If anything, politically the problem is a visual one. If she'd pulled out some Apokoliptian blaster and shot him and he'd neatly broken her neck or something like that there'd be far less backlash. But she attacked him with an invisible, subtle weapon, and he killed her messily enough that a power ring couldn't fix it.

Word of Zoat was she used her mind-whammy sparingly because it doesn't affect many people at a time, and she couldn't afford to spend her time vetting people in-depth.
Only her immediate staff got regular updates of Beenajuice, because they were often in her presence.
Beena really was just that good at ruling, and at picking competent subordinates with an interest in keeping her in power; her pheromone control was an edge, not a cheat code.
You don't need to control a lot of people, you just need to control the right people.

I think the problem arises when person A is a right prick (Sunday morning consists of blending puppies to grease the stairwell at the local Mosque) but he thinks he's an alright bloke cause he makes it to church on time and says his prayers. Yay them.
Person B is a saintly chap, food drives for the elderly and highly vocal against the Bottletops in Blowholes pandemic but he's too hard on himself and always believes he could've done more/better.
Which of the two met their own standard?
Which "deserves" to go to Heaven?

The one that lived up to his own standards ofcourse.

If you think that is wrong, then just get society involved into it, we know there are rituals to sent souls to the wrong place, so society can actively influence the afterlife of the people it deems as horrible pricks if it wants to. Normal blokes should only live up to their own standards.

Didn't. Not couldn't. Power rings are perfectly capable of repairing any kind of physical trauma up to and including disintegration.
Not true, they can't fix damage when the data to do so isn't there (like Kon's ears), and can't re-attach souls to the dead. I doubt he did an upload-the-mind level brain scan of her. And that assumes she wasn't carrying a scry ward.

Still probably going to play well, at least regionally. No one in the region liked queen bee, and that she had mind control powers was probably fairly well known. Now around the world there is probably going to be some backlash, though if some people didn't spin it as merely what happen when you let metahumans run things i'd be surprised. The powers that be are probably more interested in discrediting metahuman rule rather than Adom specifically.

There was no evidence she was involved.
That was the whole point of bringing Diana along to check if she was telling the truth.

That doesn't seem to be Might One's attitude attitude.

"CAN THERE BE ANY DOUBT?!" The muscles on his neck stand out as he glares directly at me. "Who else has motive?! My city, the city named for my wife, lies bleeding and broken…" He leaps into the air, level with William and I. "And now you will no doubt try to dissuade me from avenging Kahndaqi blood." He shakes his head. "No. No. This is more than I can bear. The sands of Bialya will turn RED for this!"

And in particular it's not Paragon Paul's according to the broadcast.

"He knew as well as I did that Bialyan involvement seemed likely. Queen Beena denied everything and asked for a meeting. Both myself and Wonder Woman accompanied him to her palace in Al-Qawiya, me because I was the one who defended Shiruta during the attack and Wonder Woman because one of her many abilities is the ability to tell when someone is lying to her." [/quote]

Paul that her involvement was likely. Wonder Woman's involvement would certainly confirm things one way or another, but I don't think it's fair to say that these two, rightly or wrongly didn't suspect strongly Bee was involved. IC they thought she was involved.
And like I pointed out earlier, if she was in on it, the attack on Shiruta would have coincided with an attack on Adom since she knew where he was.
Beena is -was- a competent plotter.
Adom is supposed to have been a competent politician, and has had enough time to consider that he might be playing into the hands of his enemies.
And yet he's supposed to do this several days later?.

Well the motive for not meeting with not confronting Bee initially before that is that Paul specifically didn't want Adom to make a judgment in error, since he might regret it. The Mighty One respected Paul enough to wait. I'd note that Adom after decades of leading his country probably knew the strengths and weaknesses of his abilities, and believed he would be protected from overt manipulation. Or at least recognize. Also bronze age diplomacy was very much the way of the sword, with little in the way of actual negotations. There was a thread on SV a while back discussing why the Romans were no more aggressive or bloodthirsty than any other period group, just more succesful, which raises this.

