1. Lya is totally learning this from a scroll from Armun Kelisk.
2. I am not happy to see that as a 3/day ability on this Ancient Wight Lord. That could easily one-shot Mors or Bragar.

@Goldfish, can we stay ready to cast Wings of Cover?

Sorry for the delay, ya'll. I was trying to get fancy at first in order to capture the Winter Wight, but it just wasn't feasible to bottle or turtle him. Spark of Life is nice, but not when you're trying to use it against something with a +16 Will save bonus and a +15 Fortitude bonus (which would become +24 if Spark of Life was successful).

So that leaves two options (I might have gotten carried away with option #2);

[X] Plan Geologic Redecoration Pt 2
-[X] Viserys uses the Rod of the Battlemage to cast a Quickened Ancestral Awakening to learn Sudden Maximize while Varys Telepathically describes the layout of the Winter Wight's chamber to Waymar so that he can transport the group to roughly 30 feet from the abomination's position.
--[X] As soon as the group appears in the Winter Wight's chamber;
---[X] Viserys casts Assay Spell Resistance then use Wild Arcana to target the Winter Wight with an Amber Sarcophagus spell.
---[X] Dany uses her Sign buff to set her Initiative check result to 25, casts Assay Spell Resistance, then targets the Winter Wight with Dimensional Anchor.
---[X] Waymar Quickcasts Lightning Lance, targeting three child Wights, then cast another Lightning Lance, targeting another three child Wights. He prioritizes those closest to living children.

---[X] Dany uses her Sign buff to set her Initiative check result to 25, casts Assay Spell Resistance, then targets the Winter Wight (as a primary target), the living children, and as many Wights as she can (as secondary targets, prioritizing those closest to living children) with a Chained Reached Heal spell.
----[X] D&D Math Porn: Caster Level 14th (24th vs SR) Heal = 140 points of damage vs Undead, or 70 on a successful DC 24 Will save.
---[X] Waymar casts Assay Spell Resistance, then targets the Winter Wight with a Sudden Maximized Whirling Blade spell while Channeling a Lightning Lance spell and expending all three charges from his Ring of Mystic Lightning

-----[X] TOTAL: (1d10[Slashing] + 1d6[Electrical] +59) plus 204[Electrical] OR 102[Electrical] on a successful save.

----[X] D&D Math Porn: Caster Level 21st (31st vs SR) Firebrand = Maximized 15d6+15 [105] Fire damage + 4d6 [24] Fire damage; half damage [64] on a successful DC 28 Reflex save.
-----[X] TOTAL: 129 [Fire] OR 64 [Fire] on a successful save, and for targets Vulnerable to Fire, such as a Winter Wight; 193 [Fire] OR 96 [Fire] on a successful save
------[X] BONUS!: Maximized 10d6+10 [70] Fire damage to each target which survives into the following round. Or 105 Fire damage to the Winter Wight.

Which do ya'll prefer?

G'damn. Polar Ray.

More like Wave Motion Gun.

I vote to have a main battery mounted on our capital ships.

While I appreciate the effort, sometimes it's best to go full Goldfish on someone.

No worries. Anticold Sphere completely no-sells Polar Ray and any other Cold-based spells.

The Winter Wight would have to use Greater Dispel Magic first to bring it down before it could hit us with any of its Cold SLA. It's a possible outcome, but it would need to roll a 17 or better on its Dispel check to bring down the Anticold Sphere. Like we would give it the opportunity to do that and cast again unopposed.

Daemons are the nihilistic and self destructive incidences inherent to sentient life and thus that is what they want to kill.The Others what to annihilate the very concept of meaning, all that is, was or ever could be.

Huh, is it weird that I have some strange form of pride that our apocalyptic threat is more ambitious than others?

annoyance showing on her fave.
Face, unless you were referencing her ability to shift-shape and this is her favourite one.

1.1. Poor Sandor. Another opponent to talk him to death.
1.2. My money is clearly on Oberyn.
1.3. Welcome to the semi-finals Scarbrand.
1.4. No real comment on this.

2.1. That one I want to see.
2.2. Probably going in favor of Toros.
2.3. Axe battle!
2.4. Eh.

1.1: Sandor will probably take this one, but then again, Stunning Fist should at least prove annoying, and Ting doesn't lack for damage.
1.2: I wouldn't count Ben down and out, but yeah, Oberyn just has more and better gear at the moment.
1.3: I am so proud of him. "SKARBRAND DOES NOT NEED, NOR DESIRE, YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT! HE HAAATES POSITIVE AFFIRMATION! HAAAATES!"
1.4: I was wondering when we would see her again!

