Those of you voting for a Sword regiment... I get it, but please consider voting for one where our Witch Sight will be helpful (3rd or, better, 4th), rather than the divison in reserve.

This actually lets us make use of our greatest asset our speed.
You'd think that, but we ride seven times as fast as a normal horse. Being attached to any regiment will have us moving at a comparative crawl when referenced against what we can do, whether infantry or cavalry.

Edit: And I'm not sure how smoothly our greatsword bodyguards would make the transition to horsemen; my impression is that they usually fight on foot. @BoneyM, comments on how that would work out if we attached to a cavalry unit?

Your bodyguard will remain with the body of the army if you go off cavalry-ing.

Keep in mind: Shadowsteed does not move flat-out seven times faster than a normal horse. Shadowsteed and a regular warhorse have the same gallop speed. The difference is that Shadowsteed does not tire, whereas even the best-trained horse tires after a few miles, and that Shadowsteed can ride over broken terrain safely where a regular horse will have to slow or risk breaking a leg.

Right. Well, that being made clear... I'm not thrilled with the idea of leaving our bodyguards behind, which leaves out the cavalry options. It seems like the 3rd is going to run into something that Asarnil will be nuking while Gustav blows it to shit with cannons anyway, so while there might be an investigation to be done there they're likely to come to the conclusion "dragonfire will solve this problem" and be right to do so, whether we're there with sage wizardly advice or not. Which leaves the 4th; low intensity combat plus a little bit of poking at things to solve a mystery, with Van Hal if we're lucky. That seems like it'll ease us into the war in a way that plays to our strengths.

what can i say i like these guys

Fourth Division because my goggles demands it. Sword Regiment because swords rule, spears drool!

...I could have sworn this said 'specify which'. Though it might be better to have it be an informed decision. Okay, minivote time.
Honestly I was expecting her to use her epic travel speed to put in a bit of time everywhere. With some luck we could get a reputation for 'being wherever the fighting is thickest'.

If we are stuck with one…

May as well stick with the guys tasked with the weird stuff.

@BoneyM so what happens if we actually manage to clean up all the way to Abelhelm's ancestral castle? will he try to rebuild it as part of his familial atonement?

@BoneyM How come each city/county fields only one type of soldier? Do, say, Marburg and Hornau not train any front lines of note?

Honestly it might be a better idea to chisel away the foundations and spread the gravel and cobble out to the four winds to be trampled as road material. If you want to build something, build it a couple miles to the left with entirely imported stone.

Changing, as this seems to be the leading candidate for at least getting us in the 4th with our bodyguards.
