We're getting paid to get flying ships?! :D @DragonParadox, there's no obligation to start that right away? When should we start?

Also, @Goldfish, preparation for Sothoryos—give them a bag of holding, a bunch of Dawn Fruit, and right before the spiders have Vee use Heroe's Feast.

I also think Waymar should be going with them.
I think we should start with sending Amrelath, he don't have much to do at the moment, it's a job he will be really good at, and giving him opportunities to expand his hoard make him happy.

@Azel maybe mention Wyla so Saan dont atempt to extort the newly opened Naathi harbour town. Or something.
He should already be aware of her and if not, we mention it later. I'm not trusting the Tyroshi lady that is with him, which is why I carefully moderated my words.

Essos thinking us weak in the Narrow Sea and trying to contest us in the Basilisk Isles plays right into our hands.

As I understood it, he wanted a payment to sponsor turning the Basilisk isles into a productive fief, he's expecting to spend some of his own money as well, and wanted us to contribute to the initial funds.
Which is why I promise him ample coin and support the moment he takes the first island. We have tons of former slaves in the Disputed Lands to farm exotic fruits and wood in that climate.

I'm especially looking forward to making some cocoa and coconut plantations there.

This isn't hot air. By taking this deal, he will become the ruler of a rich, tropical paradise.

I understood it like the geni wanted them - please tell me I misread that part, please?

"Viserys? We did you call me back, we talked about that, I was fine with dying."
"One, you did come back, so, you wanted and two, your replacement sucks."

Edit: We were talking about 'Cyclic reincarnation' or something similar - did we get that spell?

They will buy them from us if we want to sell them, they will pay us for taking them from the Efreeti, and they are furthermore pledging to buy anything we take from the Shaitan that we don't need, we aren't obligated to sell the ships, they are just promising to buy them if we want to sell them, the same with the cargo and the slaves, though we of course aren't selling the slaves, we are setting them free, but we haven't been making waves about us being anti-slavery with the Shaitan's, so they made the offer in good faith.

I still think we should immediately put Amrelath on this task by the way.

Added some stage directions to the vote. Let it be clear here that we are offering Salladhor pretty much his wildest dreams. When all is said and done, he will be the lord of tits and wine.

Continuing my series of posts related to preparations for the Sothoryos Expedition, here are two proposed Sothoryos-specific spell loadouts for Malarys, one a bit blastier in case we bring a melee-focused party member, and the other with some melee combat buffs should Malarys need to stab something in the face. With a couple spells, Malarys can become quite the murderblender.

Both loadouts include Control Vermin and Repel Vermin, for obvious reasons, a Mass Resist Energy spell because no one else will be available to provide the effect, a Radiant Assault spell for a hard-hitting AoE spell with good CC side-effects, and a Wind Walk spell, which should ideally be the group's preferred method of travel, due to the long duration, potential for high speed, and its minor defensive aspect. Maelor's Phantom Steeds remain available, but I think he'll probably need to use those spell slots to sling Fireballs.

As I stated earlier, I would prefer to bring Bronn or Waymar, so as to prevent Malarys from needing to use his spell slots on melee spells.
Enhanced Blaster Loadout:
Level 0 (6/day): Cure Minor Wounds, Detect Poison, Detect Magic x2, Message x2
Level 1 (4+2+D/day): Barbed Chains x2, Endure Elements, Entropic Shield, Shield of Faith, Sign, Detect Secret Doors(D)
Level 2 (4+2+D/day): Boneshaker x3, Close Wounds, Defending Bone, Sound Burst, Detect Thoughts (D)
Level 3 (4+1+D/day): Alter Fortune, Control Vermin, Dispel Magic, Mass Resist Energy, Tongues, Magic Circle Against Chaos (D)
Level 4 (4+1+D/day): Assay Spell Resistance, Blessing of Fervor, Repel Vermin, Sound Lance, Phantasmal Killer(D)
Level 5 (3+1+D/day): Boneshatter x3, Triadspell, True Seeing (D)
Level 6 (2+1+D/day): Greater Dispel Magic, Stone Body, Wind Walk, Hold Monster (D)
Level 7 (1+D/day): Radiant Assault, Dictum(D)

