You know, with the attention gain we got from that roll, we should be hitting attention 2 this turn, right? I'm pretty sure that's what the DK hit that ended up with them on the news.
Are we going to see a news report about us this turn?
Good thing we got a sponsor to help with PR. We are going to need it.
That makes me wonder. Are Phobos and Deimos going to be crows like in the anime or crow- people from the planet Coronis, and holders of the Mars Crystal like in the manga?
If there were any words that Luna would have never expected to fall from Usagi's lips, then it would be the exact words that the girl met her with after returning from the Talent Show. "So I got us a corporate sponsor, and I... kind of forgot to tell you about it."
...What.
"...What." Really, there aren't any other words that can sum up the whole of the situation that the cat has found herself in. Well, there are a few others. "How? WHY?"
Luna spends a decent amount of time this week going through the stash of magical artifacts and tools that she and Artemis had with their Cryo Pods, trying to see if there was anything that would be worth bringing forth to the Senshi.
Much of what the cat has isn't particularly useful - At least not at this point.
First is an old, outdated Starmap that not only shows the location of the Sol System, but the notable polities nearby.
Then there is an old magical training tool for children. The tool looks like a clear sphere, with handprints on each side. Inside of the sphere is a cube made of ten individual parts. By placing your hands on the handprints and channeling magical energy through your fingers, you are able to move the pieces, which float inside completely unaffected by gravity or their surroundings.
The goal is to take apart and put the cube back together as fast as possible.
There is also a magical signet stamp. A simple enough tool, you press it against just about anything, and pour your magic into the object, and it will mark the object with a magical crest that is dependent on the user's soul, making it impossible to fake a signature.
Finally, of the less useful objects, there are nearly sixty of the same strange magical stones that Usagi and the others found in the pocket dimension at the Cinderella Caravan. The one that repeatedly shocked by Ami and Usagi herself.
Luna can't quite remember what they are for, but... seeing them all here, gathered with everything else tickles the back of Luna's mind... She still can't remember what they are though.
However, that is just the stuff that is less useful, there are a handful of items that are worth noting individually.
The first is a package of Emergency Beacons, twenty four count. Luna remembers that these beacons were sold down in the Earth Kingdom, and that when activated, you snap the beacon in half and it would release a magical signal that could be very easily picked up by just about any magical device designed to find them. The cat can remember more than once where... Where Usagi's past life would pay a servant to go and set one off in another part of the castle in order to distract the guards so that she could escape and go off to the Earth Kingdom.
In particular, Luna knows that these worked because they would alert the Mercury Computer as well.
The second is another set of beacons, they look similar to the Emergency beacons simply writ large, but the usage was very different. They were Nav beacons, which were admittedly designed for Interstellar use. Activating one of these three foot long crystal pillars would cause it to give off a constant magical signal that could easily be detected and tracked.
And finally, at least for this attempt to organize the trove of artifacts is a Lunar Royal Guard Helmet. The very cutting edge of protective magitechnologies. The solar system's most advanced materials went into it's construction, along with a quantum interlocking system with the rest of the armor in order to find whatever pieces may be missing, and a full on computer suite that assists with aim, has navigational technologies, and the armor was even capable of enhancing the strength and durability of the wielder.
@Lunaryon , it sounds as if Luna isn't finished sorting the artifacts. Is that correct?
Well, no easy unlock of end-season artifacts here, alas. The beacons are of interestingly limited utility for now but we should remember we have them. The problem is that the enemy may well be better able to track them than we are.
The training tool could be immediately handy for Naru.
The helmet is very interesting but will probably take several actions to (eventually) track down the rest of the armor (if it hasn't been destroyed). Not something we can afford to do right now on our action economy.
Naru spends a notable amount of time this week either at Ami or Usagi's, a blindfold over her eyes as the Three Senshi move around the girl, channeling small amounts of magic through their bodies in order to try and help Naru learn to detect and differentiate between different magical signatures. Unfortunately, it seems that this experiment might have been a little too complex for Naru.
