@Goldfish @Diomedon Please include checking for Illyrio with a wayfinder on a constant basis from now on, as a note to schedule?

I just realized something.

After Tyrosh, we might be able to finally go to Sothoryos to where all those spiders are, and we can take the Shadow Tower with us.

We can capture so many dire fiendish spiders for sacrifice. Between Viserys' Baleful Polymorph and Lya's Smoky Confinement, we might end up with several Tier-3 Heart Trees' worth of sacrifices. Of course it all depends on how many we can properly corral, and if we can capture better sacrifices while we're there (spell conservation is key), but yeah. Even just on the surface that trip is looking lucrative, and this is before touching Yss' reward for sacrificing the Mantis God Head.

Some of those spiders were literally bigger than dragons. Just take a minute to muse on how many HD that has to be.

This is going to be great.

EDIT: I'm also looking forward to looting all the snake people. They're probably going to want to come with us since we're the ones who have Yss.

Hrm, I should probably write up the modifications as a vote for DP's ease of reading. I'll do that in a few minutes, and include Viserys making a habit of checking in on if Illyrio has popped up at all as a habit whenever he's waiting for something.

Edit: Never had SV insert an old draft in the middle of a sentence before...

I'm...Pret~ty sure that moving tower makes a lot of noise, and not only on physical level.

Moving it to get sellswords here? Will awake all undead.
Moving it to Sothoryos? Will get every fucking thing in jungles gunning for it.
And let's not even try to move it anywhere close to Valyria.

I mean, Sothoryos itself is looking to be a fairly promising timesink, if only for Yss' quest here. But I kind of prefer not to have everything everywhere knowing that something big has turned up and requires killing when we are around.

I wonder what would the necromancer in Volantis think about us having our own Dracolich...

I just hope that it doesn't cause him wet dreams

There is also those artifacts and likely other loot the spiders are guarding.
Eh. That's all low level crap that we can foist off onto the baby Scholarum mages or Teana if she wants any of it. Likely cursed, too. The real prize is how many sacrifices there are just waiting to be harvested. Well, the sacrifices, then Yss' reward--whatever the hell it was the Valyrians were looking for--and lastly, Yss' children to be added to the horde.

Yep. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And they can bring it. More sacrifices for us. More trophies for us. More XP for us. They want to come investigate we are all to happy to bring out the big guns. We kind of need the Shadow Tower because it allows us to transport massive amounts of loot and an unlimited amount of people. It's far too great of a tactical advantage not to bring along, loudness or no.

If Lolth's priests rear their heads we'll finally have an IC warning and start planning for their extermination.

Eh.
I'm kind of salty between dracolich situation resolving itself in a way I didn't see coming and Illyrio getting away, so that's probably why I'm not enthused with notions of doing anything right now, but whatever.
Sothoryos... Well, it's a better place to go timesinking than others we have available, if only by Yss' mercy.

I dearly hope we get to restoring and deciphering Illyrio's documents as soon as possible.

Along with cursing priests to hell and back and having them dictate lore and magical knowledge to pen-dragons for days and days to no end.
And plans/disposition of Tiamat, I guess.

Frankly speaking, I feel like we need to concentrate on this success of ours and not let go until Tiamat's pawns are all gone. Because let's be honest, she's going to make endgame a political/strategical nightmare.

I feel you on the dracolich situation. After Relath I'm downright suspicious and dreading the day Amrelath starts demanding his share of the horde. I would have preferred to have simply fed him to Yss, but what's done is done. Might as well make the most of the situation. We have a fucking dracolich now. So what if it doesn't actually want to be a dracolich? It's sworn to us and I'll be damned if we don't use that to our advantage.

For example... I fully intend to use Amrelath to help hunt down the Golden Company. They have nine drakes? We have a dracolich. They have a champion of Tiamat? We're a fucking dragon. By the time we're done the Golden Company will be ash on the wind, Blackfyre will be in our hands, and the Blackfyre champion will be in chains before us.

Also, Sothoryos is going to be great. Almost everything there is bound to be sacrifice fodder. I'm really looking forward to it.

On that, we have someone who can cure diseases right? I don't want a member of the party to die from red death, yellowgum or some other nameless horrible Sothori tropical disease that's probably magical in nature or worse bringing it back to Sorcerers Deep.

Yep. Vee, Tyene, Lya, Dany, and Malarys. Even Viserys now via Bloodwish.

Remove Disease, Panacea, Heal, etc. Magic is great. :D Trust me, we've planned this trip for a long, long time. We're plenty prepared.

