We aren't rattling our sabers though, just keeping them...polished.We are talking sanctions, not alliances. You don't sanction the peaceful side to ease the hunger for war, just the sabre-rattler.

THAT IS THE POINT.We aren't rattling our sabers though, just keeping them...polished.
Should probably be "Brawny", unless working out somehow changes our DNA.I Work Out: Your wife is…ok, there's no beating around the bush here, your wife could probably break you in half with her bare talons. And while that's not a bad thing at all, you have to admit that you feel a little…inadequate when standing next to her. She's intelligent and attractive, and most importantly, your Queen! You think she deserves a husband that can at least stand a chance against her in an arm wrestling match. There's only one solution to this: start exercising regularly. Cost: 0. Time: One Year. Reward: Increased martial stat, chance to gain Strong Trait, chance to improve Gabriella's opinion of you. Chance of Success: 70%
Problem here is that any increased relations with other factions causes King Blowhard to Trigger harder, meaning he might go and declare war before we are prepared for it anyway.[X]Plan Allies and Knights
Exactly what I want in a plan really. I like the leading one but I don't see the point of Diamond dog contact when we could better relations with the league instead. I might switch if I'm convinced or another less favorable plan looks like it could win.
As for the Try diplomacy option, I agree with the argument by somebodynobody about looking like a peacemaker in the saber rattling but I think it would be a better choice with closer relations to the league from the other diplo actions first.
See I think this is the area we differ in opinion, I don't think that. I think that we can increase relations without him going to war because he has never shown himself to be diplomatically sensitive. The only time he protests is when it involves troops and is seemly militarily focused to a degree of blindness. Brochard is likely to write off us "Smoozing with our fellow merchants" or whatever negative stereotype we play into. Because of that we can advance our campaign of diplomatic isolation safely and do the action next turn with better results.Problem here is that any increased relations with other factions causes King Blowhard to Trigger harder, meaning he might go and declare war before we are prepared for it anyway.

There were complaints previously, albeit back then it didn't hurt our relations. If we start escalating our involvement even further - especially after Wingbardy, I see it likely that he will go all Triggered again.Feathersians for Free Trade: Ignoring complaints from King Brochard of Aquileia, several Feathersian city states have begun trading with his rival Griffonia, enriching both parties and raising questions about the supposedly neutral status of the alliance.
Also depends how strongly they would view us as foreign occupiers. Eh, if a war happens and we win, we can deal with whatever comes up with the options given. Its mostly comes from the incoming war with Aquelia. If we win, it will be possible to bring in both wingbardy and Aquelia. The Feathasians will probably settle for some vassel like state as long as they can keep a semblance of independence.
At least thats how i see it.
That's diplomacy, gents! You do shit you don't believe is going to work, just because its something people expect you to try before escalating.I just don't think it's worth doing something that will almost certainly fail just on the off chance we look good failing.
What makes you think there isn't one already? At some point we need to make a holiday around the time discord was defeated, maybe do a small festival
