Level 1 of a social art isn't really going to solve all our problems and make everyone like us. Our problems really stem from other issues anyway. The potential maluses implied by it being delayed however are far more significant.

There's no reason to believe that it won't help, not to mention that there is no evidence that there are maluses that will be applied by not performing the Hunt right now. Heck, we don't even know if this puts it off for the month, or we can just do the hunt on another vote. Or that the hunt won't just be covered off-screen.

I tend to enjoy the adventure events much more than the social ones, though I feel that Yrs' writing has improved noticeably on those. But ultimately I think it's past time we get a deeper look at the battlefield where Ling Qi will probably spend a lot of her life.

While i am very tempted by Shen Hu's option, this one pulls triple duty: CRX orders, Xuan Shi himself and a (posible) boost to Zhengui.

Heh. Nice twist of language there; it is fun to see a saying that would normally be used figuratively made sense of literally through the lens of a cultivation setting.
Good to see that that breakthrough was rolled. I was mildly disappointing before I got to that because it felt strange for Su Ling to have broken through this early, but the fact that it was explicitly the result of a roll makes it cool instead of rubber-bandy.

I didn't say it wouldn't help. It just won't be a game changer that will magically fix our problems. And yes, the evidence for there being a meaningful *risk* is logical reasoning fromour current situation and the narrative setup.
Do we know if we'll have another vote this month? Of course not! But you could apply that reasoning to any vote. The only sensible thing to do as a response to that is to make sure the most important option is done now, and then cross our fingers that we'll have another chance for the others later.
And the hunt obviously cannot be covered offscreen. It is a major narrative moment and for it to work we need to see Ling Qi developing relationships with the new people. It doesn't work otherwise.
No-one has said we'll be doomed forever and that everyone will hate us if we don't vote for it. We are simply pointing out that, logically, delaying this could make our attempts to fix our social situation more difficult and that's a risk we don't really need right now.
When we chose to agree to our mother's request to bring people in, that was a considered decision where we decided that the trade-offs were worth it. Continuing to make our social lives more difficult for no reason, however, doesn't really help matters.