OR

Enhanced Melee Loadout:
Spells Prepared (Caster level 13/14 [Law and Divination]/17 [Dispel]):

Level 0 (6/day): Cure Minor Wounds, Detect Poison, Detect Magic x2, Message x2
Level 1 (4+2+D/day): Barbed Chains, Divine Favor, Endure Elements, Entropic Shield, Shield of Faith, Sign, Detect Secret Doors(D)
Level 2 (4+2+D/day): Boneshaker x2, Close Wounds, Defending Bone, Ironskin, Sound Burst, Detect Thoughts (D)
Level 3 (4+1+D/day): Alter Fortune, Control Vermin, Dispel Magic, Mass Resist Energy, Tongues, Magic Circle Against Chaos (D)
Level 4 (4+1+D/day): Assay Spell Resistance, Divine Power, Repel Vermin, Sound Lance, Phantasmal Killer(D)
Level 5 (3+1+D/day): Boneshatter x2, Righteous Might, Triadspell, True Seeing (D)
Level 6 (2+1+D/day): Greater Dispel Magic, Stone Body, Wind Walk, Hold Monster (D)
Level 7 (1+D/day): Radiant Assault,Dictum(D)
Next on the agenda, temporary assignment of magic items.

We should have Richard lend his Corpse-Ferrying Bag to the Sothoryos group.

We had Lya scribe quite a few useful spell scrolls last month, some of which could be quite helpful on the Sothoryos Expedition. From the selection, she should give them Cure Light Wounds(x10), Panacea(x4), Restoration(x1), Lesser Restoration(x2), Comprehend Languages(x4), Plane Shift(x1), and Teleport(x1). Ideally, none of these would be necessary, especially since Vee is an excellent healer and transportation specialist, but she might not be available, or the spell slots might be better spent on more important spells. Maelor's UMD skill is high enough that he would have a good chance to be able to use most of these scrolls as well.

Thoughts or suggestions?

It's not often that I'm happy about a reading comprehension fail ...
No worries. Even if the Grand Vizier wanted those ships, I would be researching like hell to find a loophole that lets us keep it. We struggled to get to the position to have these missions commissioned to us in the first place, and one of the first things we did was clarify that all loot would be ours. We are not sharing.

@Goldfish, regarding Sothoryos:
1. Heroes' Feast cast before we round up the spider
2. Give them dozens of apples just in case
3. Please send Waymar so they can have a proper tank

1) The issue with Heroes' Feast is that Vee has an extremely limited number of 6th level spell slots, even with Versatile Spellcaster. Let me think about that.
2) I'll add taking a supply of Dawn Fruit to my final list.
3) I prefer Waymar over Bronn, as well, but he just doesn't have enough free days available. That said, Bronn is 12th level and really quite deadly since his retraining. He would be a good addition to the expedition.

Sure, but at the very least on the first day the Poison Immunity will make cleaning up the spiders a lot easier just in case there happen to be any nasty surprises.

EDIT: If necessary, she could cast the spell, then use a bedroll, and then head out.

If they ask us to steal something for them we will probably do it, but then they will have to pay the mission fee plus the items worth, plus a bonus.

What are the mechanical effects of eating Dawn Fruit? I cannot recall, nor can I find the entry anywhere on the front page.

That's a given.

Here you go:
Elysium Fruit primary effect discovered: Cures Fatigue/Lessens Exhaustion to Fatigue and grants +2 sacred bonus to saves vs. Necromancy spells for one hour
The primary thing here is the "Cures Fatigue/Lessens Exhaustion to Fatigue" ability which is massively useful on an intensive mission like this. The bonus against necromancy is nice too.

...@Duesal, @Goldfish, any buffs that have sense being placed on Irony?
If all goes as planned, he will be in danger - Viserys flying with him in claws and stoning spiders en-mass.

...Any spells to make his breath harder to resist?
