It's Stirland. That they didn't all resign in outrage at them swapping out a weapon made in Stirland and used for generations for some fancy Wissenland toy means he got at least a partial success.
Can serving soldiers resign? Are these deserters?

Wolf pup and message running are the most important; note that the tally splits the count for the latter for some reason so it's easy to miss half the votes for it. It's still way behind, though, and we need more support from the dwarfholds badly.

This is basically what I wanted, for similar reasons.

[x] Accept as leader of the Stirlander forces (commanding 5,000 crossbowmen and 5,000 huntsmen).
[x] The Stirlander forces
[x] Spend time with your wolf pup, trying to develop a famliar bond.
[x] Deliver last-minute messages for Belegar, trying to scrape together any remaining support to be had before leaving.
- [x] To Dwarfholds of the Grey and Black Mountains.

Also, it's quite possible we're taking ourselves and these troops in the wrong direction.

Any and all citizens can be pressed into service when the times call for it, but it is possible to resign from the professional military during peace.

Could get Asarnil again since he did like our translation and this event is worthy to his name and gaining Dwarf favour
Better to interact with the Stirlander for morale and keep tabs.

Cheers. One thing about the familiar-everyone is fixating in +1 Magic and the Miscast chance- to avoid disappointment, if the boon is random like in the RPG it might be worth clarifying now?

The most important thing is getting some more artillery and rune priests otherwise this whole expedition is probably screwed.

Stirlander forces because even if we don't lead them the morale boost should be good and if they can't find a leader we can probably just take over.

Wolf pup because hey, easy familiar.

I also wouldn't mind the amber wizards and the ranger and the thrane but we can do all that later.

(Also familiar appears to have been spelt incorrectly in the vote.)

I'm inspired by something @DarkLight140 said; what if we cement our place as the commander of these men and then (after this campaign) use them to conquer a region of the Border Princes closest to the Empire? Are Empire nobles allowed to hold non-Empire lands? I figure that having a bastion of land from whence we can levy troops and collect taxes that isn't our miserable rocky domain in Stirland is a worthy prize.

We can socialize later, for now we need troops.

If the Gray Collage decides that we are breaking the collage rules then doing out side the empire wont help us.

Ooh, that's a cool one. There's no limit to the size and weight which means journeyman in question can make a few hundred yards of barbed wire out of knotted rope. Ultimate charge stopper.
Knots aren't sharp, though? And it still has problems like "falls to the ground" unless you've tied the rope between trees or something beforehand - if you merely have people holding it, your charge stopper is now two people trying to hold a metal rod across a charge.

I was more intrigued by Form of the Soaring Raven, which is great scouting as it combines long-duration flight with disguise and small size, although it'll get less useful inside the hold proper (unless the halls are really large).

The Grey Order would almost certainly frown on such shenanigans as being a violation of the rule that Grey Wizards are supposed to live in relative poverty, owning only what they need to perform their job. Now that is a large loophole, where we excuse that we "need" a fief to support our knighthood, but owning a principality would be over the line.

Much as I would like to socialize with the pup and our fellow wizards, i think we NEED to get those reinforcement rolls. It's the single most important thing we can do this turn as far as we're aware. Whether we lead the journeymen or the Stirlanders.

Medieval quality rope, if made metal, would be quite dangerous to touch.

And yes, it'll have to be fixed somehow.

That'd be very useful asset if not for all those airborne demigryph knights. Considering them, it's just useful.

Yeah, we'd better help them carve out their own princedom for themselves. That's a thing Grey Wizards do.

Now to hope the Journeymen liked the same spells we do. ;)

Messages to the Colleges and the Dwarfs seem good to me, but what are we hoping to get from Elector Counts? It seems to me the Empire as a whole has said 'no' and a bunch of Empire soldiers came on their own accord; I don't expect Elector Counts to overturn Empire policy nor send more of their own soldiers to follow the ones who resigned already.

The Empire as a whole fell into infighting when all the counts got together. This would be going to each one personally and appealling to them. They wouldn't be distracted by their peers and grievances. Hopefully.
