Naru is correct. I just didn't want to try to specify shade of red and went with the general term. And, of course, the fact that Lasette has no way of knowing who this is and thus is only using generalized descriptive terms.

Hmm, I was just guessing at gender. I didn't remember it ever being stated. I did look up the spot where the name was implied, but didn't dig completely through the update.

Really reaching back into the cobweb filled corners of my memory, but I seem to recall most youma being female.

Then again, when dealing with creatures that are (arguably) mostly made of magic I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be all that wrong for the answer to the question of "Male or Female?" is The Mathematicians Answer.

@Razzocnor
Kind of a nitpick, but here ya go.
Confirmed masculine so likely male.
Or this particular youma could just have a really deep voice. :p

But you're not wrong for pointing this out.

On the other hand, we're almost sure the youma's actual name is Lasette, which is feminine-styled.

Answer could be "yes" or "whatever" or "no more biological sex than a Ken/Barbie doll, but well defined masculine/feminine gender identity"

We do know at least some youma aren't aromantic, at least in their own weird high-on-magical-cocaine way, because, to quote Lunaryon:

"I mean, let's be frank here. Kicking the shit out of someone stronger than you is a good way to get laid as a Youma. So there is a non zero chance that this murder attempt may be a less than lethal attempt."

This was part of a discussion of Cendrillion's motivations for attacking Jadeite.

I now find myself tempted to go back and edit such that exactly half the pronouns are reversed as a false compromise/way to confuse everyone.

Monster Mash Part 6 - Round 2 Field 2 - Jupiter, Bloom & Egret, Tuxedo Mask, Poisony, Uzaina
[X][R2F2] Rei finishes off the Uzaina. Makoto keeps trying to get through to Poisony about the whole 'abusive boss' thing, while using Electro-Targeting Interference and physical superiority to lock down Poisony's options for escape.
"And what would you know?" The woman snarls out, but there is something different about her voice. She almost sounds like she is about to start crying. "You... You're just... just..." Jupiter takes a step closer to the woman, some part of the girl wanting to reach out and offer... something. Sure, she might have attacked them, but it almost sounds like she doesn't have a choice.

"FOOLS!" Poisony cackles out, any sounds of near crying completely gone now, as her hands snap out and unleash a wave of shimmering shadows that slam into Jupiter like a physical weight. The demon's eyes flash with a dark energy, and Sailor Jupiter can feel something run up against the side of her mind, tendrils, but the girl isn't entirely sure of what.

Not that it matters, since before Jupiter has a chance to say anything, there is a blur of red, and Sailor Mars slams into the woman's side, knocking her off her feet. Poisony rolls over and over again. Once she manages to right herself, the girl looks up at the gathered warriors and blanches. However, before Poisony can say anything, there is a sound that the woman has heard more than once before. The twin thumps of boots landing on rootop stone. Even without looking back, the warrior of the Doketsu Zone scowls, realizing what that means.

Cure White and Cure Black have arrived to deal with their General.

Poisony's head snaps back and forth, doing everything she can to keep both groups of enemies in her line of sight as much as possible. With that in mind, the woman slowly slinks back, each step careful as she tries to figure out a way to no longer be as flanked as she is.

"Poisony!" Cure White calls out, "Just give up!"

"Give up?" The woman lets loose a long, sharp laugh as she shakes her head. "No. Not when things are finally starting to go my way."

That is a very interesting sentence for the woman to say, given the way that she paled upon coming face to face with just the two Senshi and Tuxedo Mask, let alone the addition of the Pretty Cure. At the same time, Sailor Jupiter wonders if Poisony's sudden confidence has something to do with the failed attack against her mind. Then again, given the way that the woman stands, and the way that she continues to try and find a position in which she can see all of her opponents at once, she may just be bluffing. "Uzaina! You were ordered to protect me!" The girl calls out, and while Jupiter continues to keep her eyes locked on the woman, both Sailor Mars and the Pretty Cure's eyes flick to the growling creature which stands to one side of the ongoing battle. "Go wreck havoc!" For a long moment the creature stands there, it's normally angry looking face seems confused for a moment.

"Uzaina!" The creature roars, before rushing towards the stalled battle. It seems that at the very least, the creature is not bound to obey Poisony.

"No!" The woman snarls out, "You fool! That is not what I commanded! Go wreck havoc among the innocent!" The beast isn't listening to what the woman says however, and Sailor Mars peels off from the first group to dash towards the beast, flames licking at the edges of her hands as she tosses free a searing hot charm slip. The paper hits like a brick, slowing the beast down to a stumble. With a roar of confusion, the monster swats at the flames, the heavy metal of it's body easy crushing the flames.

