I honestly haven't felt the need to call in reinforcements, so I don't vote for plans that call them in. We could have told Mercury to come and participate, and we didn't for a reason. That reason's still valid. Ditto the outers. We're handling this-not without pressure, not without a bit of awkwardness. But we're handling it.

Dr. Sakurai was directed to, 'in her copious free time,' find some way of detecting Jewel Seeds before they could cause a rampage, and some way of containing them so that they would not cause a rampage. However, with no leads and no samples of what a Jewel Seed looked like, and with no direct line to the White Meteor to discuss the matter in detail, Dr. Sakurai at first gave up the job as hopeless.

Your statement I quoted was about giving MCAT a means of contacting our communication network. Which they do have. Samui has a communicator. Which she has had for a while and used to call us to ask for our help tonight.

As far as them specifically contacting "White Meteor", Nanoha is in our communicator call network which Samui also has a line to, and the "assume people are doing things that make sense off-screen" logic also points to if MCAT really wanted to get in contact with "White Meteor", then a likely-to-succeed first step would be calling the Sailor Senshi at our corporate HQ and leaving a message at bare minimum, as we are essentially functioning as the organizational hub for Japan's Magical Girls. As far as I'm concerned, MCAT not contacting us/Nanoha about the Jewel Seed in their custody is entirely their own failing for not following through on the options available to them.

It is a bitter regret that the choice was not made to insist that Mercury be present from the beginning regardless.

*sighs* No more consideration can be afforded for letting Mercury and the Outers rest. They need to be called, and one can only hope that the situation can be maintained until they arrive.

In the meanwhile, there are too many problems. One concurs that the aerial reinforcements need to be told to withdraw. They are simply a lower priority than everything else now.

One for the west gate, one for the prison break, one for the Jewel Seed, one for the godbinders. Everything else, including the Empty Faces, unfortunately, will have to be set aside.

We've got enough people to cover everything. We don't need to call in more reinforcements. We probably don't even need to go Godbinder hunting, because I think we're about at the tipping point where the Onogoro commander ought to call his forces back because his assault is culminating and about to get slammed by a couple of Senshi.
 
A generously optimistic view of the situation.

If the choice had been made for Mercury to be present from the start, it may have been different, but as it is, from the beginning, it seems to have been naught but a steady, one-way trip to hell.

Nanoha still has the best answer to the rockets.
Mars has a good chance at countering the Empty Faces of the jailbreak.
Jupiter is flight capable and I didn't want to put Moon on there because of the delay she has to heal.
West needs the most help so it gets Moon. Which just leaves North for Venus where pushing the stalemate into a winning position would probably lead to a general retreat slight all of MCAT being able to concentrate on the West.

I think we are past the point where the main crux of the battle is starting to seriously tip against the IMO with one front totally in a rout and the prison break unlikely to contribute to the wider conflict. The Jewel Seed is an issue but more of a crawling back a side objective than a core thing.

A reasonable assessment.
Somewhat disappointing if true, I had been hoping that 'MCAT is incompetent at communication' was a past-tense thing.

Do wonder if the fault was with Samui not telling her subordinators about her comm, Dr. Sakurai's fault for just assuming they can't get hold of White Meteor or some random phone answerer's fault for not asking / writing down whether or not White Meteor is on the network.

Counterpoint: Moon's teleportation lets her cover distance vastly more quickly that Jupiter.
Heck we don't even know if Jupiter can fly (or more accurately fall sideways) faster than Venus can roof-hop.
 
My opinion is we really don't want Agent Whisper running away with what is essentially a Thaumaturgical Demon Core on the cusp of supercriticality. We do not need an Empty Quiver incident turning into a Nucflash here. Nanoha needs to secure that thing ASAP.

Get those helos on the line and tell them to smoke 'em if they got 'em and get out of the AO, because TCM cannot remain on station. Maybe Raising can help Nanoha weave something onto those birds to keep the targeting spell off, but I wouldn't put money on it being very fast if it's possible.

Nanoha is the best equipped to handle a Jewel Seed and between her speed and range it'll take her negligible time to get there. We do not need Venus to keep moving further away from everything that's happening right now.

On an unrelated note, what the fuck is Jadeite doing? The main reason Mars is locked down is that we don't want to risk an Empty Face getting into the command center, but he'd be a perfectly adequate body guard. If he were there we could drop Mars on something.

Huh, just noticed that since investigating the godbinders is a covered action my second plan doesn't need to drop evasion, only Venus and Jupiter are exposed there.

Ok! Let's...work out the basics before we start aruging over the specific eh?

Let's seperate our issues into two categories. Needs to be done, and would be good to do. The difference is mostly in priority.

Needs to be done.
  • West Gate is on the verge of collaspe.
  • Prision break needs to be stopped.
Would be good to do.
  • Hunt binders so we can go all out. Low priority due to the overall situation since it doesn't effect the immidate situation.
  • Deal with missles to stop enemy artillery, and keep air support. Air support proved devasting last round so it'd be very good to have.
  • Reaquire Jewel Seed. Low priority due to mostly causing issues for the enemy if it succeeds.

Extra cavets being that 3 of the 5 priorities are exposed so only two can be handled unless Nanoha helps with one of them. The other two priorities do not require Nanoha's aid even if it would be useful.

With our current assets we can handle 4 of our prioritys (without unnecessiarily exposing ourselfves to binding) if we put Nanoha on Rockets, and Moon on Jewel. Allowing us to send Jupiter and Venus to our Needs.

Mars could handle five if we are willing to leave the HQ exposed.

I mean, the rockets are easily the lowest priority and Simon keeps reminding us that the characters are allowed to just tell the choppers to back off, so I don't see why we need to keep Nanoha there when there's a Jewel Seed flying off. Jewel Seed might even beat out the godbinders since Onogoro actually getting away with it could be bad.

The Jewel seed is a big risk to leave alone. It's unlikely to affect the battle, but it getting away has a high chance of either setting off another big monster attack later, or Onogoro trying to use it against us, and those things are dangerous, as the mess with the tree showed. Sure, maybe they seal it and that's that, or maybe Fate interrupt, but I'm not sure we should take the risk of those idiots getting their hand on a magical WMD.

*Looks at what happened to East wave 3* ...Low priority? They wiped out the 3rd wave in the east all on their own with a single roll. Then proceeded to attack the other two fronts with impunity.

Even half of that would help the situation a lot.

Sides it'd be better to assign one of our more mobile senshi to the Seed to take advantage of Nanoha's buff to our action economy. Pretty sure Moon can handle it just as well, and if something goes wrong it'll go wrong next to the enemy.

Valid concern. Personally I think we could probably let them have it since it's more likely to cause them problems than anything. To say nothing of the fact they're actually treating the thing like a unstable WMD, but I do understand which why I think Moon should handle it.

If we don't do that we can send Moon after the binders.

The Jewel Seed is not unstable-but-currently-passive. It is in the process of activating, right now. This is why Raising Heart is able to detect it, when she couldn't a few minutes ago. There's no option to just let Onogoro have it, even if we were okay with that, because it's blowing up right now. Not sending Nanoha after it also seems fundamentally misguided, because no one other than Nanoha has a good way to contain an active Jewel Seed.
