@Questor
The boats are charging us 150 gold each boat, our upkeep per boat is only 5 gold, and 1 gold per man, the same as the berserkers. The price is rediculious, they're not giving us any discount at all.

As such, i have changed my vote to everything except the boats.

But i want to check to see if that was a math error you made. I thought they were supposed to give us a discount for both hating aquila and our roll. Just how tricked out are their cogs?

It could be reasonable if it was, like, 4 or 5 cogs. Even 3 cogs and i'd reluctantly vote for it... or really tricked out cogs.

    [X] The Wood Stalkers: Experienced Archers/Scouts that specialize in Forest Combat, they have years of experience hunting Timberwolves and Feral Diamond Dogs throughout Griffonia. (Numbers: 200 Warriors, 300 Archers)

    [X] The Black Pikes: A unit of heavily armored and stoic Gryphons skilled in the use of long thrusting spears, ground combat, and phalanx warfare. They're not very mobile or good in an aerial battle, but when defending a spot on the ground they're nearly impossible to dislodge. (Numbers: 500 Pikes)

    [X] The Crimson Company: One of the most (in)famous mercenary companies of the Northern Mountains, the warriors of the Crimson Company fly into battle with nothing but steel claws and a coating of war-paint. Almost suicidally brave and determined to win glory in battle or die trying, their lack of armour gives them a significant speed advantage over most opponents. (Numbers: 500 Gryphon Berserkers)

    [X] Captain Kingfisher's Marvelous Mutineers: Before Brochard started constructing actual warships, he forcibly confiscated several fishing boats from coastal settlements to serve as makeshift patrol vessels. Naturally this didn't fly with many of the local fisher-gryphs. One former boat captain by the name of Gerard Kingfisher led several of his fellows in a daring raid to steal back his boat, along with a shipment of weapons. Branded outlaws, they now make a living as privateers and pirate-hunters, offering a special discount to anyone asking them to raid Aquileian naval vessels. (Numbers: 2 Caravels loaded with 300 angry sailors) Cost: 600 Gold
    [X] The Troll-busters: These eccentric exiles of Feathersian nobility are unusual even by mercenary standards. Wielding strange and unwieldy mechanical contraptions that spew streamers of fire like draconic maws, they've made a name for themselves burning down swathes of monster infested forest for the highest bidder. Despite their pitiful numbers, they charge absurdly high rates for their services; apparently those "flamethrowers" aren't cheap to operate or maintain. Still, they would doubtlessly be a valuable asset in battle. (Numbers: 4 Flamethrowers) Cost: 1000 Gold

I'm not one hundred percent sure that the Wood Stalkers are necessary, but they're cheap and it's not bad to have more scouts. And I don't want to split the vote, obviously.

Brochard will NOT surrender he knows he NEEDS to win to keep both his head as well as his crown
Brochard won't surrender, sure.

His soldiers/mercenaries on the other hand...

Still I recognize our expenses will soon double/triple once we conquer/annex the other two countries, so not buying everything makes sense.

I really want the flamethrowers but the logic dictates that we will have to take care of the problems caused in our new territories by useless king that we will kill in the next turn.
You can vote [] all of them except the boats, which i changed my vote to from all...

@Questor Since this is a D&D-ish world, do we need to keep some troops back to defend against monster attacks? If so, the Wood Stalkers would seem ideal for that.

The only reason to hire the Troll Hunters would be to unlock incendiary weapon research early - but realistically we will only need it in sieges and sea battles, while we most likely will kick Cyril's tail in the open field.

@Questor my wishlist for later:
An order of boat-knights (privateers?)
An order of diamond dog knights
The invention of flavored snow from the mountains.

Bro..... this is Genius.

Now, all we need to do is determine if's this is on the food tech tree. We're already traveling done the Mushroom section and the Seafood section. Maybe, trade with foreign nation(species) will reveal concepts to get us started on the Deserts Food Tech Section.

Basicly have Griffins as reown culinaries?

I can imagine the ponies trying to steal the art of making snow cones, only to discover they have other wonderful desserts and then come to an agreement to help them produce snow in exchange for a trade agreement.

How else will Princess Celestia get all her cake?

Military Victory? Diplomacy Victory? What are those in the face of a Food Victory!

Guys, this might be me, but does anyone else have the feeling that Brochard had our predecesor killed?

Fine, it is more economically advantageous, plus if burning other griffons to death is frowned upon later down the line, we won't leave a black mark on our legacy.

Doubtful he had to accelerate his plans because we came to the throne. A predecessor was also someone who didn't rock the boat or change the status quo. That is someone you want if you're trying to claim the title of emperor. You don't kill that and invite an unknown variable into your plans.
