Huh. How did the other fronts/powers go? Because this seems a bit like the kind of thing that holds the potential to affect how the Coalition looks at each other post-war.

You never made it to Tortun territory, while they were only lightly squeezed into their own territory through a magnificent but ultimately doomed series of defenses. Everyone has paid considerable blood, enough that a good peace now will appease everyone but the Ochruhr. Some are kind of annoyed that you took so long dealing with the Wyrmyn, but acknowledge that keeping them out of the fight was a key component in making sure the Tortun could not throw the Coalition back.

If you choose a convention this turn then you will have 4 PW to spend, plus anything else from choices you might generate during the constitution (with the Levee en Mass tech you can now address conscription in your constitution, and there are some issues where people might want to futz about a bit with current laws).

This is actually a pretty great deal for us. It achieves most of what we want geopolitically. A generation is about how long I was hoping to knock Tortun out for.

More importantly, with the Tortuns bandying their ethnic nationalism about, we need to be quick to introduce the idea of civic nationalism to the world. It doesn't matter where you're from, what language you speak, what color you are, or what gods you worship. As long as you're willing to be a productive part of society, you can be Ymaryn.

Guys. Beeline Nationalism. We don't want to be Number Two there. It lets us draw deeper on manpower reserves and it helps with the Guilds by giving Guildsmen higher loyalties to the State than their Guild

Nationalism is nice but I think Academic Freedom is more important and will help us develop faster. It's necessary seeing as how we're always struggling to catch up.

Not so much. Academic Freedom is destabilizing for us at this juncture since it'd speed up all the social pressures from new ideas. We hadn't finished swallowing Representation yet, and the Guilds are already raising hell.

Nationalism to raise stability and loyalty before Academic Freedom to spend it.

I'm going for Nationalism because getting some early Nationalism will help us curb Wyrmyn nationalism to a degree by helping them feel as if they are part of The People.

Question, which direction do we want to take our third Academy in? Of the four options we have seen (Social, Military, Industrial, Science) we have two of Social and Military. While having one of each is nice, specializing in Social or Military would not necessarily be a bad thing.

With 4 you can probably break the guilds, but it really isn't enough. Then again taking a few more years to let things continue to fester could have negative consequences as well.
