Viserys would be perfectly happy with an uneventful SoL date if the world would slow down and stop trying to bite his face off/set itself on fire.

I'm more surprised wr don't get petulant bad guys completely confused that we didn't stand by and let them wreck the proverbial upholstery, given how we deal with them with the same equanimity of one discussing the weather.

Remember how disturbing talking to Viserys was for a Selkie PC who didn't understand how we didn't find her mysterious at all, and balked naught at the sign of battle with elderitch abominations?
I acually don't remember that. If somebody could link this update i would be gratefull.

I love how you're implying Viserys could beat Robert "Demon of the Trident" Baratheon, possibly bare-chested, with just Dark Sister in hand, like a red-headed stepchild.
Considering Robert didn't leveled up in so long and we are sporting Full BAB thanks to DRAGON plus our DR14/VS means that we're very likely to succeed even in a no-magic setting.

Found the update that Vellamo was surprised by our reaction.

Wanderers of the Waves

Thirty-First Day of the Tenth Month 292 AC

You stay silent, curious more about Vellamo herself and the company she keeps than fiends scattered across the Seven kingdoms and perhaps beyond. The answer is swift in coming... though not quite in the manner you you had anticipated. Instead of words the sorceress changes, no mere unraveling of a glamor but a transmutation of the flesh: her skin takes on a faintly greenish tint, her hair ripples free of its bindings to fall in a wave of lustrous black over her shoulders. Her charming smile now reveals a row of sharp white fangs...

It is a testament too all the uncanny things your friends have seen in your journeys that none react beyond a curious blink from Vee and a considering look from Ser Richard, likely weighing the peril she represents again in his mind... something stirs at the back of your mind, more than a dream, less than memory: children of cold northern waters, rarely seen by fire loving wyrms and their offspring, yet that very rarity drove one particular magus to acquire a pair. You could have done without the knowledge of what she did with them.

"I am glad to see those born of sea and earth can still find common ground against the horrors from beyond the boundaries of the world," you offer, truth and platitude both.

"Not even a flinch..." Vellamo tsks. "Could you not have at least pretended to be shocked?" she asks with mock-petulance.

"Will burning curiosity as to how you came to be in your current circumstances satisfy you my lady?" you ask.

"My people were driven south by an ancient foe whose name I will not utter here." The cold wind rattles the boards with a sudden gust, making her pause for a wary moment before hurrying on.

"Many sought shelter on coasts further north where only the rude tribes of those who call themselves 'Free Folk'. Perhaps they have even come to rule there..." she does not appear to think much of the notion. "Among us as among men there are those with greater daring and grander dreams. Those of my kindred dared the deep waters to pass around the Shadow of the Wall and came at last to more civilized lands. From fishermen's tales and seaside rumors we learned of those among these lands most bound to the sea and we sought them out... offering fealty for the chance to walk among the men of White Harbor untroubled."

"Pray go not take this as casting aspersions upon your lord... but I find it as surprising as I do gladdening that you were taken in so readily," you question her gently.

"Exiles will know their own and welcome them at need." she shrugs. Seeing that you are not convinced she adds. "We did not show ourselves at once, but worked to aid the city in secret, then slowly unveiled our secret. Some know us merely as traders and fishermen who bring strange wares to port, others as sorcerers and diviners and only a few for our true nature."

"So what d'you want?" Vee asks bluntly, her Common far from perfect but understandable enough. You suspect she is playing the role of the 'little savage' girl intentionally, for while she has little patience for sparing with words she is not without cunning. A question you could have never asked directly without giving offense is far more forgivable from her. Perhaps she is interested in the tale... perhaps she merely wishes to finish your business in white Harbor so you can get a decent night's sleep.

Regardless Vee's purpose stands fulfilled soon enough. Vellamo explains that some of her more ventursome kin would wish to look upon lands and seas further south, but warm waters are too dangerous to swim in all day, yet they cannot stay in human guise for weeks or months on end. "Perhaps a journey to your lands will cool their ardor..." she finishes.

It does not escape your notice that such a exchange will also give House Manderly eyes and ears in Sorcerer's Deep, perhaps even sorcerers, for you do not know how many of the selkies share the arcane talents shown in the crafting of the wards.

To be fair we literally just helped a god animate a zombie corpse of a fragment of his previous incarnation to wreck shit on the plane of fire, before that we killed an aspect of Mammon in one round, then there was the time we fought an aspect of Tiamat, and there was also the Dream Serpent thing, and the Nightmare dragon, and that time when we nuked an Illithid city by opening a portal to the plane of fire under the sea, or that time we made friends with a giant psionic flaming whale that also flies.