On the one hand, the girl seems to be getting closer and closer to being able to detect magic on her own, but even the few times that she manages to feel something, she hasn't been able to tell who was causing it.
Well, being able to detect anything is an improvement, but yes.
For you see, the girl scans the Bracelets with the Mercury Supercomputer, and she does receive information.
'Thunder Guardian Bracelets, Belongs to Princess Jupiter. Extremely Tacky, wish she wouldn't wear them.'
That is the single bit of information that the computer is willing to put forward. An Anecdote from Ami's past life, and one that doesn't help her discover what is wrong with the device in any way.
Usagi looks down at the little pen in her hands, before idly twirling the magical super tool with a level of grace and ease that would be surprising, even to Usagi, if she hadn't been doing this exact same motion for as long as she's had hands.
And, apparently given how right it feels to do this with the pen as well, every part of her almost at peace as she does, then she may have been doing it for a lot longer than Usagi herself has been alive.
That strangely morbid thought put to the side, Usagi looks across the room, smiling at each of her friends. Naru, Ami, Makoto, and Luna are all at Usagi's house today, in order to see just what this tool is capable of doing.
There is all of one problem.
"I... I can't think of anything to transform into!"
There is a smattering of laughter, as her friends shake their heads. It's true though, this pen is supposed to be able to transform Usagi into anything that she can imagine.
"Ummm..." The girl says, "Uhh... Transform me into the Moon Princess!" Usagi says, holding the pen over her head. There is a blinding flash of light...
To be continued in 'Transformation Troubles'
Well, I think I have improved on the scene now that I have had a bit more time, so hopefully it will be even more sailor moony...
Also managed to write out an actual opening to Naru's scene instead of it just being a 'To be expanded on here' thing.
Vaguely related, I am slightly disappointed that my favorite of her random encounters (#8) wasn't the one rolled, but those two will show up eventually.
Vaguely related, I am slightly disappointed that my favorite of her random encounters (#8) wasn't the one rolled, but those two will show up eventually.
When I learned that my best friend was actually a magical superhero, I had expected there to be some changes, and I think I've been adapting pretty well. Learning to cast spells, going to a magic thrift store, helping evacuate a crowd of panicking people; I've been happy to help and be helpful.
What I wasn't prepared for was the strange and bizarre people who would just FIND me. Like, am I attuned to the otherwordly now? Are people able to look at me now and say, "There's a girl who needs to meet an alien space princess today"? I suppose being Usagi's "Chancellor" means that I'm technically responsible for many "first contacts" that her group will have, but I was more viewing it as an honorary position. I guess that the new company she's forming might mean that some of the magic community will come out of the woodwork to say hello. Well, got to put on a brave face, I suppose.

"How? WHY?"
Usagi's eyes dart to the door, as the girl's shoulder's hunch in embarrassment. "I... You know when we went to the Cinderella Caravan headquarters yesterday?" She asks, "After we managed to defeat the demon, we ended up running into the company's... owner? I think technically the company belongs to her father, but..." Luna isn't even sure what to think of what Usagi is saying, and the girl isn't even done speaking yet. "Anyways, the important part is that she wanted to thank us for helping save her and her company."
"And the means that she wants to help is...?" Luna prompts, her temper kept at bay by a feeling that she isn't quite sure how to express.
"She has resources and connections," Usagi says, "Means for us to be able to contact the Police and other organizations on more equal footing." The girl says, "She's already spoken about giving us money that we can use to acquire things that we need for Senshi work, and some kind of base that we can work out of."
"I see..." Luna starts to say, but Usagi isn't quite done yet either.
"I haven't had the chance to talk to her about it yet," Usagi admits, "But one of the other things that I was thinking that we need to look into is making a... A thing. Where we save up money in order to help fix the stuff that we break when fighing the Youma."
Luna is quiet for a moment, before she slowly nods to herself. "I... A part of me wants to be angry." Luna admits, but there is a smile on her face. "But at the same time, given what I finally managed to remember... I guess it makes sense."
