@Lunaryon

I'm having trouble figuring out the boundary between what magic the girls can use transformed versus un-transformed. Is it as simple as "once they can cast un-transformed, they can use any ability that doesn't explicitly rely on some piece of equipment they only have in their transformed state, at full effect?"

Is the magic more effective when they're transformed? Because Usagi's using what are, for now, some of her highest-end abilities untransformed lately.

Does the transformation only provide bio-enhancement and increase Prowess?
Okay,, I have awakened from sleep.

So the answer comes down to 'Usagi is a cheaty cheater who cheats'

While Usagi's spells are notibly weaker when not trasnformed, she can still cast just about anything she can cast when transformed. However, for Ami and Makoto they are pretty limited in the spells that they can cast when not transformed, as they are likely to put out so much power that they hurt themselves.

What about Minako? Is Sailor V still just spamming Crescent Beam, or does she also have other spells? I heard that in the manga she also used her Compact as a focus for a purifying attack, but, well, I've never read it.

Interesting...
Odds that is because she figured them out herself? Considering her first spell was made on the spot using tools not quite meant for the spell...

*facepalm*. We just teleported near Jedite, likely within his range to sense magic passively, useing a powerful spell intent for interplanetary movement. There went our chance for surprise, possibly.

Would this temple exist at all? Would the Shinto religion exist at all?
Did the silver millennium even HAVE religions?

Well, aside from believing in the royal family and/or the Silver Crystal, which I'm not sure if they count.

"You must really want to impress this girl," He says, eyes staying on you. "Normally you can't wait to get rid of the boys who vie for your attention."

"What does that have to do with anything?" Rei asks, before she starts to realize that he isn't looking at her, but behind her. The girl spins around, face red and eyes burning with a righteous anger, "Wha-" She starts to yell, before she realizes who it is she is about to yell at.

The words die in Rei's mouth, even as her face goes even redder. There is a long moment of silence, with nothing being said by either side. Rei stares at Usagi , and Usagi looks at Rei.

Rei stares at Usagi, and Usagi looks at Rei.

Rei stares, Usagi blinks.
We don't blame you, Rei. Usagi is quite the catch after all, as are you :p .

You'll have to face a pretty fierce competition though. Or get used to/accept the poly ending.

By the way, yes, I think this funny grandpa low-key- accused her of being a lesbian/ interested in us :V

"Well of course I know him," Rei's grandfather says, "He's me." Next to him, Rei rolls her eyes, groaning.

"Really Grandfather?"
It SOUNDED familiar, but I had to search to find where was this quote from. It doesn't help that I only watched the movie in italian.

"I can feel the spiritual power flowing off of you, much the same as it does my Granddaughter. You should come and train under the temple." The man offers, "It is a waste of your gift not to train it as a Miko."
eh, maybe Rei can teach us a few tricks later on, but I don't think we really have the time to actually REALLY become a Miko.

For her to have magic... Well, that in and of itself isn't completely surprising. After all, there is the Magic shop, and the Dark Kingdom, and the Pretty Cures, and the other potential pretty cures and whoever they were fighting and the Oblivion and the magical government...
And SOMEHOW you completely forget to mention the possibility of other possible senshi... Usagi, you disappoint me!

"You aren't like the others," He says, "I approve."

And, having said that... Tomomomichi turns on his heel, walking away from the blonde while whistling a catchy tune.

What.
"What?" Usagi asks the world, but the world doesn't have an answer for her.
Okay, he approves. Now we just need to decide the date of the marriage.

Wait, what do you mean that's not what he approved of?!

Well, in Crystal (and I imagine the manga) she mostly uses a compact boomerang attack and her love-me chain.

Still, by logic, she's been a senshi for close to a year by now. She SHOULD have a few more tricks available by now!

On the other hand, she's not Ami (with her uber-bonuses to all things magic) or Usagi (who cheats), so... who knows.

Why wouldn't it count? Shinto itself divinifies the emperor of Japan, after all.
well, religions are usually about faith in unproved things. The Silver Crystal is very much a REAL thing, with PROVED godly powers (if limited by the user).

I was referring to the Sailor V manga. IIRC, the Sailor Love Me Chain appeared after she switched to the Sailor Venus moniker in the Sailor Moon manga.
....Sailor V Kick? :p

Well, yes.

In fact, the Princess of Mars, (Tyr), was the Head Priestess of the Silver Millennium religion, which had something to do with the whole fire reading thing.

And that is where Usagi's brain wibble is coming from at the moment. Rei being a priestess, but not that priestess is causing the cognitive dissonance that is keeping her from realizing what she's already figured out.

If I remember its usage right it melted some metal stuff, but didn't hurt the hostages, so V can apparently control how acidic the acid atmosphere it produces is.

I had hypothesized, though I don't think I mentioned it, that the answer might come down to "Usagi has bits of Princess Serenity overlay that either make it physically easier/safer for her to channel that magic, or cause her to subconsciously know how to channel that magic, in her untransformed state."

That, or her magic being so focused around healing and purification may mean that it's just... safe by default in a way that elemental ice or lightning-themed magic is not. Luna alluded to this when we almost had a mana-air explosion in Makoto's apartment the other day.

To be fair, Crescent Beam is very, very good at what it does.

Honestly, the latter fits with the problem Ami had when she tried...
Ami can feel the energy flow in eddies and whorls, and chills run down the girl's arms as parts of her magic begin to slip from her control. It is now that Ami begins to realize that this may have been a terrible mistake. Closer and closer to her hands, the colder the girl's body becomes. Ami's hands begin to burn from the cold, even as a small cloud of mist begins to waft off the whole of the girl's arms.

The blue haired girl does everything she can to keep herself from screaming out - She is in control of the spell, she can fix this. She can fix this. But the pain builds and builds and builds, until Ami drops down to her knees, a sharp cry of pain escaping her lips. The cry breaks the girl's focus, her control over her magic lapses, and the spell collapses, the mist fading away to nothingness.
Ami had problems cause, well...

Don't forget 'how hot the metal-metlingly hot atmosphere is', 'how poisonous the poisonous atmosphere is', and 'with how much force the crushingly superpressurized atmosphere explosively decompresses'. Venus weather is unpleasant.
On the other hand, it has neat things like snow composed of lead ore, apparently.
