Robert's been limiting his tourneys and other expensive habits in favor of training, I doubt he's going to rack up much of a debt here, unless of course he get the opportunity to buy a dragon-slaying weapon, then he will rack up as much debt as necessary to buy it.
Doesn't matter. If we get Littlefinger to cook the books we can cause almost arbitrary amounts of damage.

That's not quite accurate. He feels a bit more protective of them of them than most because of how badly they are treated in many places.
Still he might be slightly extra protective of them, but the story wouldn't have pissed him off much less, if it was of factories producing a steady stream of crippled beggars(and quite a few corpses of course), because Littlefinger skimped on the safety, and underpaid the workers, so they had nothing once they got crippled, if the story was of child workers being treated like that, it would probably piss him off even more, as he feel even more protective of children.

So while it being whores might piss him off a bit extra, the main thing is, that he hates such exploitative business practices in general.

True, I just wanted to make the nuance clear.

It's honestly great that we started this now. Arriving just in time to help Littlefinger get his operations started is tremendously advantageous for us.

We can bleed Westeros dry.

Along with the fact that the Iron Bank is firmly in our pocket now, so Robert and Littlefinger can't use them for loans unless we want them to.
So why would we do this again?

Since he appears to be almost a complete bastard?

Also good to know you already decided were going to do this.

edit:

"Big Bad: If anyone were to be classified as such in this series. He's either directly or indirectly responsible for the actions starting the War of Five Kings, those being goading Lysa into poisoning Jon Arryn and blaming the Lannisters, feeding half-truths to Catelyn to make her move against Tyrion, and betraying Ned Stark and quite likely influencing Joffrey into executing him. Then eventually, when the time is right, he swiftly turns against the Lannisters by masterminding Joffrey's death and abandons the crown to the massive debt to the Iron Bank he's racked up for them over the years."

Are you sure this isnt actually a terrible idea? He routinely manipulates everyone around him into killing each other for slim benefit, fun, or because he feels like it.

I get that I can be incredibly pedantic about nuances myself(not to say you were pedantic this time, but I can get very very pedantic about nuances)

I just wanted to be sure that while it was clear, that it being whores gave it a little extra ability to make Viserys angry, Viserys despise such things no matter who it hurts.

We're going to have to take care of Tiamat and the Deep Ones before getting to conquer Westeros, but in the meantime we can completely screw over their finances. For a normal conquerer that would be hell to clean up, but with the Iron Bank on our side and the kind of tax revenue we enjoy we should be able to handle ourselves.

So "help" him bring about complete financial ruin then?

Ok that makes sense to me.

Im a tad concerned about the financial impact on the less fortunate but we can deal.

For once I am in unanimous agreement with someone around here.

Baelish is fucking worse than Ta'nari.

Demons literally cannot do anything but create Chaos.

Baelish is intelligent enough to know how much damage his every fucking action would do, and does it anyway, not destroying his enemies, but merely killing or hurting them as a consequence to his actual target: all conventions of law and order.

Pre-Small Council Baelish, I have no idea what the Bateezu would think of him. Probably about as little as they do any mortal pawn, potentially useful.

War of Five Kings era Baelish would probably make them kill him on the spot even if he offered up the smoldering ruins of Westeros to them afterwards.

Damn, my afternoon nap powers didn't just fail me, they betrayed me entirely! Rather than waking up five minutes after an update, they put me to sleep for two hours five minutes before the update posted.

Littlefingers main powers are being a smooth liar and being good at using people's faults against them. But compared to Viserys, he is amateur league material.

We can exploit his natural tendencies to cause damage to Tywin and Robert, then dispose of him.

If we didnt have so many powerful enemies and a 100% chance that he will try to stab us in the back, and use everything we give him to cause massive amounts of indiscriminate damage I would be more O.k. with this.

Like seriously. Can we just dominate him?

We need those shape shifting deep cover assass-...

Faceless men. Damnit.

He traded the feasting he cut back on for hawking and hunting, which isn't as expensive but still costs some amount of funds. As has been mentioned, rebuilding the Royal Fleet for a second time and all of the magical bullshit going on would also likely hit the treasury decently.

Assuming he isn't actually in the pockets of Deep Ones or anything like that, what do you think the odds are of him passing our standard interrogation processes? He's a competent enough manipulator that I'm almost tempted to let Amrelath take a shot at recruiting him.

Otherwise this "Hire a Faceless Man to act as our inside man on the Council" idea feels like it has merit.

Here is a relevant statistic to this conversation. Warships are expensive luxuries for a realm. Just to build a first-rate ship of the line costs the equivalent of today's aircraft carriers. Or in the case of Westeros and Bravos a grand galley or carrack. Each ship requires a sizeable investment of the State's GDP. Back when a master craftsman would have an income of 50 pounds a year and consider himself well off.

Yeah but hunting also bring in food, which is food they don't have to pay for, so it depends on the type of hunt, whether his hunts have become a net drain on resources, or a net gain, and considering he's expanding his hunts, in preparation for fighting us and to sate his bloodlust, many of them are probably of the cheaper variety, because it's the smaller hunting parties that kill the most, and Robert is in a killing mood.

Hawking weren't even mentioned, and I don't think it's a sport Robert is very fond of, he is the type to prefer killing the prey himself, in melee if possible, I expect the hunts he go on the most is boar hunts, and not the normal safe big party boar hunts, but small party boar hunts where he faces the boar 1v1, after all so long as the boar don't instantly kill him, magic can have him right back up.

Maybe some bear hunting as well, as well as any other big animal that's likely to try fighting him instead of running, so he can face them in melee combat.

Tarrangar, everyone's just been trying to ignore you for a while now, but at this point I really just have to ask:

What the hell are you smoking?

Historically, Royal Hunts were always more about pageantry and personal prestige then it was ever about acquiring food. I doubt that's different in 'literally worse than the middle ages' land.