"What you remembered?" Usagi asks, her head tilting.
Luna responds by reaching up and tapping the upturned Moon symbol on her forehead. "This is the Royal Crest, the symbol of the Ruling House of the Silver Millennium, and the same crest that will appear on the Moon Princess's forehead if she needs to act in an official capacity... Or if she is in a location with a high enough concentration of magic in the air."
"Like when Ami helped Makoto awaken to her magic?" Usagi asks, a sudden weight in her stomach, even as her heart starts to rush and there is a giddiness in the back of her head that she doesn't understand. Luna couldn't be...
"Exactly like that." Luna agrees, looking up at the girl. "You saw Ami's Planetary Crest, and you saw Makoto's Planetary crest."
"And you and Naru saw mine. Wait... Waitwaitwaitwait. No." Usagi starts shaking her head,. before leaning back and crossing her arms in front of her like a giant X. "You can't be saying what I think you are saying!"
"What do you think I'm saying?" Luna asks, her frustration now completely overtaken with the strange warm sensation in her chest, along with a strong dash of amusement.
"I... I can't possibly be the Silver Princess." Usagi says, with a small note of desperation in her voice. "The Princess is the one who is supposed to do all the hard decisions and the thinky bits that I'm not good at."
"You mean like brokering an agreement with a influential sponsor, acquiring resources and connections for yourself and the Senshi to be able to complete their mission better than they could before?"
"I..." Usagi tries to argue, but she can't. Because that is exactly what she just did. "I..." She tries again, before leaning back, her mind whirling with the information that she has just been told. The worst part is that everything fits together. The way that the fact just sits in her head so comfortably, like it belong there, the strange difference in her magic compared to the more elemental powers of Ami and Makoto...
Even the way that Makoto responded when Usagi gave her a full out order, when instinct came to the forefront and Makoto starting speaking in High Lunar, referring to her as 'My Lady'...
"Huh." That really is all that Usagi can say. "Okay. Now what."
That brings a laugh from Luna. "Well, for the most part, we keep doing what we have been doing all this time." Luna says, "Putting one foot in front of the other, and trying to keep Tokyo safe. I had thought about contacting Artemis and Sailor V to come home, but they are currently in the midst of uprooting two different magical forces in Britain, so it's probably for the best to keep her where she is for the moment."
"I... Hmm..." Usagi starts to say something, before pausing and shaking her head. "You know what, I can't take any more revelations tonight." The girl says, before a smug grin slips onto the reborn Silver Princess's face. "But I want to hear about this 'Artemis' later."
Even through the cat's dark fur, Usagi can see Luna blushing bright as she groans, hiding her face and covering her ears. PERSONAL

And as if to perfect match the lack of progress that Naru is having with pushing her magical skills further this week, Ami is finding herself equally stymied, but in a very different way. One that leaves the girl nearly ready to throw her Mercury computer through a window.
For you see, the girl scans the Bracelets with the Mercury Supercomputer, and she does receive information.

Study with Ami [DC ??]
Usagi spends a lot of time working with Ami this week, trying to continue her push forward to make her school work make more sense, and in particular...
To try and get a handle on the stupid complexities of math.
The two start off making plenty of progress at first..
At first.
Because it isn't too long before the two largest threats to Usagi's grades rear their ugly heads.
The first is an odd little squiggle that... that...
It isn't dividing by 2. Usagi knows that much. But what it actually is still confuses her, especially what it has to do with squares or roots. Shapes do not belong in math.
Neither do letters, which is the other thing that Usagi finds herself struggling against.
Still, there seems to be some kind of progress made over the week. NARU
ENCOUNTER TABLE ROLL - d16

[BEAUTIFUL STRANGER MET]
Tuesday Afternoon, April 28th, 1992
Naru isn't the Jealous type, she never has been. Part of that is how she was raised, for all that Naru is a rather down to earth girl, she was the richest of all her friends and classmates, at least until meeting Makoto. But the girl makes a point of never bringing it up, and given the one other thing that Makoto never brings up... Naru has a feeling the two are connected, and likely not in a happy way. Regardless, Naru was raised well, to respect and appreciate the things that she has, and not to focus on the things that she doesn't. A teaching that went well with the girl's natural disposition, and was further reinforced by the fact that Naru is for the most part happy with who she is.
