Did his mother and father each piss off a cabal of sorcerers and/or witches and they hit them with the nastiest magic they could think of?
Have you seen his father? Have you seen Happosai? His mom, most likely, haven't pissed anyone in that direction, but fat panda and perverted goblin definitely worked overtime on pissing as many people as they can and escaping consequences.

Silly observations...

So I found out about this medieval Japanese axe, and I cannot help but think that it fits someone in our extended quest continuity. I don't know who, but someone.

That's hilarious. Especially if it's true.

Say, PreCure loremasters, was there ever a time travel aspect to PreCures? Does anyone think we could meet some in the past?

I would guess it's a Venus thing, if any o f the Senshi. Or maybe one of the PreCures.

14th century is a couple hundred years before when the Inuyasha crew are active, but they might be able to get their hands on one if they tried hard enough.

Only one I'm aware of is Hugtto, which is a Black Moon-style "Enemies and an ally came back from the future" deal. You'd need some sort of magical girl to be active in Inuyasha's time.

How one Deals with Loss Part Finale - The aftermath's Aftermath
I'm... not entirely happy with the ending of this update, but I just could not manage to write the Nerima Police. So Whatever. I'll skim over it and get the meat of the vote up.

[X][Police] 'Leave' and have Makoto and Rei around to see what happens
However, that does raise an interesting question. One that Rei herself brings up as the two Senshi watch Ranma and Ukyo hurry off. "...Should we..." Rei starts, "You know, stick around? Answer questions?"

Sailor Jupiter opens her mouth, before closing it. On the one hand, most of the superheroes in the comics don't stick around and answer questions of the police, so that might be a good reason not to, but at the same time... A lot of superheroes, like Spiderman don't have the best relationships with the police, so running away might send a bad message?

Further, Makoto knows that Usagi is planning on meeting with the Senshi's sponsor on Friday so...

Makoto's first instinct is to stay, to speak with the police and make sure that the authorities know what actually happened and why, to avoid them jumping to any kind of negative conclusions about what happened. However, even before the brunette finishes the first thought, a second thought manages to push through, pointing out that Usagi already has some kind of plan - She's been working hard on writing out some kind of outline for what to tell the police, and Makoto isn't going to mess with that until she has an idea of what Usagi already has planned.

So, after a moment more of thought, Jupiter shakes her head. Mars has an odd look on her face, slightly unhappy with the decision, but clearly curious about the reasoning. Motioning up towards the roof with a tilt of her head, Makoto mouths 'Not in the open' and Rei nods.

It takes Rei a single powerful leap to shoot past the two stories and up to the roof of the apartment building, even as Makoto simply floats up, landing on the roof without a sound. Makoto breathes in, fingering the trigger to her transformation, but the moment before she does, there is a twinge in the back of her mind. The hairs on the back of her neck rise - She and Rei and being watched.

Jupiter whirls around, her eyes snapping back and forth, trying to find the source of the sensation, but there is no one else here on the roof with the two senshi.

Rei blinks when Sailor Jupiter turns on her heels, the brown haired senshi clearly looking for something, but it only takes a moment before Rei starts to realize what it could be.

The transformed Miko can feel the curses wrapped around Shampoo, but the girl isn't anywhere on the roof. At least not obviously. Tracking the sensations of the curse, Rei spots the knotted up ball of Shampoo's clothing that Ukyo had thrown up onto the roof. Taking a quick few steps to cross the roof, Rei picks up the clothing, and untangles it. Out of the mess of clothing drops a small white cat that hisses at the girl for a moment.

Kneeling to look down at the cat, Rei can tell that she is indeed looking at Shampoo. She's never seen anything like this before. A curse that alters the shape and form of a person? Well, sure, she's seen smaller curses that can do things like that. Making people grow warts, or get wrinkles, sure. But those can barely be considered changes compared to turning a human into a cat. Shampoo the cat lashes out, claws sliding off of Rei's face, and the girl can't help but giggle at the soft sensation. "Hey." the girl says firmly, "You stop that, I'm trying to help you here."

The cat snorts, but as Rei reaches out to grab the cat by the scuff of the neck, Shampoo slides back, a soft hiss slipping through her catlike lips. Then, in a movement that almost manages to baffle Rei, the cat leaps, backflipping and landing not on the railing of the roof, but against the far side. The cat then kicks off the railing, soaring across the courtyard and into a tree near the sidewalk.

Rei stares at the cat for a long moment, part of her wanting to hunt down the cat and try to see if she can do anything about the curse, but landing in the tree is far from where the small cat stops, instead scuttling down the tree, and shooting away down the street. It is very much the kind of movement that one makes when they have a destination.

As she looks at the way that the cat moves so naturally, a question pops into Rei's head.

Is Shampoo a girl who turns into a cat, or a cat that turns into a girl?

She supposes that the same question could be asked of Ranma. Which is the real one, the dark haired boy or the redheaded girl. She has to suppress a shiver at the idle thought of something like that happening to her, transforming her into a boy.

Glancing back at Makoto, the girl is staring at the tree that Shampoo leapt over into. "That... just happened? right?" she asks, and Rei chuckles a soft smile on her face.

