If it's to arm them, could we just give them some weapons forged in SD? We produce quality weapons and armor cheaper than anywhere else, and I'm sure we can have the looks altered enough, to not be noticed as being from us.
It would be such a shame if we gave them money, that they then spent on buying things, we could get them for less than half the price.

They are lords with a rather major castle, they probably have some smiths of their own, so they can pretend it was crafted by those, sure how much it is will be suspicious, but if they don't parade it around it can be hidden.
The first option,it turns you that when I'm not trying to build narrative around them rolling 1 on 1 fights is pretty fast.
Not really no. Vesill is a level 1 sorceress. The only reason she was able to beat minotaurs was her breath weapon and their lack of range options

The Freys are already a wealthy family, this bribery is appreciated by them, but it's not exactly something they have a real need for, they are one of the richer noble families, if they had great need for steel, they would already have bought it.