Regaining it's footing, the beast continues to press forward, swiping one large hand at Sailor Mars before continuing straight on by. For a moment, it almost looks like the creature is aiming towards Poisony, before it gives a mighty leap, soaring up into the air with the sound of shattering concrete beneath it's feet.

"BLACK LIGHTNING!" Cure Black calls out, one hand snapping up to the sky, and calling down a bolt of obsidian colored electricity. The Uzaina only barely manages to twist in such a way to avoid the bolt, and it soars across the street, passing over where Sailor Mercury is helping with the last of the evacuation. the beast slams into the side of the theater that Sailor Moon and Sei stand atop, and with a mighty crack a section of the fall shatters. Cure Black and Cure White's eyes go wide. There, beneath the falling stone is a man holding a microphone, and a woman carrying one of those big TV cameras.

There isn't time to plan or the time to stratagize. No. There are people in danger, and that is all that matters. As one, the two Pretty Cure explode into action. Crossing the distance in the span of a blink of an eye, Cure White whirls around, lashing out with a sharp kick that slams into the falling stone like a clap of thunder.

The falling stone shatters, turning into more dust than anything else as Cure Black lands next to the two. "You've got to get out of here!" The girl says, pointing away from any and all of the fighting going on.

"Wha-Who?" The Journalist starts to ask, eyes wide and confused as he looks down at the shorter girl in front of him, before his head snaps back around to the white clothed girl who just saved his life.

"I am Cure Black." Black says firmly, "We don't have time to talk. It isn't safe here."

High above the cures and civilians, the Uzaina scrambles, hands clawing as it tries to get hold of the edge of the building, but every stone comes loose in it's hands, and with a roar the creature crashes down on all fours just over a dozen feet away from them all. "UZAINA!" The creature roars as it spots the journalist. Before it has a chance to move however, a girl in dark pink drops down from above, her hands splayed out towards the beast.

"SPIRITS OF THE EARTH!" She calls out, and with each word the air around the journalist seems to buzz with energy, tiny motes of shining gold shimmering through the air and rushing towards the girl. As the lights converge on the girl there is a hum of power and a wall of glimmering gold spreads across in front of the two.

Stunned and stupefied, the journalist and camera crew continue to stand there, eyes wide as they continue to film the events happening right in front of them. "A-a-a...a..." The Journalist continues to sputter, no words coming to mind.

Before he manages to actually get control of his thoughts, there is a yell from somewhere up above. "Get back here!" The camera turns, looking up to the skies as a woman in a red skirted Sailor Outfit soars out over the lip of the building, the woman's hands literally on fire.

Slowly, the journalist takes a step back, as does the camera woman, before the man turns to her, "Are you seeing this?" He asks, trying to understand what it is that is going on. "Is that... That's one of the woman who pulled that girl out of the painting." He half-whispers, instincts making sure that the microphone is close enough to pick it out. "But... Who are these other people. Cure Black." He continues, as he looks to the other two.

Sailor Mars slams into the Uzaina at speed, the impact knocking the creature to the ground with such force that it blows all four of it's limbs out from under it. Again and again, Sailor Mar's hands snapping out as a shimmering tag hits the ground near the beast, burning bright with a Buddhist Mantra. "Rin. Pyo." Sailor Mars calls out, her hands snapping through Buddhist mantra in between each ofuda thrown. "Toh, Sha." Around and around the Paper charms land, slowly forming a circle around the demon under her foot. "Kai, Jin." On the other side of the barrier, the Pretty Cure and journalist watch in awe as the air begins to waver from the sheer heat being put out. "Retsu. Zai. ZEN!" Even the least spiritually aware of the onlookers can feel the pulse of energy flow through the air as the purification ritual explodes into action.

But... as the heat begins to fade, Sailor Mars finds herself standing on a glowing red, half melted Uzaina, the creature giving a weak gurgling grumble of it's name through it's half molten face as it tries to pull itself back to it's feet. "How...?" Sailor Mars asks, eyes wide and confused as the creature beneath her feet hasn't been purified. "That should have purified any demon."

"Oh." Cure Bloom says, not quite laughing, and clearly embarrassed. "That's cause it's not a demon."

"What." The Sailor Senshi asks, looking to the wall of light that Bloom had formed. Before the girl has a chance to answer, Sailor Egret lands next to Bloom, the two girls looking at the half-melted Uzaina.

"We can handle cleansing the Uzaina from here." Egret says, giving a quick curtsy to Mars. The girl is quiet for a moment, before she stomps down on the beast one more time, and leaps to the side.

"Alright." The girl says, nodding. "Show me what you can do."

At this point it is clear that both groups of magical girls had completely forgotten the watching journalist, and more importantly had forgotten the fact that all of this was being broadcast live to the world.

