For what it's worth I'm sorry I did not spell out 'slavers'.

I figured pirates of the Plane of Fire looking for a slave transport would be enough, but I guess with all the stuff happening in an update it's easy to miss.

  • [X] Propose a different plan.
-[X] "We have found that Devils can often be disturbingly clever, and giving them even the slightest opportunity frequently leads them to implementing Fiendishly dangerous plots or fleeing entirely, neither of which is in our best interest today. Rather than ceding the initiative to the Baatezu, we shall instead strike them suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, using tactics similar to those they all to often employ thanks to their natural...gifts."
--[X] "Rest assured, I see no need to renegotiate our previously agreed upon terms, even if my preferred approach minimizes the Golden Winds' role in the coming raid. Of course, we will be taking the captured ship for ourselves, which I do not consider a facet of the terms."
-[X] We will instead approach the Devil vessel at maximum speed. Once it is in visual range, Viserys will Teleport to within Firebrand range of the vessel, cast a Quickened, Searing, Agonizing Firebrand targeting every visible enemy, taking care to avoid directly damaging the vessel, then make a strafing pass using Maximized, Searing, Agonizing, Dispelling Fire Breath, again attempting to prevent unnecessary damage to the vessel.
--[X] Immediately after Viserys' strafing attack, Dany will Teleport (sacrificing her prepared Break Enchantment spell) herself, Richard, Rina, and two of Yrten's crew, while Tyene Teleports herself, Waymar, Yrten, and two more of his crew, all aiming for cleared areas of the deck. If she is capable and willing, it would also be helpful if Siduri could Teleport another strike team to the Devil vessel.
--[X] Meanwhile, the Golden Wind will approach, hopefully unmolested by the distracted Devil's, in order to lend the support of its crew and weapons to our attack.
    -[X] Just before the Devil vessel is to be attacked;
--[X] Tyene will cast Fickle Winds on the party, along with Mass Resist Energy (Cold) and Mass Resist Energy (Fire) (using four 2nd level spell slots). She also renews her Greater Blindsight spell.
--[X] Dany and Rina renew their Sign spells.
--[X] Waymar renews his See Invisibility and Heart of Earth spells.
--[X] Viserys renews his Heart of Earth spell, then casts Mirror Image, Scinitillating Scales, Starmantle, and Greater Blink. Just before beginning the attack, he casts Searing, Agonizing Mass Fire Shield on the party, then casts Arcane Spellsurge (using two 6th level spell slots).
    [X] Plan due rewards

[X] Stick to the deal you've made and do not try to murder your allies.

@Goldfish, I am 100% against reinforcing Dany's dogma, and will oppose any attempts to murder these guys. If it comes to it we'll just ransom the slaves.

Killing slavers even after making deals to work with them is a terrible precedent to make.

No. Goldfish is still trying to extort the ship from them and using a sub-optimal battle-plan in preparation to murder them.
The plan is actually good. Teleporting in a lightning strike with two-three teams of adventurers after Viserys sweeps the deck. Note he is buffing the entire damn ship with Magic Army and Fire Shield.

I doubt "kill them all" will win a vote afterwards.

The ship is something they didn't consider taking at all. So it can't possibly qualify as extorting them.

Many IRL pirate crews were freed slaves or people generally rebelling against oppression and the lack of control of their destinies.

At least that's the image on my mind. Of course, there's also the scum and scoundrels.

Cant we just let the enslave the devils? There should be a market for thematic if only as fresh reagents and graft material. Not really different from what we do anyway. We are taking the winged snake and I dont think even they are ballsy enough to enslave efreeti (except maybe as POWs to the Shaitan or other enemy polity). So it's just the elementals that would be a problem and those should be dirt cheap in the plane anyway.

He literally told us on our first meeting that he hopes to take the vessel if it isn't damaged too badly.

And I'm referring to him excluding them from buffs.

DP just told us that Yrten isn't interested in the ship, as it's too noticeable.

If it's that big a deal, I'll add the buffs back in.

...I want to kill them off not because they are slavers, I can't give less of a fuck about that on this plane, but because I don't like how loot will likely be distributed.

And again, I can't give less of a fuck about keeping out word on this plane.

This shithole isn't worth it, plain and simple.

Plan updated to remove specifically claiming the ship and to re-add buffs to Yrten's crew. Let's deal in good faith and see where it gets us. Hopefully there won't be any issues with Dany.

I think assuming we can take the ship ourselves and trying to screw over these guys whom I'd like to develope a long term relationship with is a horrible idea. I'd like to come up with a better plan, but I'll take this over making an ass of ourselves.

Word will get back to our Shaitan allies and they will hate our guts for dealing in bad faith with other allies.

You want to piss away our reputation over shinies.

This is our own fault. We undersold our value and blindly accepted a 50/50 deal.

[X] Goldfish

Lesson learned, we should now fight against whatever pushes there are in the thread to not negotiate.

I don't see much of a problem with a kinda bad deal.
We need some muscle and connections on this plane if our raids are ever gonna work without our personal presence, and who better to tap for that than an experienced pirate.

Let's just see this as "motivator for further good relations".

..regarding the battle plan, yeah I'm not that exited in playing bait, but don't Viserys fireballs outrange near anything they can throw at us?

In other news: Water is wet, Richard is badass, Dany is going to be a fucking bother.

And its not like we can't kill off every slaver here without leaving a trace.

If done right, Shaitan will need a very specific set of divinations to reveal our mind-blanked deceit of a bunch of shit-tier slaver-pirates.
So specific, I dare to say, it would totally break my SoD for them to do so.

If any argument incites me to let them live, it is "Fuck you Dany, we are going to deal with slavers if that what it takes" Duesal presented.
I really can't stand that particular quirk of hers, however much I agree with it, as it is simply inefficient as f.

But whatever, really.
I'm not that hang up on it right now, as we have yet to actually kill all enemies yet.

Really, I don't mind not getting the greatest possible deal here. We're getting loot, on top of everything we just took from the Efreeti, and still have three days to raid whalers.

Best case, we make some valuable contacts among Yrten and his crew. Worst case, they betray betray us and we kill them all. We'll probably just end up taking part of our loot in slaves.
