So I've said for a while, but at this point it's plain easier to not bother and just defeat the 'brilliant ideas' at the proverbial ballot box.
It's indeed way less exhausting that way, but...
That does let the dumb ideas develop sort of pseudo-legitimacy via floating around the thread for a while without anyone respectable shooting them down, however. I believe that's how the whole 'Rhllor is Asmodeus' thing got so much traction.
... this.

He definitely posted a sacrifice list a bit ago, but I can't find it.

NOW TO BE FAIR TO "BIG RED IS BIG RED", that theory is amusing to me. Though I would never seriously, and have never actually, tried to present a plan acting as if that is the case because there is such a thing as IC/OOC separation.

If you start seeing people seriously discussing doing something in a way that isn't either, in the more earnest vein, theorizing, or comedic, then you have a problem when that theory hasn't ever actually been verified, and no attempt to find more information IC has been done.

For example we can't make ANY decisions regarding what to do with hypothetical divine status because it is just something that Viserys has not interacted with in an update before in just that context. We know his opinion on becoming a God, but you can't just say "okay so this is what we'll do to avoid it" as if that is a viable a solution. You start seriously getting into a phase where you are building up this plan of action without ever having interacted with any of the relevant actors involved in it for instance, which causes for an inevitably caustic voting process as people who never had any intention of supporting you have the choice between fighting it out long before it ever becomes voted on, or actively attempting to be subversive in their convincing of everyone by using similar tactics (alarmism/exaggeration).

I mean I have seen some people bring up mentions of alarmism and how damaging it is, which is amusing to me because I can't name anyone here who has never gone on to exaggerate the possible effects of doing or not doing something, at least to some degree.

@Duesal, what are we taking out of the larder?

Not sure if you discussed this with @egoo when we were deciding where in the month to place the VS forging.
Mostly fiendish spiders, who are kinda shit for Day of Blood due to lack of intelligence.
Also slobs of demonic blood from that mercury lake.

[X] 3 Gargantuan Fiendish Monstrous Spiders (48HD), 14 Huge FiendishMonstrous Spiders (112HD), 7 Bulettes (56 HD), 9 Advanced Bulettes (72HD).
-[X] Total HD: 288
-[X] This blood sacrifice results in 14,400 lb of Valyrian Steel.
-[X] Make sure that before the spiders are killed, their venom-producing glands, as well as silk-producing organs, are cut out and kept safe until Fungal Pods are ready for work.

Hey @DragonParadox back at the interlude, it seemed as if Waymar bought his brother a discreetly magical sword, and was already presenting it. Why didn't he fight with that?

Indeed, look at the whole "let Yss suck out the divinity from us so we don't accidentally into godhood!" thing.

It's treated as an actual, valid course of action, when the very premise is hilariously and provably wrong.

I've got good news.

With our recent success in clearing out the Xenarth nest (which will hopefully be repopulated soon with more sacrifices), we gained Bulettes and Advanced Bulettes. Now, DP has ruled them magical and extraplanar (especially considering their origins of being created with demon blood) and therefore valid sacrifices, but for Day of Blood purposes they would still suffer the -50% modifier for sacrifice value.

However, Day of Blood is not the only sacrifice they qualify for. Due to the demon blood used in their creation, DP has ruled that they will be valid for the purposes of Valyrian Steel, and there are no negative modifiers for low intelligence there. We have 7 Bulettes and 9 Advanced Bulettes in the Larder, for a total of 128 HD.

Why does this matter? Because of this:

Before, the spiders were all slotted for Valyrian Steel because the Harbinger, of course, took priority. But now, we have more options thanks to getting more sacrifices, and the spiders can be used to untangle the divine curse without requiring any research time (though we still have to wait for Yss to wake back up).

Now according to this post where I already did all the math for sacrifices needed for the Harbinger's Valyrian Steel, we need 285.54 HD (rounded up to 286 HD). With 128 HD coming from the Bulettes and Advanced Bulettes, only 158 HD will need to come from the spiders. That can be accomplished by using all 14 of the Huge FiendishMonstrous Spiders and 3 of the 5 Gargantuan FiendishMonstrous Spiders, bringing us up to 160 HD.

That leaves 2 Gargantuan FiendishMonstrous Spiders and 3 Colossal FiendishMonstrous Spiders. The Colossal spiders are precisely CR 13. Even if we need a CR 13 sacrifice for each of the spider abominations to be freed from their curse rather than just one for both, we have our options.

I'm not advocating to do this right away, I just wanted to let you guys know that I'd figured out a way to solve this without needing to dedicate research for it. It's not urgent at all, we could sit on this for months and it would be fine.

It wasn't a sword, just a really nice sheath.

--[X] Specific care to be taken to harvest Collosal Spider's venom glands.
You can take out the 3 Collosals and 2 of the Gargantuan.

We get 50 lb of VS per HD.

It's just that if I tried to wade in and break up every stupid theory and absurd idea the you-know-who's cook up, I'd never stop, and it would quickly suck all of my enjoyment from the forum. It's so easy just to ignore them, since you know they'll splatter like a bug on Azel's scorn whenever they make enough of a nuisance of themselves to come to his attention.

We should get him a +1 sword from our mage-smiths to go along with it. Maybe hardened bronze?

That's low-grade magic, enough that Yohn or Andar could just say they got the work done in Braavos from fey.

Maybe people should take turns? :V

I rather like the theory. It reminds of of all the insane theories that the fandom
of Asioaf came up with over the years. That and it's so unlikely that it comes off as a funny. But the people who believe it do need to either give evidence or stop

Could you add that this results in 14,400 lb of VS, since DP asked for that info specifically?

Together with the current stockpile, this brings us to 15,623 lb of VS in total, of which the Harbinger will need 15,500 lb, or 7.5 metric tons.
