Eh, i just want the second Imperial Crown so we can graduate from prude Prussia to amazing Austria.

I still say we're more like a reformed HRE, we've got the ethnicities for it (French/Aquilia, Italian/Wingbardy and Germanic/Griffonia), we've granted limited autonomy to prosperous city states (Feathersian League) and when the people work together we can defeat larger and more dangerous foes.

There is no second Imperial crown we already formed our crown be absorbing two other Kingdom level entities and several Duchy and bellow level entities. The Crystal Empire will get use nothing because like I said the lands are going to still be barren and empty any plant life and animals that did live there are going to be long dead. The Crystal ponies are either going to be all or mostly dead both from war, starvation, being worked to death, Sombra being a dick, and just being too far gone to save. The lands are not worth settling unless there is massive mineral wealth to mine.

That does raise the question of how much of the weather is the Windigos are responsible for? I mean I expected the Crystal Empire to be cold, but it's downright Arctic despite being further south of the Empire (unless Questor is tricking us with the map secretly being upside down).

I believe that once Sombra is defeated the Crystal Empire (prove that ponies are terrible at naming things: city state... with a King... it's an Empire!) will turn into something more pleasant... or at least pleasant enough to build a road/railway through.

The weather might clear up and turn warm but the land itself will be dead. Years of no growth and freezing temperatures and frost will have killed off the animal and plant life. And again this is not the Crystal Empire of the show or comics. The main city is huge several times larger than our capital the largest city in the Empire, there are also plenty of operations all over the Empire's territory. It is worthless to build anything there unless the mineral wealth is close to the same as our home territory.

This ain't some fairytale anymore even if the blizard magically disappears the land does magical go back to normal with sprouting flowers that blizzard has been going on for YEARS the land is UTTERLY fucked up it would take many years for it be "pleasant"

Our home territory has a distinct lack of high value trade resources, it is only rich in bulk materials. The Crystal Empire seems to at least have tons of valuable crystals, so it seems to cover one of our starting disadvantages.

We have precious metals and gems already they are just not in large enough numbers to trade. Also, we don't trade with anyone for "trade goods". Literally, both of our neighbors the Yaks and the Neighpons want iron and steel tools, and raw materials respectively we have literal mountains worth of industrial materials for both of them. The crystals are important because Sombra uses them for his projects and magic they may be worthless for us. Even if they are useful unless there is the same level of materials as there is in our own territory settling a completely dead land is not worth it.

@Questor Not sure if you got my last message. I Know I was the one that said to give the Duke of Wingbrady the rank of Archduke but that was a mistake on my part. The Archduke is the rank of the Imperial Heir, the correct rank was Grand Duke instead.

Actually I just kinda assumed that the Crystal Empire was at one of the geographic poles. We have never crossed paths with Equestria yet, so it could just be that our "South" is Equestrian North, along with solving the issue of how we in a temperate climate are "north" of the arctic. We aren't. but it would mean that we are in fact South of the North Pole which is the Crystal Empire, same as Equestria but they are on the other side of the globe.

Here this image might help

GE is us. EQ is Equestria's hypothetical location. NP is Neighpon across the Eastern sea, YK is Yakyakistan, CE is Sombra. Crystal City being at a pole... means that technically everything is south from Crystal City.

...or you know... magic.

One problem with that theory is we know that to our north is a frozen waste land so im pretty sure its magic thats causing it.

I really want to have a learning/stewardship action where we get Archimedes and his assistants to establish a standardized system of measurements and learning approach. The Archimedial Approach instead of the Scientific Method, followed up with establishing an Imperial Academy of Learning.

But that's probably a few turns off...

We already established our school system and standardized it. That was one of the first things we did it is why we have two actions for research.

Magitech will be so useful down the line magitech shields, magitech guns, magitech tanks, magitech ships, magitech airships god it's so much stuff we can make

magitech is the final fantasy age for us?
one of the games got magic from crystals.
so we get the crystal mines we might get started on magitech.
