I have five issues with your vote:
1. You are using the alignment system.
2. You assume that he is CE, when we have no reason to think so.
3. You are using the alignment system.
4. You should probably throw in the thought that stellar service might get him that reward earlier. You obviously want him to show excellence, not settle for decent service and waiting out his contractual term.
5. You are using the alignment system.

Lastly, I think you are over-blowing how outmatched he is against the Efreeti. If he is too dumb to notice when he is in over his head, then I have no particular reason to worry that it stays attached to his neck and he should have plenty of easy pickings available. Especially if he gets proper aid from the Salamanders.

The last thing we need is having his ego stroked by constantly deploying him to curb-stomp something for us.
Viserys isn't literally saying "stop being Chaotic Evil". It's abstract.

Huh.
I think I have a new entry in name-calling list, amongst Quick Noodle, Pond Master and Amy.

And I'm abstractly objecting to your abstractions, as it's abstractly annoying to me.

Yes. I'm, extending the benefit of the doubt to something that has CE in it's creature entry. Otherwise I can't complain at people for dragging "It's Good!" up as an argument.

I disagree on this one. The only example of any Chaotic Evil beings ruling a successful society (I use those adjectives loosely) were the Drow, and that was only through the direct and constant intervention of Lloth.

@Azel please explain more about your opposition.

I think I get your stance but I would rather hear directly.
I'm worried about Goldfish being too condescending due to the CE assumption. Right now, he doesn't look terribly CE to me.
The other thing is that we should dangle the carrot of an early reward in front of his nose for extra motivation.

Lastly, the way he asked about this is already showing quite nicely why he shouldn't rule humans. I have no particular issue with him ruling some planar holding for us, but putting him in charge of 'mayflies' has Bad Idea written all over it.

Neat pile of stuff, but this mission was pretty lackluster in the loot compartment in comparison to stealing the prison doors.

O.k. ninjad then.

@Azel I like it.

... You should probably introduce him to our PoF contacts. And inform him that we will be very displeased if something happens to them.

Also. One more thing.

I'd like to reconvene in 5 years to see if he's worth keeping on, cutting loose, or executing.

I don't think we'll ever see much in the way of loot from a single mission that compares to what we gained from the prison doors, unless we stumble across a really nice Artifact of some sort. That's cool, though. The assassination wasn't about the loot, as far as I am concerned, but the political capital it gained us with the Shaitan.

The Blue Dragon Hatchling is nice, too, though.

BTW, what age category are we expecting Amrelath to be once we get him in a fleshsuit?

Definitely. Though this shows again that our best shot at making big money is to hit the Efreeti military. Turtle ships are basically made out of cash.

I think Azel's plan is a denial disguised as a compromise vote. "Well, you can do it as long as it is far away from my sight" is rather insulting.

The default option for yes is plenty nice.

I see no reason to not go with:

[X] Accept in principle should he show himself fit for such a task once he is returned to life
-[X] We will likely wait for the years of his service to end in order to properly evaluate him.

Which is essentially a "let's see how you do".

If he is competent and qualified, and follows our laws, what's the issue?

Namely the sheer amount of unresolved baggage is what concerns me.

Amrelath was. In order.

He was born a red dragon, he was turned into a lich against his will, then tortured, then put into a coma during the age of lost magic, and then. Fucking then. He gets freed and out into the body of a demon.

If a stubborn streak of pride wasnt literally the only thing holding him above the brink of madness I would try and order him to take a motherfucking break and do some self care.

To say nothing of the fact that being tortured doesn't really help build life skills.

Uhm... no? This has nothing to do with "out of sight", but simply that I want him to rule people he isn't dismissing as gnats while asking for control over them.

And frankly, we do want some PoF holdings, but don't have the time to actually carve out a realm there. So this gets everyone most of what they want.

My largest concern with you plan Azel basically ties into what I said above.

Amrelath is a bomb waiting to go off.

When or if he does it will probably be a very bad time for everyone around him.

Edit: never mind. He actually spent his time in traction hitting the books, and studying.

That's... A good sign. @DragonParadox can you tell us what he studied.

It seems to be the best option imo as we don't really trust him operating along in PM due to the fact he's a red dragon and thus a dick which is bad for PR. We don't really have those PR concerns in MS and it's better than having him sit around after he gets a new body as problems requiring a dragon to solve but also simple enough to not require any diplomacy are probably few and far between.