Rei likes Makoto. The girl is very open with her emotions and thoughts, which is something that Rei deeply appreciates. Still, the girl was of the opinion that they shouldn't speak with the authorities, which is... odd. Not something that she would have thought the girl would do.

Taking another breath, the alarm bells no longer going off in her head, Jupiter allows the magic to loose itself from her form, returning to being the mortal Makoto, instead of the planetary avatar. Following her lead, Rei allows her own magic to fade. "Alright," Makoto says, once they are both back to normal. "Now that we aren't the Senshi, we can go and check out what the police think." She says, "I know Usagi's got some plan for dealing with the police, and I'd rather not interact with them until she's got that set up."

"Ah." Rei understands now, and can't help but nod. A moment of silence... "Okay, so... how are we supposed to get down off the roof?" Rei asks, and Makoto can't help but laugh. Standing next to the edge of the roof, the girl holds out a hand to Rei.

There is something about the whole thing - The light shining down on Makoto's smiling face, the way that the wind blows at the taller girl's hair, the gleam of joy in her eyes. All of it combined causes a faint blush to grow on Rei's face, and the shorter girl can only hope that Makoto doesn't notice. Taking her hand, the girl can feel the world... tilt? It is hard to put into words, but she feels like she is standing on a slope. Then, Makoto takes a step over the edge, putting her feet on the wall of the building, standing there completely separate from the pull of gravity. Carefully, the two sneak down the back wall of the apartment, before slipping back into Makoto's apartment, away from the eyes of the public.

Unfortunately, that isn't the end of Makoto's tiring afternoon. Because while she did not go out and fight Chen on her own, the boy wasn't exactly quiet about his motivations, or why he was there. That being to fight the girl, and nearly all of Makoto's neighbors ended up hearing that.

While the police weren't able to arrest the girl or anything of that matter, after learning that Makoto was suspended because of Chen attacking her once before, they did mention that this would be brought up to the school district.

On the one hand, it is clear that they are not happy with what happened here, but there is a strange resignation about the whole thing. As if they expected something along these lines. Even more interestingly, they seemed quietly relieved when Makoto just sighed and accepted the things that they said. As if they were expecting something different from the girl.

It is enough to bring a small frown to her face, as Makoto is more than aware of her own negative reputation, but she never expected it to extend all the way to the police.

Then there is the final tidbit, which... Makoto doesn't really have an emotional reaction to, and if anything that kind of annoys her more than anything.

The police mention that since the event spiraled out to the point of bringing the police in, they are going to have to contact her aunt and uncle. Which... Makoto accepts, primarily because she knows that nothing will come of it. The tall brunette has only ever met her Mother's brother once. Not long after...

After the crash. He didn't have much to say to her then, getting her set up with all the things that she needed to be taken care of, and hasn't said a word to her since.

All together, Makoto finds herself with a thought... A thought that she at first was irritated at, but as the thought starts to bloom...

Would her relatives even care if she disappeared? If Makoto vanished off the face of the world entirely?

It was an idle thought. Except... Sailor Jupiter isn't Makoto.

Rei's grandfather seems to know at least some about what is going on with the Senshi.

Usagi is also supposed to be getting some kind of base set up at the end of the weekend.

Makoto doesn't exactly have anything that she needs to do right now, , given that she is suspended from school.

Now that the thought has been planted, Makoto finds herself thinking over the idea for the rest of the afternoon, and late in the evening, she finds herself coming to a conclusion.

[ ][Mako] Stay
Staying at her apartment as herself for the time being is the simplest option, and it doesn't complicate her future in anyway
[ ][Mako] Stay at Shrine
Abandoning her own life is one thing, one thing that she can't do. However, getting out of Furinkan and Nerima all together is not a bad idea
[ ][Mako] Leave
Ever since she was suspended from school, she hasn't really done.. much of anything that isn't related to being a Senshi. Might as well go the rest of the way until things start to calm down.

Next time!

I'm thinking either Stay or Stay at Shrine. Leave seems premature, though Makoto moving into the base is def. an option. I would like her to have company though, and the Shrine is good for that. Of course, so would the base, at least once everything there is ready.

Yeah, leave might be a bit early for her, even if it would give her more chances to interact with the rest of the group. Assuming we don't want to get more involved in the Nerima hijinks, Stay at Shrine is a good choice.

Lets just leave. There is no reason to stay

Personally, I don't think this is a good idea, especially since this implies that she is considering going all in at being a sailor senshi, and I don't think doing that is exactly healthy.

And with that reasoning, the choice is moving in with Rei's grandpa, or staying where she is...

[X][Mako] Stay at Shrine
I just want to see how Rei's grandfather at Rei inviting another girl over.

For those saying leave, are you also saying should meta-wise ignore all Ranma-related elements in the future, since there would be limited reason to go to Nerima is Makoto isn't there?

I know there are people who think we should avoid all the Nerima mayhem as a distraction to what the Senshi need to do.. but then... what would be the point of this quest having Ranma in it?

Mmm, I mean, Ranma was invited to visit the shrine, so at this point I don't think they're going to disappear from the senshi's orbit completely.
