-[X] Full King's Landing infodump, please? Rumors, gossip, plots, betrayals, etc.; everything Chataya knows which may be useful to us, both in this particular instance and any other involving intrigue in this stinking cess pit of a city.

I'm going to need a bit more direction than this. There is only so much room in an update

@DragonParadox
Unrelated to the Devilish plots, did they hear about Balerion?

If he's still in the Red Keep every servant working there could tell us.

The bones have not been taken out of the keep to anyone's knowledge.

OOC: For anyone wondering why the brothel is such an important hotspot for intrigue, it's because of Robert and other high ranking noblemen visiting. Chataya's girls hear a lot more than most and she knows how to leverage it. The move towards Viserys is in effect her trying to cash in her chips and go home in triumph.

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that everyone in power has such a shitty home life that they willingly spend money on sex or that the only organization with anything resembling competent leadership is the damn whorehouse.

No, no, Brothel. Credit where credit is due she runs a tight enough ship to earn that title.

I try to incude that, but it's more common from other characters. Viserys has seen so much more than most.

Fair criticism thank you. I think I may be overcompensating since characters who constantly congratulate themselves in internal monologues are the ones I find the most frustrating.

May I suggest a few interludes on the subject? We've had hints of befores and afters, but a focus on how much better life is in the Deep might be one way to swing it.

Varys along with the Grand Maester had been the one who counseled your father to open the gates of the city leading to the sack.

I thought Varys argued against opening the gates?

Following Rhaegar's defeat during the Battle of the Trident at the end of Robert's Rebellion, Varys counseled Aerys II Targaryen against opening the city gates[22] when Tywin Lannister appeared at King's Landing with an army of twelve thousand men strong.[6] Aerys, however, decided to listen to Grand Maester Pycelle and opened his gates to the Lannister forces, who sacked the city.[22]

Or is this a case of Viserys lacking proper information?

The move towards Viserys is in effect her trying to cash in her chips and go home in triumph.

Smart, getting out of the city before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. We might be able to hire her as part of our Summer Islands Embassy.

Worse shi... er, mess than the place I grew up in. At least the bloody ruins were made of stone that would keep the rain and wind out if you were careful."
Alright then. Fire and blood it is.

We know of at least one undercity faction. The rat folk.

We meant to talk with them, now is a good time.

The move towards Viserys is in effect her trying to cash in her chips and go home in triumph.

I see no problems with this.

Hmmm.

The Red Keep is full of cats, right? Maybe we should try Warging or speaking with animals to infiltrate it.

We did say we would grab balerion right?

This is also a good idea.

I mean in any vernacular, as far as a Westerosi perspective goes, Courtesans in King's Landing only get better treatment due to clientele and their boss, and that only insofar as it is clear they seem to hate their jobs (but their other options aren't exactly winning bets either).

In Braavos being called a courtesan is way different, like being a local celebrity, and not known and ill-regarded on the face of it for having sex with people, but primarily being known for all the other services they provide.

In King's Landing... they're just upscale hookers. Just with less filthy and rough clients... usually.

Something to keep in mind is the order in which we carry out our objectives. Once we kill Varys, the Red Keep is going to be significantly more paranoid and on guard, which would make a bunch of other tasks much more difficult.

I'm late for the salt, but I agree with @Azel. While children are and should remain a hot-button issue for Viserys, irrational guilt about things he has zero control over is not the way I think it should manifest. Anger at the atrocity, yes. Sorry that it happened, yes. But the self-flagellation just doesn't feel in keeping with the tyrant who is conquering the world to me.

I get the concern, and if he had learned about it in any other way than witnessing in in person and helpless to stop it I would agree with you, but he did experience it that way.

@DragonParadox

1. Remember that armor that Gerion looted from Valyria?
The Laughing Lion has returned to port triumphant, his holds bursting with the treasures of Doomed Valyria. Not only has House Lannister gained back its Valyrian steel sword, though the rumors of it being Brightroar are false, but the Warden of the West has seen fit to grant Valyrian weapons to all his senior bannermen welding them to him more closely than ever as well as gifting a set of ensorcereled armor seed to be harder than the mountains to the king. Rumor speaks of more arcane treasures... perhaps dragon eggs for there have been men carrying gold western in Lannisport recruiting Dragonseeds throughout the islands of the Narrow Sea and the Crownlands. More worrying still are the talks with the Velaryon, impoverished and out of royal favor one can scarce imagine what Tywin Lannister could wish from them if not lore of elder times.
Have there been any further rumors about that? It's been a while, there should have been something.

2. Can we steal all the dragon bones?

3. Can we hunt for dragon eggs? There have to be a bunch in the Red Keep, there's no way there aren't.

4. Can we steal skulls from beneath the Great Sept of Baelor to poke at our ancestors for where they would have hidden their caches?