Sure, there is a part of her that wishes she were a little bit... Bigger up top, and that her hair wasn't quite so frizzy, but these are the kinds of wishes that all teenage girls have, and more than that, Naru knows that she is the spitting image of her mother when she was her age. She's seen the pictures to prove it. And well...
Naru's mother isn't lacking in either of the things that Naru wishes she could change about herself, and her mother has said that it was much the same for her when she was a teen. That Naru is likely to be a late bloomer herself.
Circling everything back around to the whole point of this meandering web of thoughts that is weaving and oozing itself through every inch of Naru's brain... For some reason, whenever she thinks of the Moon Princess, there is this almost stabbing pain of jealousy. Something stronger and harder and... and...
Naru doesn't even know the words to explain the feeling that she has when she thinks those words in that particular order. And it is very specifically those words. Princess of the Moon has the feeling jitter in the depths of her heart, but it's not the same stabbing sensation, and Princess of the Silver Millennium draws no thought or action or emotion at all.
Maybe it has something to do with how Naru can read and speak Elysian?
Such is the way that Naru's thoughts continue to spin around and around in her head, faster and faster to the point that she is no longer paying attention to her surroundings. One foot goes in front of the other, again and again without any thought for the world around her.
Then, there is a terrifying HONK! A screech of tires, and as the girl's eyes snap to the sound, a Car barreling towards her, something grabs hold of the back of Naru's shirt, and with a mighty yank she is pulled from the street and out of the way of the black car that goes speeding past. A moment later two police cars follow behind, but that isn't what Naru is paying attention to anymore. The girl turns, and finds four older teenagers standing there, worried looks on their faces.
"Ah, sorry 'bout that." A tall, angular faced young man says with a cocky grin, his short red hair blowing in the breeze. "Couldn't let a such a pretty face meet such an untimely end." The stranger holds out a hand, "My name's Akira Kenjou, nice to meet you."
The boy motions to the three next to him, "This is Tenou and Michiru," He says, pointing first to another tall, thin young man, this one with breezy blonde hair, who is standing next to the secondarily mentioned Michiru, a Shorter young woman with long green hair.
"And Michiru's best friend, Yukari." Yukari is a taller than Michiru but shorter than Tenou, with waist length bright purple hair and a smile that sends a slightly nervous shiver down Naru's spine.
It is the same kind of smile that appears on Luna's face when she is about to pounce on Usagi's head for being an idiot.
Mind you, Naru nearly got ran over, so perhaps she deserves whatever potential horrors that this Yukari is cooking up.
To be shown in 'Double Date of Destiny! Naru is surrounded by Pretty People!' Test out the Transformation Pen that Luna said should be charged by now.
42+12+6= 60
Usagi looks down at the little pen in her hands, before idly twirling the magical disguise tool across and around her fingers with a level of grace and poise that would be surprising, even to Usagi, if the girl hadn't been doing this exact same thing with nearly every pen that has made it's way into her hands since she gained the strength to grab hold of one.
And possibly... Given how right it feels for her to do this with the pen in hand, with every part of her at a strange level of peace as she does, she may even have been doing it for far longer than the girl has herself been alive.
Putting that strangely morbid thought off to one side, Usagi allows her eyes to trail across the room, smiling at each of her friends. Naru, Luna, Ami, Makoto... They have all come with her to Usagi's house today, in order to see just what this thing is capable of.
However... There is a small problem.
"I... I can't think of anything to transform into!"
There is a soft tittering of laughter from the other girls as her friends shake their heads. Ami even drops her head into her hands. It's true though, this pen is supposed to be able to transform the Princess into anyone or anything that she could imagine.
