Which means that it's time to once again break out that long-tired phrase: "Not Necessarily on Earth-16". C'mon, Chaoswind, you know Paul does his research. If the guy was doing anything that even reeked of taking advantage of women, do you think Paul would have approached him with a job offer in the first place?
I'm not Chaoswind, but probably yes? He'd offer the guy an alternate way to accomplish his goals.

OL doesn't usually let whether someone has done something bad in the past influence his decisions all that much, just whether they'll continue to be a threat going forward.

...I feel like that really shouldn't have worked.
Not in a "wow that's so ballsy" or "way to go" way or whatever, I mean that really shouldn't have worked and is legitimately creepy.

Like normally I give Paul a pass on some awkward missing the point stuff, but this is super serious actually shouldn't do that sort of territory.
Eugh.
Jade, as a trained assassin, probably has different ideas about that sort of thing. She's probably used to people in her life impersonating other people in her life without telling her and then revealing it obnoxiously.

But yeah, it's a bit creepy.

Also, "macroarachnophile" is my new favourite word, shame I'll likely never get to use it IRL. Or, not really a shame per se, since it means there's no giant spiders running around, but you know what I mean.

So someone finally managed to find some way of making the SI realize that they wanted to have sex with him without literally saying "fuck me now."
Solstice Fitness is unusual in Gotham City in that despite having an ominous name, it actually isn't owned by a supervillain or secret society.
How can you ever say for certain if something isn't owned by a secret society? Kinda defeats the whole point if people know about it.
What was she about to say? I hope she didn't think this Todd dude was whipping it out.
"Did you touch," because he was blatantly groping her tits.

Well, she recognized Paul because his hands felt different than Todd's so I imagine it was something like "Did you think I wouldn't notice [fill in the rest as you will]"

Edit: Darn, ninja'd

Well, Zatana's not going to be happy... I guess, I mean, she could go both ways?

Well, I suppose we'll see once harem shenanigans start back up.
I think she's like fifteen at this point (maybe still fourteen), so even if she were into that (which this Zatanna isn't, per Zoat's reply), I don't see Paul going there. Jade is around nineteen or twenty (probably twenty by now), so she's fully legal, and seems to be more emotionally mature than some people in their thirties... possibly including Paul, in some ways, enlightenment aside.

Hm, I'll spoiler my thoughts just in case, as the last time I didn't do so in an unthinking fashion, I got people (rightly) jumping down my throat.
Given we know that Zatanna is no longer the OTP in on the Paragon side, I wonder if this means that Jade is. It'd make for a nice bit of symmetry with the Renegade side of things, as he had a stronger relationship to begin with, but blew it by being Grayven, whereas Paul flubbed it over and over, but had a stronger relationship in the long run once it actually began because he's more open. We know the two of them are compatible as a couple from the Renegade side no less. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

I thought i was the only one that thinks this is cringey but supervillains are weird so creative interpretations should be allowed i guess. Can't wait for this scene to end and get back to fighting bad guys

Next chapter we find out that this business is controlled by a villain. A villain that has the joint bugged.

Paul will be Cake Man no longer once a certain voice-only recording hits the web! Spider-Sucker? Arachno-... the Orange Egg-Carrier?

Bad thoughts.

It was mostly a joke, admittedly.

I have no doubt that harem shenanigans will likely pop back up now and then, but now that the protag has settled down with a girl, it's probably going to less hilariously treated and more awkward conversations.

Hence the joke, because awkward conversations aren't funny... they're just awkward.

Yyyyeah, I have no idea why he thought this was a good idea. If it weren't for the power ring, that'd be a very good way to get stabbed.

He'd offer the guy an alternate way to accomplish his goals.

I mean, in general, yes, he does that, but how many other ways can there possibly be to engineer a bloodline of mystical might? It's not like Paul knows how to grant mystic mojo to people in any significant capacity, or else he'd be all over that already. Seriously, being able to grant a significant portion of the human race even a 25% increase to their normal magical reserves is definitely better than Danner formula, and potentially better than Garrick if it's at least a 50% increase. So breeding is probably already part of the optimal path to that particular outcome, though it could probably be improved upon from the standpoint of efficiency (I'd expect that trying to breed with magically powerful Atlanteans would work better by and large, since they have the culture and the training in magic that the surface just doesn't have yet). And if Doctor Whatshisface just wanted sex with a lot of women, he's lived long enough that he knows full well that he doesn't have to manipulate people into it and just doesn't care (as mentioned, bribery would work just fine for a fair number of people, or just finding some prostitutes), in which case there really isn't an alternate path to his goals that Paul would be willing to live with and that Doctor Whatshisface would accept.

All this, of course, assuming that Chaoswind was on to something with this whole kerfuffle, which I'm not convinced of.

I like that Zoat actually somewhat mirrored the relationship with his real parents. 8 years of dating between them before marriage, and Paul spent a relatively long time building on the relationship between himself and Jade before jumping in. Compared to Grayven diving in headlong at the first opportunity just as Paula and Crock Jr did with similar results. Thought it was a nice bit of symmetry. Now the question is whether or not this becomes a fling or truly is the OTP.

Stuff here because apparently spoilering your entire post isn't allowed. :<

Cheshire 1 nuked a country and killed most of its inhabitants

I did not actually know this. But since my post was a hypothetical of a hypothetical (if hypothetically Chaoswind was correct about even half of what he accused the Doctor of doing, and if hypothetically that history had carried over to Earth-16-Z), I'm not too fussed about it at this point. I'm the one who brought up Not Necessarily on Earth-16 earlier, remember?

for that matter, wouldn't it be increasing the potential power OF the Danner and Garrick formulas? More magic to feed the alchemy