2.1: Nice, the underdog meets the shounen protagonist from the spin-off series.
2.2: I wouldn't count out Criston yet either. Thanks to some suggestions TNE made in the thread, needless to say if you want to cast in melee against Criston, don't.
2.3: Asha will axe him a question! AND HE WILL AXE BACK!
2.4: No comment. Who are these people?

@Goldfish, I would prefer Dany and Waymar from the second and Viserys from the first.
Like this? I believe I prefer it, too.

Even if Viserys somehow fails to capture the Winter Wight, it is in serious danger of being destroyed by Dany and Waymar.

[X] Plan Geologic Redecoration Pt 2
-[X] Viserys uses the Rod of the Battlemage to cast a Quickened Ancestral Awakening to learn Sudden Maximize while Varys Telepathically describes the layout of the Winter Wight's chamber to Waymar so that he can transport the group to roughly 30 feet from the abomination's position using Dimension Door.
--[X] As soon as the group appears in the Winter Wight's chamber;
---[X] Varys Telepathically warns Mors and Braga not to exit the Anticold Sphere's effect or a stray spell may kill them. Instead, they are to guard against ambush or retaliation while we handle the Winter Wight.
---[X] Viserys casts Assay Spell Resistance then use Wild Arcana to target the Winter Wight with an Amber Sarcophagus spell (+20 Ranged Attack bonus vs Touch AC 16, 29th Caster Level vs SR 28). If he fails to capture the Winter Wight, after both Dany and Waymar have attacked, Viserys casts Celerity and targets it with a Sudden Maximized Firebrand spell while expending all three Mystic Fire charges from his Spell-Singer's Ring (15d6+15 + 4d6 x 1.5 = 193 Fire damage or 96 on a successful DC 28 Reflex save).
---[X] Dany uses her Sign buff to set her Initiative check result to 25, switches her Channel Vigor effect to "Mind" as a Move Action, casts Assay Spell Resistance, then targets the Winter Wight (as a primary target), the living children, and as many Wights as she can (as secondary targets, prioritizing those closest to living children) with a Chained Reached Heal spell. If Viserys has already captured the Winter Wight, she does not cast Assay Spell Resistance, instead using a Quickend Barbed Chains spell (via Blackened Rod) to trip any child Wights she wasn't able to destroy with her Heal spell.
----[X] D&D Math Porn: +18 Ranged Attack bonus vs Touch AC 16, Caster Level 14th (24th vs SR) Heal = 140 points of damage vs Undead, or 70 on a successful DC 26 Will save (DC 22 for secondary targets).
---[X] Waymar switches his Channel Vigor effect to "Mind" as a Move Action, casts Assay Spell Resistance, then targets the Winter Wight with a Sudden Maximized Whirling Blade spell while Channeling a Lightning Lance spell and expending all three charges from his Ring of Mystic Lightning. If Viserys has already captured the Winter Wight, Waymar instead uses a Lightning Lance spell to destroy any child Wights Dany might have missed.
----[X] D&D Math Porn: +34 Ranged Attack bonus vs AC 32, 1d10+1d6[Electrical]+20 Weapon Damage [-15 due to DR], plus Caster Level 19th (29th vs SR) Lightning Lance = Maximized 30d6 [180] Electrical damage + 4d6 [24] Electrical damage[via Ring]; half damage [102] on a successful DC 16 Fortitude save, plus 9d6 [54] Bludgeoning damage)
-----[X] TOTAL: (1d10[Slashing] + 1d6[Electrical] +59) plus 204[Electrical] OR 102[Electrical] on a successful save.

@ Goldfish... I think that this guy isn't going to try to run away - *sees updated vote*

*Giggles* cheers for the math porn supply, it makes the plan more awesome. It occurs to me that the children, being generic emotional maniuplation/high efficiency horror (/desecration) magics, while not impacting on the readers, and our adventurers are hardened, might disturb the guide, and more likely, Umbers. Suggest adding:

-[] To Umbers and... Thingy "do not go more than ten feet from me. Even to save someone from horrors. Err on the side of being too close"

Added this;

OOC: I tried showing this from Viserys' perspective but it just would not work without sight... so I picked Lya. Congratulations on your new sword. Also try not to get arrested for murder.
Friendly reminder that for all our power level and success, DP is completely willing to pull off fantastic twists and kick us in the teeth!
Still, this was an incredible twist. That's the kind of GMing I aim for!