Hmmm... I wonder...
So, Old Gods and Others act in retaliation with each-other actions...
...Just how bad is it going to be, if Old Gods will get a near-epic-level entity as a dinner power-up?
*whimpers*

Ahem.
On an unrelated matter... What's our plans with spellblobs? Are there ways to multiply them?
I think that getting a vat with one of those for every 1-2 hundred legioners will be helluva useful for them...

It doesn't really work like that. It's if the Old Gods themselves do an action that the Others get to act in turn. I'll lay it out real quick.

Old Gods make Arya their Chosen? The Others get the chance to try to make their own chosen. They chose Brandon Nightstark since he bears their blood, and they failed.

The Old Gods empower any druids or rangers? The Others get to empower agents of their own.

The Old Gods bring Rhaella Targaryen back to life? The Others get to send a Frost Dragon with a perma-kill breathweapon.

It matters if the gods themselves make the moves. The agents are free to do as they please. That's why we're such a fantastic ally for the Old Gods. We regularly bring them powerful sacrifices, we've grown two Tier-3 Heart Trees which we have the power to protect, we require minimal intervention on their part as we go about our business, we're working to save the Children from extinction, etc. And most of this stuff was without their direct help.

But back to the topic at hand. With the Landwarden, we're the one who's going through the effort of providing the sacrifices and coaxing the Landwarden into binding with the Heart Tree. The Old Gods, while benefiting from the arrangement, played very little part in making it come about. This was all us. So because the Old Gods didn't act, the Others don't get to act.

We should get Lya to scribe Panacea scrolls to save spell slots, I know I'm sounding paranoid but reading World of Ice and Fire makes me believe that Sothoryos really is that deadly.

Certainly not a bad idea...

Or we could bring the Living Spell of Panacea and just store it in the Shadow Tower. And at the end of each day of the expedition everyone is required to touch the blob and purge themselves of disease. Saves us Lya's time and the money for scribing scrolls. ;)

Wondering what to do with Blackfyre... I guess we could give it to Dany?

That actually sounds pretty cool... just no giving it to Jon. *shudder*

No Snowfyre. :V

Also, as an added precaution, everyone wears disposable clothing, and it all burns before we leave. Added to that, prestidigitation cleansing, since that's the closest thing I can think of to scouring all contaminants from people in terms of sterilization.

I really wanted it for Viserys. I know Dark Sister turned out to be better for Viserys rather than Dany, but this is freaking Blackfyre we're talking about here. The sword of kings. If it doesn't go for Viserys I understand, but god damn it. :(

That aside, when we reach the epic levels I want to forge a sword for the Dragon Emperor Viserys--an artifact blade designed for him, crafted by Lya. A sentient blade that answers to Viserys above all others, that empowers his sorcery, etc. The more experienced D&D players of the thread would know best which effects are the best on there, but yeah. There you go, major dream of mine. Once in epic levels, forge Viserys a Blade of the Dragon Emperor.

It's not a Panacea blob. It's a Cure Critical Wounds blob, which means more healing, but little utility.

So here's the plan for the rest of this trip. Now that they're not united and surrendered, let people who have other work to do go home ahead of us, finish vetting, get the tower and begin extracting the loot. The undead will probably be a bit unruly, but we'll still have quite a significant force present to deal with surprises.

[X] Plan Sallosh Cleanup
-[X] Vee, Lya, Dany, Maelor and Glyra head home, with Lya giving warning to the tower to make preparations for it to be moved, ask Amrelath if he'd expect complications, etc.
-[X] Viserys, Ser Richard, Waymar, and Malarys stay to finish vetting the remaining sellswords, and have them pack up and move to just outside the city.
-[X] Viserys and Ser Richard then teleports back to SD, finishes preparations and rests, and then returns carrying the Shadow Tower (which should include Teana and Leila, and any of the more adventurous mages) to the spot outside the city.
-[X] Begin looting what is easily found within the city, focusing first on what had already been looted by the company and was in Illyrio's storage, and see what you can glean from the runed door. Put to rest any unquiet dead that are awakened by these proceedings.
-[X] The next day, have everyone (except Ser Richard) pack into the Shadow Tower, and teleport home to SD.
-[X] Whenever Viserys is forced to wait on others or finds himself with a free contemplative moment, flip open the wayfinder and search for Illyrio.

Day Viserys Dany Richard Vee Lya Tyene Waymar Xor Maelor Glyra Garin Malarys ???

Had to alter the new crafting slightly. We accidentally were using the EA discount twice in figuring out time. Rather than a PfE Amulet for Teana, I figure Lya should get Bronn's (who we promised at the arena) armor out of the way, and free Maelor of that -1 Wisdom modifier.

Also have we considered we could just make a spell specifically for the trip? Resist Disease if we want to just walk around being plague incubators until we can find the time to drop a Panacea on the party, or Immunization (or some better name) if we want to no-sell them.