Simply put when it comes to weird shit they're going to have to do a lot more than wave their weapons and shout about how they rule some blood covered shithole in the abyss.

Frankly, out of our current enemies on the local plane of existence, I am more worried about the Blackfyres than anyone else (Lannisters included) because they have several high level spellcasters, an army, flying magical creatures and the support of a Chaotic-Evil godess with a grudge...

Westeros may appear ripe for the taking but ensuring that our rule remains secure is just as important.

He may have been a tiny danger when he was still a warrior instead of some obese dude who's almost having a cardiac attack .

While you've been running a kingdom, Robert was training.
While you've been saving cities, Robert was training
While you've been facing off against gods, Robert was training.

Pity for Robert that training gets you shit all XP compared to risking your life.
Alas, poor Robert.

Are we still planning to use that air engine Azel came up with, or was it scrapped after he came up with the anti gravity ships? I think its relative cheapness could make it pretty useful, but there hasn't been much talk about it for a thousand pages, so I wasn't sure if anyone still remembered it.

I fixed that for you my dude!

I mean, more accurate, but it doesn't have the amusing futility of the training. Also, I like to think that Robert has been inspired by the idea of killing Viserys to start training and being a bit more active :).

I feel bad for him tbh, the character represented in OTL, that is, no idea what this one is like.

@Azel I'm adding your response to Yrten to my level up plans for everyone eligible. If you want to consolidate with me, I promise not to change anything you wrote in your plan.

Not a lot going on in these level ups, though Tyene and Rina are both gaining access to 7th level spells.

For Tyene, I've got Destruction slotted in for her new 7th level spell, because it's just a brutal Save-or-Die spell that hurts pretty bad even when it doesn't kill you. I want to retrain Disguise Self for her because she's outgrown the spell, with her Glamered armor and ready access to Ribbons of Disguise, normal and Greater. I also want to retrain Silence. It's a good spell she never uses, and Ironskin is a great replacement. Tyene doesn't have enough self buff spells, considering that her Sand Whip is so good it begs for her to mix it up in melee every so often.

For Waymar, Bladeweave is another spell that just doesn't see any use. With Heart of Air, he can benefit from its minor bonuses and how it stacks with Heart of Earth or Heart of Water, and it will be great for him to have should he ever get knocked off his Griffon while they are in flight. The big one for him this level up, and it might need @DragonParadox's approval, is learning Clay Skin (refluffed as Bronze Skin), after retraining Dispelling Touch. It's a really freaking nice buff he can place on himself or others. Basically, it's Stone Skin, without a costly material component.

The spell loadouts for Dany and Rina are largely unchanged, though Rina got a few additional slots. These are intended more as everyday, walking around SD kinds of loadouts. We can whip up specialized loads when the mission calls for it.

[X] "It is a nice port city called Sorcerers Deep, sitting on a lagoon with crystal clear water, the land slowly rising towards the mountains. The sky is rarely clouded, the fresh breeze of the sea ever present and the flames of the sun shine warmly upon it. A wonderful place to call my home."
-[X] "I would like you to recall what you said about keeping secrets to be kept getting told them. Also recall what I said about the Sultans mood after his recent... misfortune. You would do well to keep this information quiet."
-[X] "Aside from the Deep, I also rule a good portion of one of the continents of my plane, which is ever expanding. I do not mean to brag though."

@Goldfish, give Waymar Dimension Door. It's a gish mainstay for a reason, and Waymar is such a threat to anyone near him, that he basically can't be ignored, only avoided. So take that option away from them too.

@Goldfish, I wanted to put points in Craft (Poison Making) for Tyene. Can we shift one point from Diplomacy and Sense Motive each for that?

Who knows, maybe Tyene might actually start using poisons in combat now. I'm half expecting people to react with surprise when she tells them she's a Poisons Mistress.

... Holy crap, I actually can't remember the last time she used poison.

I think even the utility of having someone who can whip up an antivenom or antidote is sufficient reason to keep a poison expert around, considering how nasty the higher end ones can get, and the fact that poisons are more deadly with these house rules.

Very true, but even so, it'd be nice to have Tyene be able to use some of the neater poisons we've gotten access to.

For example, the poison-infused spell the Uniila used to basically one-shot Lya. Those are the kinds of tactics we should be going for.
