Correction. A bunch of people get queasy because I'm using a child a to carry a forged memory to Cersei for us.
That's what annoys me.

The other stuff is par for the course.
It's a gut unconscious revulsion to using a child as a tool. Even if from a utilitarian perspective its all cool, it's not the kind of thing people agree to without doing a double-take.
Also Snowfire's plan makes the cute 5 year old happy, your plan makes the cute 5 year old sad.
That's just how it goes.

I'm guessing the rebuttal to that would be the fact that we've probably made many a cute 5 year old sad with our conquest of the Three Daughters.

@DragonParadox two questions.

First, can Modify Memory detect Modify Memory having been used? It's down to interpretation of a single line, and it's important for this.

Second, in the event that someone was shown to have knocked out and modified the memory of the Crown Princess, would the Red Keep experience a similar level of insane counter-intrusion escalation to what would occur if we introduced ourselves directly to Mycella?
  1. No, you have to have some other way of establishing that the memory has been forged, and if it turns out you are trying to uncover the truth behind a real memory it would cause significant strain to the recipient
  2. No, as you would not be pushing Robert's paranoia buttons, though there would certainly be some effort to tighten security.

I mean I would prefer if we didn't interact with her at all. Put her to sleep, grab the cat, put it in the cloak, maybe give the girl a blanket then leave. But politics tho.

My issue is less fucking with Myrcela memories and more like someone will link this to us and make it backfire.

Damn it, I just lost what I had written for the interlude when I posted the last reply in the thread. I will try to get it written back out, but no promises at this point it's almost midnight.

I feel like Snowfire's vote makes for a more entertaining update, while Azel's is more advantageous overall. @Azel Earlier Algalon mentioned disguising ourselves as Rhaegar. While hilarious, it doesn't really split Roberts attention the way yours does. That said, can you think of anyone, alive or dead, we could disguise ourselves as to sow an equal amount of disarray?

It's just honestly saddening that little kids is the one and only point at which the thread shows some semblance of morals. I can get away with murdering half the ruling class of Lys, as long as I make sure the kids are safe. I got away with wrecking Lannisport and making half the poor people there homeless, but that's fine, because nobody pointed out that a few little kids will cry.

It's just so... fake...

Unlikely in the extreme for that to happen.

[X] Plan neat and clean.

This seems like the best option (though I would have loved to leave Myrcella chocolate and toys.)

Lyanna would definitely fuck with Robert's mind to be sure.

I mean... I'm right here :cry::lol.

Humans are hypocritical when it comes to what's right in front of them in comparison to what's not.

News at 11.

Basic Breakdown:

Snowfire: Will likely result in a very sad Myrcella making a scene over us big meany stealing her cat.

Azel: Gives Myrcella the equivalent of a minor nightmare that she will easily forget, but prompts Cersei to do something stupid and will likely keep Stannis away from Kings Landing and thus neutral.

Sqweaktoy: Makes Myrcella happy for now and sad later on when she can't find her cat.

I must be unable to read. I saw literally 1 person who got annoyed about the morality of this plan. A few others were unhappy about practical aspects (will it be noticed, will it work, will it backfire somehow...), but that's quite different IMO.

And of course "I got yo kill the ruling class of a slaver city" doesn't get people's knickers in a twist. They were presented to us as subhuman assholes from the get-go, without even a "this one is just a cute, innocent kid" moment.

Um, excuse me what? That is not a balanced breakdown at all.

  • [X] Plan Just A Humble Servant
-[X] After ensuring that your sudden appearance will not appear to be a result of magic, and checking for any hidden guards or other guardian entities with the help of Varys and Greater Arcane Sight, greet the Princess under the veil of a courtier come to collect a long-lost pet.
--[X] Tell her that the cat's name is Balerion, and that you've come to take him back to his owner.
---[X] Make a joke about how cats often are less owned and more owners themselves.
-[X] If it appears reasonable, there is no one else watching, and you are certain that no alarm spells will be triggered by it, remove the dust and spiderwebs from her clothing with a small working, seemingly bound to one of your rings.
--[X] 'Accidentally' acquire a few hairs in the process - people don't notice a few strands breaking as long as you don't pull them.
    [X] Plan Ludicrous Accusations
-[X] Hit Myrcella with a Greater Dispel Magic, then Quickened Deep Slumber.
-[X] Use a Bloodwished Modify Memory to implant the following memory:
--[X] When she came into the room, she heard someone approaching and hid behind a set of armor out of fear of being scolded for ruining her dress.
--[X] She saw Varys coming in and doing something, then a gold coated Falxugon appears in a pillar of flame.
--[X] Varys tells him that this hurry is becoming problematic and that he knows Stannis orders just fine without his servants constantly reminding him.
--[X] The Falxugon huffs, then spots Myrcella and grabs her, proclaiming that they can get started on getting rid of the heirs right here and now.
--[X] Varys denies this, citing the time isn't right and instead says that he will make her forget and puts her to sleep.
-[X] Use Bloodwished Unconscious Agenda to suppress the memory until Myrcella learns that Varys has disappeared or is that, at which point she will "remember" this again and tell it to Cersei.
    [X] Plan neat and clean.
-[X] Hit Myrcella with a Greater Dispel Magic, then Quickened Deep Slumber.
-[X] Use a Bloodwished Modify Memory to implant the following memory:
--[X] She caught the kitty, and sat down and cuddled with it for a bit. She got sleepy from because she was tired from chasing it, and because it was purring, so she decided to take a nap.
-[X] Take a moment to make sure the princess is safe from harm, then take the cat and move on.

Dude, what exactly are you expecting here? It's the Trolley Problem. Human perception is limited. Thousands of children die in China every day and no one cares unless a sad infomercial comes on talking about it. People don't care about the ruling class of Lys because Dragon Paradox hasn't humanized them in the same way (this ignoring the false equality between the innocence of this kid and the innocence of a bunch of adult slave owners). Most people can't do that abstract moral calculus and value it more then their actual emotions, it's just too exhausting. I'll vote for your plan, it's currently the best one and probably is the most moral in the long run, but it's hard to focus on that when the immediate is that your making a kid unhappy. It isn't "fake," it's just how people are. Sometimes I kind of wonder how much of that whole 'demon' shtick you have going is a joke.
