fucking lions?"
Viserys: "Replaced with dogs. All of them."
Sandor: "So that I don't notice, huh?"
Viserys: "..."

I think Sandor clocking Uthero would just make him respect Sandor more.

@DragonParadox, Viserys' thoughts on publicly curing Sandor's facial burn as a reward for the awesome showing?

Basically sending a message to the East and West: the True King has the hands of a healer.