Adom is used to old school diplomacy not the parlanace modern countries even bitter enemies allow, say at the UN engage in. I don't find any of his behavior odd. Now it may not be effective in the modern world, but then his attempt to engage with it and find a balance in his behavior in what has become of his kingdom is a major character point for him.

Seriously OL himself has taken injuries that should have been instantly fatal and healed from pretty much day one. Don't even get me started on the number of times he's been faced with 'impossible' tasks and then went and done it anyway. It's not really a surprise that people are wondering if he used his powered-by-plot ring to keep her alive.
I'm not recalling any injuries he's taken that would be instantly fatal. Given OL's speculation that he could probably survive as only a brain and a ring, he's never been injured enough that he would instantly die or go unconscious and die.

It's unfortunate that Queen Bee didn't speak before Adom, if for no other reason than then Wonder Woman could have gotten useful information from her built in lie detection. "I had no involvement with the attack" = LIE would have been useful data.

"You are in no place to make demands of me! You will tell your mistress that Princess Diana of Themyscira is coming, and you will tell her that if I detect even the slightest attempt at trickery then it will not take an invasion to remove her from power. No, I will kill the witch immediately myself."

"And then he tore her in half."
Queen Bee: "I have a cunning plan!"

Arab Baldrick: "Oh, a cunning plan my lady. How cunning is it?"

Queen Bee: "It's so cunning, you could stick a tail on it and call it a fox!"

Arab Baldrick: "What is this cunning plan, my lady?"

Queen Bee: "You know that guy, Teth Adom? Well, I'll invite him over for a press conference thing and then I'll mind-slave him with my powers!"

Arab Baldrick: "Teth Adom my lady? The Warrior King from a more brutal age that isn't shy about mercilessly killing his enemies?"

Queen Bee: "Yes, that's him."

Arab Baldrick: "This would be the same Teth Adom that's an Army Killer on par with Superman, but doesn't constantly hold back and treat his enemies with kid gloves? If I remember right, he normally kills his enemies. Quickly and brutally."

Queen Bee: "Yes, he will be a mighty pawn under my control!"

Arab Baldrick: "This would be the same Teth Adom that's blindingly furious right now because of an unprovoked attack on his people and probably has a short fuse and is looking for someone to punish for what happened?"

Queen Bee: "That's him exactly."

Arab Baldrick: "This would be the same Teth Adom that suspects you of involvement in the attack because of your past actions and threatened to kill you if he finds any evidence of your guilt?"

Queen Bee: "Yes, and with my greatest threat turned into my mightiest puppet, my reign will be secure!"

Arab Baldrick: "You're right my lady. That is a cunning plan. I can't think of any way it could go wrong."

Queen Bee: "Of course not, for I am Queen Bee. Sooooper Genius!"

There's a big metahuman leadership hole in Bialya now. People are worrying about the sister taking over, but it's pretty clear the super for the job is Queen Firebrand.

All hail! *fiery pyrotechnics*

Yes, let's put the fireball throwing gynoid with absolutely no leadership experience in charge of an entire country, that definitely seems like something that won't backfire (though it's the EXACT kind of stupid comics are known for).

Is it possible that Queen Bee herself was mindwhammied by someone/something? Either she outlived her usefulness and they just left a compulsion in her mind to commit suicide by Adom or she was meant to be a scapegoat all along.

Getting a chunk of your body unphased half way through a wall tends to be instantly lethal to anyone that isn't wearing a power ring.
You'd die quickly, but it wouldn't be instant, and OL only needs about two or three seconds to get back to normal. IRL, getting the lower half of your body cut off doesn't result in instant death.

I think you have the characters wrong there - that's definitely a Blackadder the Third episode with Queen Bee taking the role of Prince George, and probably played by Hugh Laurie in drag. Blackadder is being sarcastic at her, and it's flying over her head like one of Grayven's drones.

Baldrick is down in the kitchens admiring an allegedly-Apokoliptian turnip.