And the world is filled with so many things, more things than Usagi could ever count in a single lifetime, and that isn't even counting the sheer number of different jobs that are out in the world. "Uhhh..." Usagi starts, before an idea appears in her head. A dastardly, devious idea. Something that she knows no one else has ever thought before. At least, not the way that she is thinking of it right now. "Ahha!" The girl cheers, "Moon Prism! Transform me into the Silver Princess!" Usagi says, as she holds the pen over her head. There is a blinding flash of light...

IKUKO - Search for Clues - d15 DC 13
Sunday Morning, April 26th, 1992
Usagi sits at the kitchen table, for a certain definition of sitting. The girl is... Mostly upright, the side of her head cradled in one hand as she slowly chews on an empty spoon, with a bowl of cereal in front of her. The girl's hair is not yet in it's signature buns, instead billowing out like an unending wave of gold that sprawls out all the way under her bowl.
Ikuko sits at the other end of the table, just... watching as her daughter exists in her natural habitat. This is the girl that Ikuko remembers - The messy, wild child that wears her heart on her sleeve and can be more than a little silly, who is scatterbrained enough to end up trying to eat her spoon instead of her cereal.
Not like the girl that she seems to have grown up into when Ikuko wasn't paying attention. Ikuko doesn't mean to, but the woman gives out a small sigh, the kind of thing that really shouldn't have been even audible... But the moment that the sigh leaves her lips, Usagi goes still for a moment. Slowly, one hand reaches up and grabs hold of the spoon, pulling it out of her mouth and dropping it back in the bowl before the girl blinks a few times, looking over at Ikuko.
Usagi starts to sit up, one hand rubbing at her eyes while she yawns, and then the girl rolls her neck from one side to the other and back. "You okay mom?" The girl asks, her voice still tired, but there is something else there...
Worry.
Usagi is worried about her. It is almost enough to break the carefully held wall that Ikuko has built up over the last month. "I..." Ikuko starts, but shakes her head, "I'm fine."
That would have been enough for the old Usagi, she might have been able to tell that things weren't fine, but the old Usagi would have assumed that her mother was able to handle it, and would have wandered off to do something, anything else in order to take her mind off of worrying about her mother.
This new Usagi though?
If anything, it seems to make this new Usagi even more worried and concerned. "Where's Dad?" She asks, immediately hitting the nail on the head.
"He's still asleep." Ikuko says, eyes trailing off to one side. "He had to work late last night." The woman says, "Apparently something happened yesterday evening, and it sent the entire news world into a flurry. Even after he got home last night, he spent hours on the phone with dozens of different reporters and editors. I don't even yet know what the fuss was about. Just that it involved some sort of theater." Ikuko looks down at her hands, before shaking her head. "So let's just let him rest, alright?"
Usagi looks at her mother for a long moment, "What about Shingo?" Usagi asks, "I know that I haven't been in the house as much lately, spending most of my time..." The girl trails off, "Studying... and trying to figure myself out, I guess."
"Your brother doesn't seem particularly interested in interacting with the rest of the family." Ikuko says. There is clear frustration in her voice, but there is something else there, something that Usagi isn't able to recognize. The girl frowns, before shaking her head.
"You know what. My day can wait till tomorrow." Usagi declares, picking up her bowl and downing the rest of the cereal in a single gulp. "Come on, you and me." There is something infectious about the way that Ikuko's daughter is speaking. The best way that Ikuko can think to put it into words... It isn't that Usagi isn't expecting her mother to disagree with her, but more that the idea of her being denied is unthinkable. "We're gonna go look at expensive dresses and point out cute guys and just have a day to us. No boys allowed, alright?"
"I..." Ikuko tries to argue, she really does, but by the time that she has even thought of any words to try and say to dissuade her daughter, the both of them are already in the car and out of the driveway. The house miles behind them.
Ikuko spends a wonderful day with her daughter, just relaxing and going about town without any worries in the world. MARTIAL/DIPLOMACY

Seems like a simple enough matter, at least until Usagi finds the rambunctious demon boy that works with one of her upperclassmen arguing with some birds.
