It works equally well against all non-magical projectiles. If someone launched a cruise missile at Viserys in @Snowfire's Horde Thief omake series, and he was protected by Starmantle, the missile would just puff away in a harmless flash of light.

If it hit him, of course. If it was proximity fused, then he eats an explosion.
Not that this is ever going to be relevant :V

Yes, ah, cruise missiles are legitimately threatening for a variety of reasons.

The biggest way to mitigate that threat is simply not to get hit or be in proximity to one going off to begin with, which a high level full caster can definitely manage, but putting yourself in position to get hit by one in the first place, to what, to prove a point?

This is just asking for a low yield nuclear weapon to go off, and even if it doesn't kill you, do you want to be responsible for bringing on that kind of heat? Congratulations, you're the asshole who thought getting into a dick waving contest with a modern military-industrial complex who, for the sake of the narrative, apparently can't countenance being made a fool of by an overgrown fire-breathing lizard was a good idea, and now everyone recognizes you as the preening reptile who caused fallout to wash over Little Jimmy and Susie's after-school function.

Wings of Cover to the rescue. Celerity + Greater Blink or Celerity + Greater Teleport would also be viable options, if Viserys had even a hint of warning.

Or he could just tank the damage. In the D&D d20 Modern rules, an anti-tank rocket only inflicts 10d6 damage on a direct hit, so Viserys should be able to absorb a hit from any non-nuclear ordinance so long as he isn't already seriously injured.

But why risk it?

And the majority of the damage suffered here is obviously social. Words are better weapons seeing as how they seem to outlast the death of whichever jackoff you place in front of you, unless you kill literally everyone involved. You know how much hanging we had to do? A lot. If we had half-assed it like Dany, we'd have Sons of the Harpy in Tyrosh before the first month was out.

I want to kick Olenna and Tyrell ass too but letbe reasonable while doing it.
As much as i tempt to destroy Redwyne and Olenna legacy.

"Oh no, fire damage! What am I ever going to do?"
Chapter when?

I'd rule it as a mix of bludgeoning and fire damage, actually. Like how a fragmentation grenade would deal slashing/piercing. And a cruise missile would do quite a bit more than 10d6 damage, imo. They're rather larger than a man-portable AT rocket.

Part 24 should be up today. It probably won't involve anti-tank rockets. But I promise nothing.

Fuel-air bombs. Gotcha.

What? World powers regularly get away with clandestine attacks using weapons that would make people who have read the Geneva Conventions blush. Why not Fomor who can just mindrape anyone who has all the right details? Blame it on those rascally malcontents, ultranationalists, Jihadists... whatever sells.

Edit:

Crake: *well reasoned argument on why X is bad idea*

Snowfire: *blinks* "Hey that was actually rational and well argued!"

Crake: *terrible ideas to be contrary*

Snowfire: "Why am I surprised?"

Yeah, but a rocket like that usually delivers a highly motel stream of metal that kills due the inside of a vehicle heating up hilariously and the commensurate pressure increase.

In other words, it's a direct hit sort of weapon. Tho, of course, variations exist.

Cruise missiles are made of deliver large booms instead of penetrating tank armour. Rockets only really manage it at their size due their cheat trick with heat and pressure.

Granted, those are very big booms.

But so is a fireball that hits like said AT rocket on a 40 ft tall sphere. At least for Mel that's one of the most impressive comparisons.

So what happens when we inevitably make the dear lord shit his pants and tell him to back off? I do hope for something interesting to say the least.

HEAT ammo (High Explosive Anti Tank) has no appreciable thermal component. They deal damage by a highly accelerated stream of super-plastic metal, usually copper.

The ammo usually immobilizes tanks by destroying key components or destroys them by causing an ammo explosion. Neither heat nor pressure are involved.
Cruise missiles are made of deliver large booms instead of penetrating tank armour. Rockets only really manage it at their size due their cheat trick with heat and pressure.
Depends on the size and mission parameters of a given model. The most commonly known models usually have a kinetic penetration head with a time delayed explosive warhead behind it. Either solid or fuel-air models exist.