Cure Bloom and Cure Egret clasp hands, before Cure Bloom calls out, "O hear me, Spirits of the Land!" All around them, every plant and stone began to shimmer, summoning forth more of the glowing golden lights, and as a few pass by the camera, it is clear to see that each of the things have a small face on them.

"O hear me, spirits of the Skies!" Cure Egret calls out at the same time, the girl holding one hand up and the skies shine bright, and a stream of shimmering silver motes fly down towards her. "Come together with our power," The girl continues, before Bloom picks up the next line.

"And we shall unleash the power of a miracle!" The two magical girls bring together the two hands that had been gathering magical energy, placing them side by side as magical energy flows through the symbols on the back of their hands. "PRETTY CURE! TWIN STREAM SPLASH!"

" Whirling their hands around, the energy flows like water through the air, forming into a pool that shines silver and gold, before the two girls slam their hands forward, and a beam of powerful magic shoots forth, slamming into the Uzaina.

The creature gives a final roar of "UZAINA!" Before it's body shapes and warps back into the bicycle that it had been transformed from, as the beast itself splinters into hundreds of tiny shimmering creatures. Sailor Mars watches, fascinated as the creatures fly free, diving into whatever nearest bit of metal that they can find. The moment that they do, all rust flakes away, scratches and dents clear away, and every bit of damage fades.

That... That wasn't a demon. Which explains why the Buddhist mantras designed to banish evil didn't work on the creature. It was simply the wrong tool for the job. The spell that the two cures had used functioned through entirely different means, and while calling on the power of the elemental energy of the world around her is not something that Sailor Mars thinks she can do, the actual purpose of the spell...

That is something that Mars thinks she could achieve. The Twin Splash Star does not banish evil, but instead it is more like a filter. Like running water over a muddied stone to wash away that which was different.

The girl knows that her metaphor is lacking, but it is the best that she can think of use for it. Both mud and stone are earth, but they are different kinds of earth, and so it pulls away that which is distinctly different. Yet of the same. What matters is that while Mars cannot do that now, she has a feeling that she'll be able to figure it out with a bit of practice.

Back up on the rooftop...

"Would." thwack. "You." Bonk. "Stop." Smack. "Headbutting me." Sailor Jupiter growls out, and in between each of her words, Poisony slams the back of her head into Jupiter's face again and again. all together, the girl is slower and weaker than Jupiter, which made capturing the girl easy enough.

However, now that she has been captured, Poisony is doing her very best to be more annoying than it is worth to keep hold of the woman. Unfortunately for Poisony, Makoto grew up in Nerima, which means that she has developed a very long fuse.

So she can do this all day.

Standing across from Poisony however, is Tuxedo Mask, the man's hands slipping in and out of each of the woman's pockets as she searches for the Orange Rainbow Gem that the girl should be holding.

Yet, even as he does so, he has the distinct feeling that this is a lost cause. He cannot sense the gem on her, and unless she is somehow hiding it... She doesn't have it with her. Which all together is strange. Why would she come here without the gem?

There is something wrong here, but Tuxedo Mask isn't sure what it is. Add on top of that the fact that Poisony seemed more amused with all of this, particularly the fact that she is trapped, and both Jupiter and Tuxedo Mask are beginning to think that there is something very wrong here. All of a sudden, the woman goes limp, a smile stretching across her face.

"The Uzaina is destroyed." She says simply, "And Kintoleski's guard is down. Oh, Zakenna!" She whispers, "Get him."

"The Uzaina is destroyed." She says simply, "And Kintoleski's guard is down. Oh, Zakenna!" She whispers, "Get him."
There are two (2) things I do not get.

1) I don't get what she is getting out of it. Is there anything in his PreCure series that someone can gain by killing him, and is it on a first-come-first-serve basis?

2) Where is she getting another Zakenna from? The first one was eaten by Sei back in the first round by rolling 3 degrees crit over double the Zakenna result.

Did she summon it before ever showing herself in the area?

Wait... I thought we merked Zakenna earlier? I guess this is Zakenna #2?

Yep, re-reading, Zakenna got ate by Naru. So this must be a second Zakenna... I fail to see how attempting to assassinate one of the strongest fighters on the field will help her situation in any way though. Jupiter kinda has her in a headlock still. So even if she does manage to get Kintoki to drop his McGuffin, she still has to break out of the JUPITER SPARKLING FULL NELSON OF LOVE before Tux Mex just walks over and picks up the McGuffin he's collecting.

I'd like to point out that I called it:
Ok, I'm having a hard time figuring out why people are taking Poisony's words at face value, when it seems rather obvious that she was trying to lure Makoto in to mind-control her.
Bad idea to take things at face value with her. Poor Kintoleski.
And it's possible that the ??? was the other Zakenna, but I don't think we'd have rolled for it if so. Still, it is possible.
