@DragonParadox, relevant updates regarding the Shadow Tower:
Gained Shadow Tower

Description:
This ancient Dragonstone tower rests now in its own sundered shadow, a small world onto itself, from the jagged tip to the lowest depths where once the Whispering Gate stood. Warded by potent magics and containing many secrets the tower is a treasure trove of lost history.

Ability: The tower can be entered by speaking the correct command words before the smooth unblemished man-high plinth of dragonstone that serves as its key. It can only be activated when the plinth rests on solid ground. On activation arcane symbols race across the stone and a shadow as long as the tower would cast were it to stand upon that place stretches out from the pillar. Those who step (or are covered) by this shadow are instantly transported to the Under-hall of the Shadow Tower to an identical plinth. To leave one has merely to speak the command word again. The gates of the tower lead nowhere but to a cold unformed void.
We also have the anti-divination room, Lya's laboratory, wherever they locked up the demonic artifacts, Lya and Viserys' room with the heated running water, the library, etc.

Rather than waste Lya's time on an issue that we can put off for years if necessary, we should see about getting her some more useful spells for the upcoming battle; Banishment, Dismissal, Magic Circle Against Evil, Life's Grace, Pillar of Life, etc.

We're likely to be dealing with Outsiders and Undead, so we should prepare accordingly.

Let's use a few of these five days to bring Elia back from the dead!

And giving Amrelath a new body should be a priority: it weakens him in case he turns on us!

While waiting on Oberyn is a bit too much, I don't think we want to do that while Tyene is off in the Reach. She's our main line into Dorne. I also want to see how diplomacy goes in the Vale with the Royces first, so if there are...more difficulties there, we'd now have a comparison point for Dorne.

I mean, we could fit it in there if we really wanted to, but early next month, with more flexibility in choosing who is present and less rushed seems better to me.

I'm not sure if we're all on for Elia. It's probably a next turn action though.

If Amrelath doesn't turn on us during this upcoming battle, he won't at all, so long as we keep faith (which we will).

Are there not any other errands at all we've been setting aside for an ambiguous "later"? Anyone?

More work on the Night's Watch Library (should be 2-ish days left there) and/or looking into the nightfort stuff. Poking the petrified tree and our horselord are all the remaining small things I can recall of the top of my head. I think checking in on our Braavosi allies might be the best choice from a story perspective, but we there are alternatives.

...I'd honestly rather first deal with Illyrio, while we haven't lost him to wards/Tiamat's protections, hopefully alongside that battle-cleric.

[X] Wait five more days to have the full aid of Amrelath the Accursed in the battle for Vaes Athjikhari
-[X] We should take the opportunity to run some errands in the intervening period.
--[X] Lya will take the intervening time to learn useful spells from the relevant party members/scrolls:
Banishment, Dismissal, Magic Circle Against Evil, Life's Grace, Pillar of Life.
--[X] We will use one day to meet up with our pet Dothraki.
--[X] Another day to venture to Braavos, to meet two of our contacts in the Windward Society; First Menel Goldentooth, hopefully to find some better maps as according to @Duesal's wishlist for this turn. Then Aubert Flowers, who might be of some aide in our Blackfyre dilemma.
--[X] While we are there we should visit the Silver Eye as well and see how all of our Braavosi friends are doing. Visiting the Fairwinds with their children in tow should be simplicity itself. Uthero and Aly should be in the cards too.
--[X] Spend one or two days investigating the Nightfort.
--[X] Spend the last taking our Children of the Forest liason to see the petrified tree, do a little cursory investigation with her. There's got to be something more to it.

Five errands total.

Acceptable?

I don't want to head back to Castle Black yet, but we should get that Nightfort thing out of the way before the black brothers raid all their old castles for loot.

@Crake I suspect the Nightfort is where Mormont is (since he wasn't at castle black). I think we missed the narrow window to beat the crows there, so I'm not 100% sure we can just drop in. Our closest teleport point to get there is also Castle Black itself.

I honestly think it's still worth doing, even if only to drop in on Mormont and offer our expertise on anything he might find there. It's still a novel enough place to visit... and it might uh... have something screwy going on with it.

Given its history.

Maybe a chance to be a big damn hero unexpectedly.

@Duesal: Reasoning for bringing Leila?

Also, Braavos is all a one day action. There's really no reason why touching base should take more than one day.

1. Archivist--doesn't hurt to have a magical researcher on hand, even an amateur, while Lya is busy learning spells.
2. She feels safest with us. This is a sanitized way for her to get XP if we luck out and get an encounter. If we could keep a magicless ranger Beyond the Wall safe we can keep Leila safe.

Overall I want to do the Nightfort a lot more than I want to do the Silver Eye. The latter just opens up a can of worms I don't want us dealing with right now.

So it's less worry about running out of time (we wouldn't, I only allocated a day to it) and more just not wanting to poke it.

That's honesty at work, folks.

@Diomedon is that your way of subtly telling me we should just help Aemon out in the library instead?

If you spelled subtly like this.

More of an expectation management thing. Like...popping over to the Nightfort is still viable, but we just should be prepared for either exploration or sudden diplomacy. Or a mix.

@Duesal The Silver Eye is based in the Windward Society's tower. I don't see how we could visit and not check in.

Just remembered that Valaena and Bronn should be absent on the Queen Rhaella with... Argo and... anyone else? I know Leila should still be at home.

I want to invest more time in the Nightfort along with not wanting to poke the Silver Eye.

We learned in Castle Black that the Nightfort potentially has the oldest copies of magic tomes and whatnot. It's going to take more than a day.
@Duesal The Silver Eye is based in the Windward Society's tower. I don't see how we could visit and not check in.
We've done it before. We either visited the Iron Bank or the Fairwinds or Uthero on multiple occasions and didn't even bother looking the Silver Eye's way. Of all the times we've come back to Braavos we've only visited the Silver Eye once.

Also, we should really get Argo a Greater Ribbon of Disguise at some point.

Guys. The last time DP wanted to stall us was in Illyrios Manse and we promptly lost the lead for the Abishai.

This would invalidate all our anti-divination efforts and make us run right into a ambush. Both the cleric and Illyrio will be long gone.

[X] Strike now as planned and take Amrelath along.
-[X] Get Viserys CHA healed by the Restoration blob.

We need to finish this.

... I can't argue with this.
